Sinister Shores

“The truth will set you free,
but first it will piss you off. ”

Image

If you spend your time hoping someone will suffer the consequences for what they did to your heart, then you're allowing them to hurt you a second time in your mind. Bitterness is like cancer. It eats upon the host. But anger is like fire. It burns it all clean. Anger is an poison that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured. Most misunderstandings in the world could be avoided if people would simply take the time to ask, "What else could this mean?.

Image

*She was fuming with anger* "They-they think ..squeak..."

*His raises a brow then rolled his eyes in disbelief and fell into a fit of barking laugher* " Wot? ...is that so?....Why the bloody hells would I even be concerned about such?" *He rubbed his eyes to wipe away the tears then waved a hand dismissively*. "If that is wot they think, so be it. I care not. Nor do I care to concern myself with such pitiful notions. I have far more pressing concerns things that are actually important to me." *He scoffs.*

Image

Anybody can become angry that is easy, but to be angry with the right person and to the right degree and at the right time and for the right purpose, and in the right way that is not within everybody's power and is not easy. I always believe that when one speak when they are angry and they will make the best speech they will ever regret. And while the Sword Coast suffers from the many dangers, sinister plots, attacks of lies and deceitful manipulations, mistrusting those that could be potential allies, or sea monsters , devils, demons or even fiends...I will carry on has I have for my true purpose is never revealed, my direction never told, my real wants never said. For that is whom I am.

Image

I will continue to let those that think they know or even understand me, continue to do so. For I find it very amusing if not entertaining.

In Darkness They Come

"There's nothing more dangerous,
than someone who wants to make the world a better place,
in their own image."

The villains were always ugly in books and tales in songs. Necessarily so, it seemed. Because if they were attractive if their looks matched their charm and their cunning they wouldn't only be dangerous. They would be irresistible. Irresistible now that's a fun word. I've looked upon many beautiful women, seen many enticing things, gazed upon priceless items I'd so cherish.

Image

The stuff of nightmares don't always appear terrifying. But often times they do. Its just like a bad rumor. A soured gossip. People had though the town of Beregost had posted bounties to hunt for tieflings. To bring back their horns or tail would be evidence. Some thought to even fake such evidence, slaughtering goats and claiming the horns are those of the fiendish bloods. The lies, the deception runs even deeper than that.

Image

Somewhere out there, theres a band a group, manipulating the world for their own gain. Such a practice is not uncommon really. There's ways to determine such truths if you know where to go. I've seen the misguided ways of how a false tongue can stir the world in the wrong direction. Its like in Amn when many thought the Inquisition was down right oppressive, evil, yet fools were misguided, mislead, tricked with layers of trickery, and before they know it, their holding arms along side the Inquisition, helping them in their cause. Beregost is no different. Yet the ones that are being held guilty on account, are being shamed and ridiculed, when it is them that knows the real truth. As plots twist and turn, I hold the rumors that flows into my ears as entertaining. If that is, I dont find myself involved to unwanted attacks .

Image

Someone is already out there pointing blame and fingers at the innocent, painting them guilty when all along it is them that lies and is the true ones responsible for the horrid acts. Some had wondered if I myself were against fiendish blooded tieflings. I smirk and roll my eyes to such questions. Only the ones that know me more than the average would truly know the answer to that question. It's just like how people had thought me an Inquisition.

Like Moon Like Sun

“Just because something isn't a lie does not mean that it isn't deceptive.
A liar knows that he is a liar,
but one who speaks mere portions of truth in order to deceive is a craftsman of destruction.
Appear weak when you are strong,
and strong when you are weak.”

Image

All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when we are able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must appear inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near. Although I'm surely no veteran soldier that's been in the frontlines of many battlefields. But doesn't mean I don't know the game of war. In fact I've been involved with several wars, both sides just didn't know I was there. In truth I wasn't, while they spilled each others bloody for what ever cause they believed to be their cause, I stood in the comfort of my chair waiting to hear how the spun web of deceptions would take place.

