Re: Rumors of Greenest & The Uldoon Trail
Mere days after her death at Castus' hand, the alleged Sharran half-elf returns to Greenest. Those listening in on her conversations by the campfire might note that she seems fully recovered from both the physical and the mental aftermath of the fallen paladin's attack... though offhanded remarks about a wish by one of her companions may lead one to believe this was not through any innate resilience of her own, and that her mental recovery has been every bit as miraculous as her rescue and subsequent resurrection.
As her well of ideas runs dry, and more and more of her allies abandon her, Aela continues to move every piece she can into its proper place, resolved to complete her task at any cost: Turn Castus the Fallen away from his doomed crusade. Save him, before his swiftly growing array of enemies can position themselves for the killing blow. Though she tries to control its timing as much as everything else - hiding away whenever (if ever) she feels his aura wash over the village - with so few options left unexplored, it seems clear that this final confrontation will be won by the power of her words and the strength of her convictions...
... Or it will end in utter tragedy.

Gnollish Skirmish near Greenrest!
1st of Greengrass, 1360 DR
Word had spread along the trade routes of the Coast that a bitter fight between two gnoll clans had occurred on the Uldon Trail, near Greenrest, and more specifically, around the fallen mage tower. Caravans have given the area a wide berth and will likely continue to do so in the coming days, yet no caravans seem to have been attacked during this violent exchange. Naught but ash and charred gnoll bones remain around the tower once the pyres had died out.
Those more in the know ...
Spreading from the Friendly Arms Inn ...

Unrest in the Greenest
*Its no small knowledge that Flinds and half orc cultist are the most common threat in the Greenest. But when a very large amount of Flind result to tactical ambush attempts on travelers, or when a large group of outlaws and bandits try to use the advantage of such an ambush for their own gains one must to wonder what is amiss in the Greenest.

Rumors spread up and down Uldoon's Trail and the spreading words enters the local tavern in Greenest of such the event. Where Flind has gotten either more savagely bold then normal, and an increase of bandit attacks become big enough to be quite alarmed. A man and woman would had spread such ordeal when they entered the Inn with surprised expressions but grim all the same.*

"Careful out there travelers. I tellin ye, something got them stir'n.
And they were not play'n, they were swinging hard enough to cleave a head from shoulders.
Nae sure the two groups was in gahoots with each other. But they both were seeking to cause a brutal death."

Re: Rumors of Greenest & The Uldoon Trail
On account of recent events from Beregost the Archon of the Myradon Vindicators puts out a statement. In Beregost and the Friendly Arms Inn both.
Perhaps whatever reputation the Myradon Vindicators have with aiding the needy going as far as fighting the Amnian state might lead some credence to their message.Bastions Call
All people, Tieflings included, are always welcome to seek refuge with us. And any attacked in the Greenfields on behalf of such an indiscriminate call to violence disguised as bounty will be swiftly disposed of. This tradition of blaming everything on an entire people over the involvement of a single individual is as old as time itself, and merely a path to evil built on the shaky foundation of an "easy" solution built by fear to merely feel like one has control over a situation. Such a blatant unlawful call to murder of innocents across the coast is entirely unacceptable can only come either from a place of pure evil or blissful ignorance.
If any require aid to make it to our refuge they are free to make contact with us and such will be arranged.

Myradon Keep
With the planning and construction of the Myradon Vindicators keep in progress, word of hiring hands from Greenest and the local villages to aid in the construction starts to spread. With Archon Yuri Lichelina making contact with some of the locals out hunting or foraging to ask around. Word being fair compensation for their work, and the opportunity to work with and learn from Dwarven masons. A likely valuable and once in a lifetime opportunity for anyone aspiring in the region in and of itself.
Archon Yuri Lichelina had even been spotted with Bhor Stonecutter surveying the local geography no doubt looking over the site of the fort to be.

Re: Rumors of Greenest & The Uldoon Trail
In Greenest a cleric of Chauntea recently hired city mercenaries to remove the troubling presence of spiders ,arrived from the underdark and now in this eastern TV hamlets depriving many farms of production.
The matter satisfactorily resolved farm occupation and production resumed.
The payment it appears was a private matter and provided by the cleric from her own wealth.
Everyone except the spiders and whoever facilitated their arrival was content then.

