Beastly Hatred Part II

*In the village of Roaringshore, rumors spread of how one of the local bartenders seemed to be in a very angry mood. Quick to snap at those giving threats. Along with the spreading rumor, the bartender was seen brawling with one of the other locals. Regardless that she was a female, he punched her like any man , even hard enough to draw blood. But the women in Roaringshore was use to harsh brutal conditions that she exchanged bloody spilling blows just as much. Breathlessly tired, the two continued to fight until the scuffle was intervened and the bartender was hit over the back of the head by some 4 foot individual.

Image

Bound by rope, and unconscious, he was seen being hauled away by three halflings on a small boat the soon rowed towards the ship known as the Sparrowhawk.

What became of the Bartender after being hauled onto his own ship was unknown. Only five individuals however would know.
However the Sparrowhawk merchant who sold fishing equipment, rum, barrels, pets, and other miscellaneous items may gossip about how the Captain of the ship was in a very foul mood.

"I dunno why we're putting him here, and not teleporting him to the inn!"

We used all the scrolls!

Use the 'remove curse' scroll ... I mean.. I dont know Im just guessing!

"Szar said Greater Restoration could help too! We should do that too, to be sure!"

You in there, Sel?

"...This isn't what it looks like."

Is he under a magic spell?

"Curse!"

We did what we could... He got bit by some wolf creature.. Terra did too; but, It seems like Sel's is worse

*The bedsheets stirs his eyes slowly open, realizing he was tied up in his bed he angerly starts to squirm while raging curses* "Whats the meanin of this! Untie me! AARRRGGGH!!!"

"Uh oh."

I hope he doesn't get turned into a werewolf.

"...Should we knock him out again?"

Oh stuff it.. you're not getting outta those ropes

"I'm no foking Wolf!" * He shakes and rattles squirming in the ropes* "UNTIE ME!"

Will that hold him? Maybe you should have locked him in ship prison.

"...There's a prison here?"

We aren't going to untie you... Settle down, and maybe we will give you a little rum

In the cage with ya!

"We can each grab a limb!"

He is definitely not himself, right? He won't hold it against us when he turns normal?

*He clenched his teeth and glared at Terra almost as if he would bite her if she was close enough!*

Bracing for the Storm

you have to weather the storm."

*Sel, the bartender of the Broken Goblet, the Captain of the Sparrowhawk scanned the horizons through a scope, watching, measuring anticipating. Seasoned sailors in Roaringshore, knew when the weather was bad, this was their life. Picking up on the rumors, he gathered his crewmates and headed to the docks. After all his ship was his home, and he needed to ensure it was protected. And he needed all the advise he could gather for this time, there's no magical compass that will help him this time.*

"If me ship so much as gets a scratch on her, I'll gut yer and feed yer to the sharks!"

*Rumors out of the Broken Goblet Tavern would tell the tale of a Doppleganger that was seen in Soubar. It was last seen paying a fair on the traveling wagon. However later that night, a waitress from the Broken Goblet tavern spoke of a very tall man that overly paid for a drink. Some may say tis an odd thing, for most that buy a drink from the Broken Goblet, likes the cheap prices of the Broken Goblet. Was the unknown tall man a generous stranger or did he have some other intentions?*

*Patrons that frequent the Broken Goblet, would know what insight the bartender had in regards to such talks about an intelligent Doppleganger*

Maybe its a tend but who knows, but rumors spread around the docks of Roaringshore of how one of the local bartenders helped something unseen that left a trail of wet footprints along his boots. He was seen entering the Swordarm Inn where Two Strokes the Inn's front desk clerk was happy to take in strange business without asking questions. He would only say, the bartender appeared to be helping someone or something up towards the rooms, however what ever the man was holding or carrying, it was invisible.

For a couple of days now, a sorrowful voice has been heard echoing from beyond the piers of the Roaringshore when the sun goes down or the fog rises thick.
The song is faint and carries an eerie reverb, its rhymes are unknown to the locals, although some of the sailors could claim that it often sounds pleading.