Image

Oh.. you mean the friends you are visited.. you new friend Zerros, huh?

"You need to do your homework better, A truce is not a friendship, Blink twice and we will be ripping each other's throat out"

"The Succubus strikes again?"

"She keeps doing that, Sel Keep up"

"I've not seen or rather heard from the Succubus since last we defeated her bloody Doppelgangers"

"The wretch seeks to infect folk of her choosing. At first with the ridiculous chocolates"

"Oi oi ..wot you mean infect?"

"For an information broker you surely are behind on facts, Sel"

"I care for information concerning. Whispering succubus's in an ear with boxes of chocolates is hardly wot I could call of concern. Enticing sort of..but thats another matter".

"Any interaction with them will have you at risk , Without you even knowing"

I already told you Sel.

Image

Many people look at the jester as nothing more than mere clowns and fools laughing in their delight. But take off the clown suit and makeup and you can see just who was being fooled. The jester trained to play his act, bringing forth the many wonderous smiles and laughs, in complete control of their expressions. Like a minstrel that pluck the strings of their lutes, the jester played the sounds of deception as according to his own creation.

"Eh? you would send the priestess of Illmater to the Abyss to deal with the Succubus?! *He barks a laugh*

Well some of us want this succubus dead.

"Oh i get that part..just not the how..Yer better off goin to the Temple of Mystra mate, "Darkhold..but the outcome surely wont be what you may want."

"I rather do not give Tarina the chance to obtain me as a specimen, thank you. Valyxia, is not a mere Succubus, The entity that she serves, remains unnamed for those who know what it is dread to utter it"

"And here I thought a wet woman trying to lure me for sex in the water was my most troubles."

"Sel...you are a simpleton for not killing that woman yourself. I know you've harbored her, You are dooming yourself"

"Eh? Shes not living with me, I been in the Gates. She fled between Roaringshore and Soubar. I dont hold responsibility over her."

"Look, deflect all you like. But you run an establishment on Roaringshore and you have renown there"

"You my man surely assume much. I'm only a bartender, nae a High Captain"

"You have the connections"

"I already told her very clear, if she fok's with Roaringshore, her body will feed the crows."

"I -hope- to catch her unaware, I will -feast- on her corpse"

"Eh? Not even I would do that mate, and I like eat'n women"

Ugh, Can we focus on the other matter first?

"Right, the Hunger below you mentioned"

'I got a hunger below me'self" *He looks at the wondering pig and licks his lips*

I am convinced that human life is filled with many pure, happy, serene examples of insincerity, truly splendid of their kind-of people deceiving one another without any wounds being inflicted, of people who seem unaware even that they are deceiving one another. There is really nothing more satisfying than to watch how people express themselves when they look upon me, nor when I hear the many talks about me. How everyone assumes to know my intentions or what it is I am doing. A man such as me leans back in the blissful state absorbing the pleasures of knowing how the world spins.

"Just...
how...
it was...
manipulated to be."

In every age it has been the tyrant, the oppressor and the exploiter who has wrapped himself in the cloak of patriotism, or religion, or both to deceive and overawe the People. Some exploiters are like the Moon and Sun, appearing the same shape and high above for anyone to gaze upon. But both are far more different than the other like a coin. The question is, do you know which you are talking too? And how do you know the Sun or the Moon don't have their own dark side? Mundane eyes will never see

((RP keeps our world alive, DM's works off of our Rp. Some of the players are their eyes and ears and they don't even know it. But when their not logged in, when their at work, when they are doing real life things like the rest of us. Remember, when your role playing and engaging with others, what you say just might very well spread far and wide, and loud enough, to reach the right set of ears. Nothing ever really returns in a timely matter. It returns when it's ready to.))

Rum's Good, Horns Good, Coins Good

"They say I'm one of the Inquisitions?,
Nay luv, they just didn't know I was hunting mages for coins."