Re: Rumors of Greenest & The Uldoon Trail
A dark trio was sighted by the sentinels of Greenest in the morning of the 5th Eleint 1360. Two of the three travelers emerging from the Sharp Teeth woods were clad in black armor, while the third member of the party appeared to be a masked mage in a long robe.
Despite their ominous appearance, the three only chatted for a while in front of the town's gate before moving south.

Later during the day, the party was spotted in the Greenfields, examining the fallen tower of Tyrelius for a great deal of time, discussing the nature of magic, history, and humanity.
Finally, the group fully dispersed southward, after moving past the Amnian border.

Re: Rumors of Greenest & The Uldoon Trail
On the 9th Eleint 1360 a group of four people, three of them elves, was seen emerging from the tavern in Greenest, following a dog. They meet up with another man, clad in armor, not far from the walls. After they had traveled west from Greenest, a strange batwinged creature descended from the sky and grabbed the dog, with several others of the same kind attacking the following group. During the brief skirmish one of the elves was almost kidnapped as well, however this fate was luckily averted.
With all the creatures slain, their bodies turning to foul ashes, the group turned towards the north-west into the forest, after meeting with yet another elf.

Elient 17th, 1360 - Sunset
The young ethran of Rashemen, Rivka, had been reclusive of late; ever since her last journey to Baldur's Gate, if any had been paying close heed. She goes about chores in the farmlands, glens, wild and wooded areas between Greenest and the Gate, but her heart seems numbed. Even at the Temple of Chauntea, where she has spent a great deal of time mixing medicines, food and rolling bandages for all who might need, the Harvestmistress cannot get her to reveal what has clouded her mind and mood.
As the sun sank beneath the horizon, Rivka set out to the wilds of the trail - finding a suitable place among the many small ruins that dot the landscape. The moon was waxing, approaching the Equinox - an auspicious time to begin an undertaking, to come to fullness with the peak of the power at that astrological event. She makes every effort to conceal the location from prying eyes, especially those of the nearby Flind. She gathers fruits, herbs, and sets up an altar, along a slab of ruined stone...here, she would dance and drum, breathing in smoke of the henbane, angelica, and amburworth - and commune with her spirits for guidance - guidance she desperately needs.

Re: Rumors of Greenest & The Uldoon Trail
Recently a mixed group of adventurers including elves, gnomes and a cleric of Silvanus undertook a search quest having learned of trapped refugees. They explored the depths of a cave battling past gnolls and down into hidden caves. there they found their trapped refugees from Amn. Bastion the cleric eventually persuaded them all of his chosen path of Silvanus and they were escorted out to safety. There it is said they settled in the wilderness near Greenest scavenging the land gracefully and trading with the town. The others in the party had their own reward in rare lost treasures held by the gnolls, or lost deeper in the depths. The surviving gnolls moved off to safer caves.

Re: Rumors of Greenest & The Uldoon Trail
Under the shadowed eaves of the deeper, pathless stretches of the Sharp Teeth wood, a hunter stalked a many-pronged stag, doubtless having seen many summers and winning many contests against other, lesser specimen. The chase was a slow one as the whitetail wandered in search of food, blissfully unaware of the elf's presence. The pursuit halted often as the beast rooted around the forest floor with its snout, sniffing out fallen acorns or bushes rife with fresh berries. Soundlessly placing arrow shaft to string, the hunter lifted the bow and drew the missile back, a timeless motion as the sun wheeled overhead, all but blocked from sight by the dense, fluttering canopy of autumnal leaves.