*During the late night in Roaringshore while the fog was heavy and thick, some of the local pirates would gossip about a strange scene. Traveling adventures , patrons of the Broken Goblet as well as some of their staff was experiencing a night surely out of place. One of the waitress had swore she seen her self leaving the tavern. Thinking the waitress needed a break of fresh air, she was advised to do just that. However her long overdue absence took the curiosity of the other employees and patrons with a weary concern. They set off to find the waitress known as Sarah in which they found but she surely didnt have the same distraught demeanor. Just when everyone thought everything was okay, they heard a voice from behind group informing Sel, that Captain Pike was asking for him. Having suddenly seen two of the same waitress, the night seemed to had paused.

Image

One mage decided to use a magical spell to reveal which was the true waitress. The magic successful, the attempt upsetting. Suddenly a dark mist began to conjure, leaving the already thick fog, even harder to see through. A pair of dopplegangers suddenly spawned from the black mist and began to attack the gathering!

Image

The old saying had seemed to shown truth, outsiders are given no quarter for transgressing against a Roaringshore resident. Nearby pirates was fast to engage and help fend off the attacking Dopplegangers as employees of the Broken Goblet and its patrons fought to bring down the attacking Dopplegangers. Even manflesh eating dogs of Roaringshore and pigs had appeared to attack some of the Doppleganger. Perhaps even they too like the bartenders service! The pirates even gave the Dopplegangers a proper farewell.*

*With the failing of returning ships, the matter becomes more of an important topic within Roaringshore. The Broken Goblet would likely hear such trending dreading talks as patrons drinks to calm nerves. Having a ship of his own and wanting to experience more adventures out in sea, the man known as Sel whos one of the local bartenders of Roaringshore, whos a known scoundrel, and is a Captain of his own ship begins to put up "A Sign In the Broken Goblet" and spread the word that he was now hiring a crew once again for another seaborn adventure. Such a sign would read..*
Image
"The Sparrowhawk is again hire a crew for a job"

"Must be willing to commit any unlawful acts of Piracy,
and such things that comes with it like plundering, pillaging, raiding, killing, investigation of why pirate ships are failing to return to Roaringshore, and help be rid of such a thing responsible for the failing of those ships returning to Roaringshore, or any other thing that likely fits the job description."

*Just after the posted sign was finish, a crude addition was hastily written below*

Before I Forget

"Must not be a prissy sort!"
"Must not be bothered by chimney elves!"
"Must not be bothered by man eating half foots!"
"Must not have any alliance to Baldur's Gates and their "Goodie" alliance"
"Must not be a Surface Elf.
"And lastly..and..most Importantly..
"Must be willing to work for cheap!"

A Dead Mans Tale

Image

*Rumors would spread in Roaringshore of how a badly injured pirate with burn marks and battle wounds, struggled to head into the Broken Goblet. Upon his entrance, with his last bit of strength , he braced himself against the railing and shouted out ..*

"They got Firestorm! Bloody ... b-bloody moon ...! They g-g.... Firestorm...!"

*That very same man was soon carried out of the Broken Goblet , and some onlookers would had seen the bartender cast a dark spell to speak with the dead man, for it was always a known fact, a dead man tales no lies*

Image

"Ship in the moonlight."
"Hunter ship in the moonlight."
"Ship in the moonlight..."

Image

*What ever existing animation the dead pirate had was soon no more, and the corpse was hauled off to the wagon to be disposed of properly by the Blind man. Later the bartender known as Sel would head to the High Captains Hall. For what ever reason the bartender went there, Roaringshore would soon likely have a village of very angry....*

"The Leaving of the Sparrowhawk Rumor"

Image

*The ship known as the Sparrowhawk might have been seen a few days ago setting sail away from Roaringshores waters. Pirates that work down near the dock and or even the many enforcers would only say that it's Captain only mention that he needed to take his ship elsewhere for some special modifications to his ship. As the ship was reaching beyond the thick fog that shrouds Roaringshores pirate infesting waters, the black flags with the skull and bones that were often raised high were lowered. Perhaps the Captain wanted to avoid the rumored pirate hunters.*

Dread Arrival's

Rumors would spread about Roaringshore of how a building in the market area specifically near the stables, there was wagons and carts being offloaded. The building itself being renovated. Furniture was being brought along with many shelves. Some things visible others not at all. They spoke no words and continued their work without pause like men under orders. However the existing merchants in the market square would surely had seen the shop sign being carried off one of the wagons and soon being place on the building. It would had read..