Sel-

Image

I'll never understand some people. Why is it such a concerning thing with how one makes their coins? So what if people partake in Bounty Hunting. People hunt all the time, for food, for influence, for a name, reputation. I remember people accused me of being an Inquisition from Amn just because I was hunting a mage for a bounty. I was just needing the coins. Not like anyone was paying me not too. The mage was a sick bastard anyways, who prayed upon young girls. If anything I was doing the world a favor.

Image

Oh I heard ol the mess down in Beregost. The Hunt for tiefling horns. I did go to Beregost to inquire, but I found out it wasn't Beregost that was putting up the bounties. A ruse, some trickery rather. I lost interest and headed back north. Screw it I say I surely wasn't going to do anything for free, not me. However...a blessing in disguise appeared. It seem's someone is paying for Tiefling horns. Could this be true I had wondered? Well after a few long treks along side capable hands, I've come to find out it was very true. Not just true, but very very rewarding. Hell not even Amn paid that much. And just like when I did hunt some mages for bounties, wasnt like I disliked mages. Not at all, I like them surely. Dont trust magic however, but I surely wasnt discriminating mages.

Image

But these people...these people pays nicely. Or should I say... "Paid" nicely. They don't even seem to have a particular reason other than the hate for tieflings. Nothing quite new really to me. I remember nearly 14 years ago such a hate grew very wide spread. No tiefling was safe. All was being hunted. Hell some even hired assassins to kill some. But there's no mistake, I have nothing against tiefers. I quite like them myself, their quite fun, the female ones at least. But by the luck of Tymora, I surely didn't know theres a fortune to be made for their horns. This is surely something I would have to really think about. Hell it makes the man down in Beregost who pays for minotaur horns seems like scraps compared. An "enticing opportunity" I would even call this. Yes I can't help whos the real buyer. If her men pays this much...I wonder what kind of coffers she has...

Image

Decisions decisions...might even be able to pay off those blasted gnomes.

Twisted Revelations

"What do you do when you learn things are not what it seems?
Protect yourself, protect your heart by locking away your feelings,
no matter how much it will hurt to do so."

Image

A distraught person often feels their world is crumbling around them. From a moment when all things were going just right, life does this thing where it sweeps the rug right from under you. And before your very eyes, everything that you had held dear or beginning too, starts to feel as if it was being ripped from your grasp.

Image

I've learned a thing or two when it comes to sudden disappointment. Dreadful fears even. It's quite simple really, all you had to do was always expect the worse. People may call you negative, but do they even need to be knowing? I know full well the pain of having something I had just started to cherish, only to see it being torn away from me right before my very eyes. And I had to make a choice, and neither choices were in my favor. That day harden me, that day taught me how to control my emotions where I could simply switch it off like lantern. I refuse to ever and I mean ever, to allow myself to feel that helpless again. Some people had always tried to get me to fully trust them, always questioned why is it I just wouldn't trust them even though they are giving me all the evidence that I could. I would tell them...

Image

"Because it's not just you that I would have to trust, I would have to trust in life that it wouldn't screw me over. And I say on to you, no one can ever trust life, not ever." I would rather live out my days, never trusting in life so that when the disappointment happens, I wont be shedding tears and feeling that bottomless pit of pain that makes you grab at your chest, wanting it to stop. When a person makes a mistake and corrects themselves, never repeating such a mistake again, then you know surely that was just a mistake period. However, if you keep making the same mistake over and over, well its no longer a mistake. It's a habit, and bad habits does nothing but brings rot to a soul and even body.

Angry Woman, Stupid Men

"Why do men anger me so?
Why are women complicating?
Have the answers to both, and I will kneel to you."

Image

Promises, pacts, contracts, vows. Words of bonding, words that are to be considered sacred. Some people may say, such words are meant to be broken. Not everyone would agree. Some hold such words as sacred as any holy ground. Some will even die for it, others will even kill for it. I say, the world would be a much better place if everyone would hold such words sacredly.