"Patience," Laethelas reminded himself in thought as he lowered the bow again, his line of sight hampered by thick foliage. More watching. More waiting. And then, at once after countless silent breaths and thumping heartbeats, the chase resumed and the deer sought onward for a new clearing to forage.
And so the hours of harbright waned toward elsun, the cool morning air thickening with a warmth that lingered from the end of summer. The fragrance of the forest drifted through the elf's half-mask that covered his nose and mouth. Sweat began to run in tracks from his forehead, leaving steaks of bare skin beneath the camouflaging paint he had smeared across his eyes and brow. Eventually the unrelenting clusters of trees began to give way to more sparsely-forested clearings as the deer led the hunter toward the Uldoon Trail, and opportunity presented itself. The buck had found itself a thick bush teeming with blackberries, the last its tongue would ever taste of the earth's sweet bounty. Up went the elf's bow once more, breath drawn as slowly as the string and held just as securely.

"Thank you, majestic one," the elf thought in reverence as he set his sight. "Your sacrifice shall be honored by those to whom you bring nourishment. May your spirit wander borderless woods evermore, and find fulfillment in this noble end." Then, with a brief whistle from the arrow breaking the silence of the late morning, it struck the deer on its broad side, below the shoulder, piercing the heart for an instantaneous and clean kill. Hoisting the kill over his shoulder, the hunter made his way carefully through the hillside, avoiding the eyesight of the flinds and ogre-orcs that haunted the rolling hills and fields as he made for Greenest to clean his prize.

A figure encircled by a swirling circle of shadows, unseen by natural means on account of the Invisibility spell cloaking her from the world, treads the grass on the meadow on her way to the target she selected previously: a wild horse, a creature of rare beauty, all-black glossy coat of thick fur glistening under the silvery pale moonlight. Holding the holy symbol of her dark deity aloft, she speaks an incantation and immediately the innocent animal finds itself under the effect of a powerfully disabling Solipsism spell. Hours later, the sun rises to shine upon the figure's ghastly handiwork - a severed black horse head stuck on a spear adorns the sylvan landscape, not far from rural human settlements. Pinned to the spear's shaft, a message written in blood in an exceedingly elegant hand:
Death to all things touched by the harlot Mystra.
A dark deed has been done in the Nightsinger's name. This night, the Church of Shar rejoices!

While on his regular patrol of the Trail, the elven ranger Laethelas encountered the grim display, overwhelmed by horror at the sight and with grief for the suffering of the majestic animal. He communicated his finding to his mate with urgency, and then set himself to searching the area for tracks or some sign of the perpetrator while awaiting her arrival.

Re: Rumors of Greenest & The Uldoon Trail
After investigating the gruesome display with Rivka - Laethelas himself searching for physical clues while she tried to detect any lingering magic - the couple had traveled to Baldur's Gate to bring news of the discovery to the temple of the Lady of Mysteries. Rivka then remained at the library to scour the tomes for additional answers, while Laethelas returned to the Uldoon Trail for a closer examination of the surrounding area. The severed head was left alone until others of more sophisticated experience with the Weave could arrive, and so Laethelas merely went over the ground once more, scanning meticulously for any tracks that might reveal the direction from which this blasphemer had come ((Survival mod 34)).

Re: Rumors of Greenest & The Uldoon Trail
In the dark hours before the dawn, Rivka and Laethelas prepare to leave Greenest, heading East across the Western Heartlands, to far off Rashemen. Rivka has spent much of the weeks leading up to this ensuring that the Temple of Chauntea had plenty of food stored and preserved for winter, medicines and bandages, furs and other goods to hand out to those in need as the weather worsens. She spent some time before heading out, conversing with the High Harvestmistress about the concerning sacrifice left in the fields, as well as the rumors of the Frostmaiden's faithful stirring more in the Cloud Peaks. She warns her against particular individuals she's seen come through Greenest, and advises having supplies on hand for repairs should sudden, heavy snows do damage to the homes nearby.
Laethelas had spent recent weeks digging in with the Commons militia, teaching them all he could with what time remained in the the use of the bow - a skill that, beyond self-defense, would provide the Commons with a means of self-sufficiency for food come winter. Elsewhere, the ranger busied himself with leaving offerings at the shrines of Mielikki that stood spread throughout the region; arrows, healing kits, camouflage potions, and trapper's supplies were left, each with a gesture of three claps and a bow with a prayer to Khelliara on his lips. He gives his own last goodbyes to these places, as the pair set out across Cormyr and Sembia, and farther still...to hopefully return, come Spring.