"Pestil's Pawn Shop"

Unfinished Business Part 1

Rumors in Roaringshore, would speak of how one of the well known bartenders from the Broken Goblet, had barged out of the tavern caring what appeared to be a dead woman over his shoulder while blood profusely spilled from her mouth. Before anyone had time to approach or question him, he and the body of the woman teleported , vanishing from view...

It was a day like many others in Roaringshore. The pirates were thinking about how best to plunder ships or find some hidden treasure from a fellow pirate long dead for a few decades, when it suddenly happened. From the walkway, what seemed like an ordinary bag fell with a thud onto the roof of the pawnshop. It rolled a couple of times and got stuck between two tiles.

All relatively normal, if not for the fact that the bag eventually opened, and an eye, particularly larger than usual, rolled out of it and fell to the ground, catching the attention of the locals. Those who approached, if they dared, could confirm the incredible stench that both the bag and the eye were emitting. Some may have vomited, others might have simply run away, and still others (perhaps) would have called for the priest of Umberlee to deal with it.

One could almost swear that a voice from the walkway had shouted something very similar to, "Gross! Get out of here!"

To whom it was directed, however, remains a mystery.

In Roaringshore, a priest of Cyric arrives to proselytize on behalf of his god and the Spire of the Black Dawn, the foremost temple of the Black Sun in the region, superior to any other Cyricist sect. Watchful Skull Roakhan seeks out the most cruel and ruthless of the pirates in the town to present Cyric as a natural choice for them: a god who not only abides but relishes in the actions of those who take without asking, indifferent to their methods. He stresses Cyric's immense power and rejection of any laws, rules, and norms - outside of those regarding the veneration of Cyric himself and fealty to the Spire and its Herald. Those who reject their authority Roakhan condemns as heretics that stray from the One True Way.

*One of the Broken Goblet's bartenders would likely hear such rumors in the tavern and ask random patrons...*

Image

"Ahoy boyos! What yer lot's be think'n about with this Cyric priest com'n 'round try'n to make folks kneel to that crazed God? I mean, far as I be know'n yall always gave praise to the Bitch Queen and feared her wrath! Wouldn't want yer ships to go miss'n now I reckon!. Nae! Think such a priest nae belong here in our lovely Roaringshore!" *As he held up his bottle of rum in a cheer he voiced out..* "I made Roaringshore me home because everythin about the Shore be fitt'n! No stupid laws, we are all free men and women! And the pirates be kneel'n to no one! Huzzah! Yer lots taught me when I was but a scallywag that the only world we free men listen to is the word from the High Captains! So I say Praise to the Five! Huzzah!"

*Clearly the bartender in his own way was trying to deter the many pirate patrons from converting in their belief's and cultures. After all, there was only one man he knew that was a Shore man that had once embraced the ways of the Black Sun and if it that man never went around trying to convert the beliefs of the other locals of Roaringshore, then no one else should be..*

The Little Vermin of Roaringshore, despite never to be seen, can still hear and see most of that goes on. Sulking around, staying close within the shadows, she goes out of her way to hunt and seek out this Cyric Priest. Where ever the Priest of Cyric may be, in these strange lands to convert pirates, The Little Vermin seek to stab, slice, cleave, and mutilate one who is trying to convert her home into something she would hate to see and have. She will have her eye and ears out, along with her little Vermin to roam and patrol, keeping their eyes out at places she cant, As Rats stick together.
May the Rat Queen summon the next Vermintide!

The Gondar, Eberc Smitherman, can be seen around Roaringshore. He makes little effort in approaching any of the denizens there and heads directly to the Run A Rig shop. Rumor has it the craftsman has been hired to help the Wintertal's with their outrageously dangerous ladder. He spends most of the day measuring the height with a long rope with knots tied at specific intervals and sketching his findings or ideas.

Overnight he rests at the Swordarm Inn and gets very little rest either from the tavern or the town there-in. Either way, it seems Eberc cannot wait to return to Baldur's Gate anytime soon and can be heard muttering his displeasure for the setting. He leaves at day-break, leaving behind a letter and some ideas with the shop-keep. He promises to return, although at a later time whenever construction is said to begin and not a moment before.