"I wear his ring on my right hand, he wears mine on his left!" *Hands gripped the goblet hard*
*He winces then grabs the bottle of whiskey and refilled her goblet* "Yer goin to need more ol that.."

"If they manipulate me, she would find me an enemy."

"Let me ask you, just how much would you give up and sacrifice for me? "

"I would give up my dream, a dream that I thought I may be able to fulfill."

However sometimes, a person can be too trusting ,too giving in themselves to cater and appease others. And it becomes to a point of overwhelming, the find themselves unable to trust anyone around them. I for one never trust with out insurance. Any Merchant would tell you that. And before anyone should be trusted, its far advise that they fully know the person they are going to give their trust too.

Image

Otherwise, the wrong sort of darkness can creep like a lurking blade in the night, to cut away things most valuable to you, it not end you all together. Vows, promises, pacts, and contracts. Are they really words that should be held to the highest regard? Yes I say. Because a person alone, unable to trust anyone is a person that is utterly alone. And in life..a person needs to trust someone. If someone asked the bartender of the Broken Goblet what he thought about promises he would tell them..

“Words can be twisted into any shape. Promises can be made to lull the heart and seduce the soul. In the final analysis, words mean nothing. They are labels we give things in an effort to wrap our puny little brains around their underlying natures, when ninety-nine percent of the time the totality of the reality is an entirely different beast. The wisest man is the silent one. Examine his actions. Judge him by them.”

Cleansing

Every life choices, comes with a possible consequence.
For any fool that doesn't know that, are destined to suffer the greatest disappointment.
We all will face moments where we must choose between options.
Make a choice, choose a side, pick the presenting options.
Not always are you able to refuse making a choice.
Even to not pick one comes with a consequence.
Everyone...
Needs to make a choice...

"You get to go about carefree but I have to live in the shadows , it' is only I that has much to sacrifice."

"That is because I've already thought everything through, I know the choices that was before me long ago, I've already chosen. That is why, I appear as if I nae care. It's because I saw this coming long ago already."

"How could you even know that? Even I want to enjoy it all and have fun. I am tired of it all only being me."

"If you think your the only one feeling that, your mistaken. The differences is, your still deciding. Not I, for that part of me was done."

Image

Some people in the world take the time to breath, take the moment to think. Like a mage trying to unlock the mysteries of a lost tome. these type of people, tries to unravel the mysteries of the unknowing. I've found out, it wasn't easy, and it took a lot of time. Some people often ask me, how did I predict such a thing, or how did I know what was expected. I never reveal the truth. Not because I nae want too. It's because I can't. There are times I do fail, and predict wrong, but even with that result, it was expected. People run around, talking to the vast many, spend days on end, researching for a answer. Sometimes, you just have to clear you mind, do away with thoughts of the troubles. Strip down to your flesh, and simply step into a bath as if your purifying yourself. There is nothing like a good bath, that moment you submerge yourself under the refreshing water, you feel that sense of purity, you feel suddenly cleaned of all anomalies.

Image

Sometimes a single bath can be just what you needed to make a choice. A life changing choice. The next time you come across someone who cant seem to stop talking, lift up a hand, stop them, and merely ask them did they take the time to breathe. I can assure you, they will smirk, they might look at you cluelessly. they might even take your question as an insult. The rare few will pause closing their eyes, and simply breathe. So while they are submerged in the water, and undertaking whatever task they are doing. Sit back, close your own eyes, and simply breathe. In the end, it will be you in a refreshed state, with clear thoughts, and your next choice will come swiftly and clean.

Distractions

"We are always falling in love or quarreling, looking for jobs or fearing to lose them,
getting ill and recovering, following public affairs. If we let ourselves,
we shall always be waiting for some distraction or other to end before we can really get down to our work. "

Image

We all have our moments of being forced to sit still and gaze upon the many wonders before us. Sometimes we are too caught up in fun, or other interests, and neglect the world in which we sit in. If you get stuck, get away from your inks and quills. Take a walk, take a bath, go to sleep, make a pie, draw, listen to music, meditate, exercise, whatever you do, don't just stick there scowling at the problem. And don't seek another ear, or go to a gathering, if you do, other people's words will pour in where your lost words should be. Open a gap for them, create a space. Be patient.

Image

For as long as people can remember, distractions can be both a good thing and a terrible thing. Some distractions are far more enticing however, making one forget their own busy self, or even problems. It can even make a person forgot what they long for, who they miss. Even make them forget themselves. But sometimes, a mishap happens, it may seem confusing at first, jarring and maybe even frustrating. But its a blessing really. Because like a gust of wind, it blows away the thick cloud of distractions allowing you once again to see a clear view of the world. It helps you realize what needs to be done, and what shouldn't be done.

If a patron ever asked the bartender of the Broken Goblet what he thought of distractions he would tell you...

“All profound distraction opens certain doors. You have to allow yourself to be distracted when you are unable to concentrate. But keep thy state, come not into it's confusion. Then you can clearly see wot yer doing wrong mate. ”
“We drink to get drunk, we get drunk to fall asleep, when we fall asleep, we commit no sin, when we commit no sin, we go to the Heaven's."

The Late Arrival

“I’m a pirate.” He chuckled, shaking his head.
“I know treasure when I see it.”

Image

*Looks over and gives a small smirk, touching her hat with two fingers and lifting them away in greeting* "Ello luv. Ye seem familiar... have I threatened ye before.. do I owe ye money?"

*His expression was shocked surprised, a slight frown hinted, he appraised her up and down as if trying to ensure he wasn't seeing a ghost. He takes a few steps forth..observing...scanning her*

Cap'n... Cap'n Shana *She grins impishly to him* Surprise *Holds out jazz hands as though playing charades to say 'surprise' as well* Finally got back ta tha coast. Got a few stories under me hat and could do with a bottle of rum and a broken couch *Smirks*. Either that or a Broken bottle and a rummy couch... no think I had it right tha first time"

"How long as it been?"

Months sadly... got caught up in bad weather and worse people.

"I've missed you lass, deeply so. Many days and nights in the Shore I stood upon the docks or on the Sparrowhawk awaiting your return. Days became tendays, tendays became months, months felt like forever."

Aye... I did warn ye my life is at times like tha wind... sadly it means that at times I'll be away. *She sighs and shakes her head and sips the tankard of rum* Grew from tha experience but always was thinkin of back here. Few places in tha world that call me back"

*His dark eyes gazed upon her, taking in the very sight. * "Aye I be knowin, but this time, it was far longer than the others, not even a word, not even a sparrow. ..it was just little over a tenday ago, I came to terms that I would never be seein ya again...."

She shakes her head* Told ye before I'm like a bad copper too. I'll keep showin up might take a while... a long while... and beating a guard or two up with a spoon. But I'm Indomitable. Can't keep a good girl down ferever.*she grins a bit, taps her chin* or was it ye cant keep a cheeky slightly naughty girl down ferever? Good girls I imagine just sorta.... stay there...

"I held on to the seams as much as I could endure.."

Do you think that I am foolish love...
Do ye think that I am mad?
For to love with all your heart love, is where fortunes can be had.
I will cross the briny ocean, I will whistle and sing....
and if you choose another lover lad, its up to you who wears the ring.
For I am frolicsome and I am easy, good tempered and free...
and I don't give a single pin me boys what the world thinks of me.

I've always said that people will face a time where they will have to make a choice, make a decision. Many label decisions by a good one or a bad one, the wrong one or the right one. But I will say on to you, it never matters what sort of choice your going to make really. Because your going to have to make one no matter what you think or feel. The question is, can you come to terms with you decisions? Can you face the consequences , endure the surprises and hold fast to your choice like holding the helm through a storm? That is what makes the person who you are. You make the choice and you come to terms with it. I'm a man of code. I will see all my choices through until the path ends. Words like should've could've would've are irrelevant after you make a choice. Some people will look at me and say that I had change, that I became different. Yet what they really failed to realize is, I'm the same person all along. It was they that changed, and because I hadn't, they look at me differently when it was really them.

Image

If a patron ever asks the bartender of the Broken Goblet, in what he thinks of making choices, he would tell you...

"You make one, and make sure yer nae going to regret it later, because theirs no turning back . Our world is about what a man can do, and what a man cant do. All that stuff in the middle is just seaweed stuck in yer ears mate."

“We drink to get drunk, we get drunk to fall asleep, when we fall asleep, we commit no sin, when we commit no sin, we go to the Heaven's."

A Night In the Mermaid

“Being a rum drinking,
black gutted,
plundering,
pillaging,
thieving,
bartender,
scoundrel of a pirate,
is an emotion in motion.”

There's a saying that "Distance Means So Little When Someone Means So Much". To me that includes everyone that isn't ones enemy. But how do you measure the closeness to those that you consider much meaningful to you? The amount of laughter shared? The many times you protected each other in battle? The sharing and giving of food when the other is hungry? Is it by how much you cared and trust them? The amount of times you've slept at their bedside? Or even slept with that for that matter?

Image

In a world filled with fish, the ones most in awe are the mermaids. Rare to see, much more rare to touch. Some of goblets in the Broken Goblet tavern had goblets with unique crafted stems of a mermaid entwined with a sailor, an simple act of copulation, or an act of love, the representation is debatable. I say the one you consider close are the one you can do all of the above. Because the satisfaction of sharing a laughter with those you trust, or can depend on to give you food if your hungry, or protect each others flanks in battle, or share bodies with in the need of physical pleasures are all things lets you place yourself in a state of vulnerability without a hint of worry that they will harm you.

Image

That is why disloyalty can make someone seething at the teeth, hissing with anger and glare upon them with hatred. Some cases, wishing the other a cold merciless death. I belong to the people I love, and they belong to me, and the love and loyalty I give them, form my identity far more than any word or group ever could. We have to recognize that there cannot be relationships unless there is commitment, unless there is loyalty, unless there is love, patience, persistence.

If ever a patron asked the bartender of the Broken Goblet, if he's ever been in the Mermaid, he would tell them..

"There's all sorts of mermaids mate, blushing ones, bearded ones, enticing ones, evil ones, ones you can love, ones you can trust and not trust. But I tell yer mate, the ones that only has eyes for you, are the ones you want to keep forever. Because look at us, we are some of the filthiest bastards that ever breathed air. And if a Mermaid can hold us dear, the no matter how much time goes by, no matter how far they are, you should hold on them , cherish them, and be loyal only to them. Because only a mermaid can be loyal to you. If they dont, then they weren't a mermaid at all, but just another flapping fish in the water"

Wants

“I do not always know what I want, but I do know what I don't want.
Or is it I know what I want, and know what I don't want”

We all want something. Sometimes we want too much even when we know its dangerous to us. What makes the mind error so? Well it's clearly not the mind at all. I don't want whatever I want. Nobody does. Not really. What kind of fun would it be if I just got everything I ever wanted just like that, and it didn't mean anything? What then?

However there's somethings that I do want. And I see that what I want is far too dangerous for my own good. Yet..I just cant stop. I tell myself not to reach, but my hands has already grasped. I think to step back to gain distance, but when I look carefully, I had only moved forward. Why am I getting angry? Why do I even feel anything? I thought the path was clear, all sides of the table had understood. Yet what is this? I fear it I really do, because I can see clearly how it can wrought a terrible destruction. I know it should not be, I know its forbidden.

I had the opportunity to cast it away, to walk away and not even look back. But like treading through a dense forest or thick mud, I barely made gain. And before I knew it, I had turned around from whence I came. What is the meaning of this? As I think about it, the answer doesn't even matter. Sometimes we want what we want even if we know it’s going to kill us.

Losing Grips

“A person knows how connected they are,
when they break a heart and find yours shattered also.”

Image

*Sweat poured from the brows, the breathing was heavy, the mind clouded.* "Where was I? What am I doing here?" *A look around and suddenly everything was clear, he remembered everything*

There are moments in life when it is all turned inside out what is real becomes unreal, what is unreal becomes tangible, and all your levelheaded efforts to keep a tight ontological control are rendered silly and indulgent. Our hearts are bars of soap that we keep losing hold of, the moment we relax, they drift off and fall in love and get broken, all in the wink of an eye. We're not in control.

Image

Love is a fire that burns unseen,
a wound that aches yet isn’t felt,
an always discontent contentment,
a pain that rages without hurting,

When you lose something,
and not able to grasp it when found,
by what means are you able to get it back?
When you lost your grip of control,
and fall into an whirlpool of bliss,
how can you possibly cast it all away?

I repeat the words with a prang of guilt within my chest that beats with a temptation profound. Like the delectable drinks in a pretty goblet, I stay for more even tho I know, its not healthy. But the state that lingers, the feelings that overwhelms, are normally the very reasons to keep having another goblet. But there is another reason. There's a saying, that sometimes a person needs to put their pride aside in order to continue. But there's another saying that a person could never have enough pride. So when a man is prideful when it comes to his moral code, he is a man that would do anything necessary to honor that code, for moral codes is a path to a direction of how one should live.

Different Scare

“Have you ever been in love?
Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable.
It opens your chest and it opens up your heart,
it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up.”

Image

This life is what you make it. No matter what, you're going to mess up sometimes, it's a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you're going to mess it up. Now whom ever said that is a down right bloody liar. There is nothing good in mistakes. I'm a man that likes plans. I think things though. I know others that never plan. They live day by day by the day, leaving themselves in what ever fate has instore for them. I myself don't trust fate. It tends to throw a rock in your path keeping you from having a smooth course like a bad reef in the way of me ship.

Image

Pirates often have a saying to keep the winds at your back , in other words to be in a good situation in which you can succeed and leave the troubles behind. But I must ask, what if the wind grasps you like loving arms and swirl you around in an endless cycle? What then when your overwhelmed by the sense of helplessness? And just when you thought your life may be in danger, your suddenly shrouded in a sensual feeling of having your every desires come to pass.

Image

And a mermaid rises to cup your face singing the sweet enticing song in your ear that leaves you removed of all coherent senses making you succumb to your inner most pleasures. How does one break away when you hear the sweet voice in your ear, calling to you, calling out your name. It's like the hot moans of lover that sends the chills down into your bones, or the delectable drink that puts you in the state of bliss and makes you forget all of the worlds troubles. No succubus, no doppelgangers, no threat against magic, no rifts to the abyss, all threats yet they no longer seem to even distract the attention.

If a patron asked the bartender from the Broken Goblet what he thought about fate, he would tell them..

"Fate is like the wind just like love is like the wind, you can't see it but you can feel it. And when yer feel it, it feels blimey scary"

Antagonist

“I'm often painted as the bad guy,
and the artistic part of me wants to hand out the brush.
Such is the great nature of man,
it resides the true face beneath a glittering masquerade.”

-The Fang Bearer

Image

The familiar salty taste of the wind hangs upon my lips. Roaringshore..my home. I long to return to it, to its lawless ways. Being in the city of Baldurs so long has its positives. But I step my foot on Roaringshore and see no guards, no Fist, no Watch I become overwhelmed with the sense of freedom. I see the many crows, some feasting upon the corps that hand on the big tree, some even hanging longer than I living here. But I am not ready to return home just yet. I came because I have some unfinish business that I need to conclude.

Image

I know soon I will shock many people, it will make some smile, it will make some glare but do I care? Of course not. For they know me not. If people expect me to be like them, follow their beliefs, and traditions their culture, then they are bloody idiots. Aye some has said I appear more than a mere bartender. Some believe if had shady ties with certain groups and originations or odd factions. But even still, they know me not nor my intentions or whom I really am. I am the bad man, I am what they think of me, or even what they dont think of me. I am not one to trust, and I am one who someone can trust. I am the protagonist that is also the antagonist, but I enjoy the latter more. And I keep firm to my morals and my own belief. I am a man of code, and I will not sway to swooning words. Others want to save the world, I much rather wish to correct it. There are those that wish for power and world dominance, I much rather manipulate it like a game. People wonder just whom I serve. Some think me a servant of tyranny, others think me a hired spy, yet I been rumored to also be a good man. They say I've slept with a hundred woman, but in truth do they even really know? They know nothing. Not a single thing about who I really am.

Image

People thought me an Inquisition from Amn, or a mere drug dealer, even a servant of devils. *Scoffs* They know nothing of whom I am, or whom I serve.

I am a bearer of Fang one of many...

And I only have one master.

The Scorn

“Keep calm when things don’t go according to your expectations.
Beautiful things always meet friction”

Meanwhile Someplace in Roaringshore....

Image

Bronwyn the Scorned: "No ... NO!" .....

Sel Darkmore: "Oi! Wots the blood hells is that!? Andy stop her!"
Andy's lackadaisical approach suddenly spurts into frantic scrambling with the keys as he tries to find the key that will unlock the door. Bronwyn looks up to Sel, and for a moment it doesn't look like anything's happening ...... that is until a steady stream of blood begins to pour out from the corners of her mouth.....
Sel Darkmore: "She's money! Make sure she doesn't die!"
Even Sel's practiced eyes have to take a moment to identify the correct key from among what seems like hundreds on Andy's keyring. More blood pours from Bronwyn's mouth as she bleeds out! But in a flash, the key's in the lock and the door's open!
Image

Sel Darkmore: "Oh no yer not darh'n...I been wait'in too long fer this!
Bronwyn offers no resistance as she continues to bleed out. She's on death's door. Sel is 100% certain that unless he somehow heals Bronwyn, she is going to die from blood loss.
Sel Darkmore: *He looks in his bag grabbing the one and only bandage kit he has to use and pulled what ever instrument to stop her bleedin since the tavern was warded by any magic use. Even a bundle of bloodstaunch poured onto the floor* "Shite!"

Andy: *Having shackled Bronwyn as instructed, Andy looks to Sel for instruction.* "It's not looking good, Boss!"

Sel Darkmore: "Aye! Lets get her out quickly I need a blimey healer!"
Bronwyn perishes. She lies dead on the ground.
Image

Sel Darkmore: "Bugga..." *He twtiches his nose then looks up at Andy* "Well..at least she be easier to haul..."

Andy: " ... ya want me ta haul her up somewhere, boss?"

Sel Darkmore: "Aye, take her outside, I'll bring her to Amn."

Andy: "Will do. Sorry boss." *Andy lugs the body to where Sel instructs.*

There are certain things you have control over and there are certain things you don’t have control over, but always remember one thing, nobody have control over everything and nobody knows tomorrow better than Gods. However somehow, someway, I knew things were not going to turn out they way I was hoping to have it turned out. I just didn't expected to be like this. As I carried the fugitive criminal mage back to Neskhal and turned her slumped bleeding corpse to the Inquisitions feet, I knew then once word gets out, some people are going to be quite upset. But if people think I will care, then they got another thing coming. Because I don't. I did want the Witch to have words with the priestess maybe even her own daughter. But I didn't expect to be hauling a blimey bloody corpse. Pity situation really. I nearly almost ...just almost... feel pity for the witches daughter....except that I remember how that little bugger tried to kill me. Guess the Mystran's are going to have their hands full, once the child learns that her mother is dead. Oh well, nae my fault, so I wont even bloody care.

The most hateful tears, will fall soon enough...
There's no furry like a child scorn..
