Due to a number of factors both personal and otherwise I have decided to retire from the DM team. The last 4 and a bit years as a DM and formerly HDM have been a wild ride to say the least. I've made some pretty cool friends and connections and I can safely say the DM team has been in amazing hands for pretty much the time I've been part of it, and I have no doubt will continue to be going forward for however long this personal favourite corner of the internet continues to truck on.
The truth here is, despite my best efforts of trying to really make myself want to continue I just am not feeling the motivation and draw I once did, and if we're being honest its been a while since I have. Various factors have played into this but the big one is my health. The majority of you don't know this ( but a select few do.) but my health has been declining over the last couple of years. A few weeks ago in September this culminated in a pretty close brush with dying and ending up waking up in an emergency cardiac ambulance. It caused some damage and I even had to relearn some words because they just kind of...disappeared from my mind. It was not a good experience. Again, yesterday I had another "episode" though not as big. At the moment though I am getting a bunch of treatment and stuff that I need so I will probably continue to stick around for a while yet. This was none the less an eye opening moment for me, and between some of the most recent negative experiences on the server when it comes to how players treat their DM's (
Please, I beg of you all, BE NICER.), and honestly just wanting to do other things than dedicating hours of my free time to this, I really have to think a lot more now about how I spend my free time these days.
I will probably still be dipping in as a player for now, though I cant promise how often or how much I will end up dedicating to that, as the server has made quite a drastic shift toward Euro time zones which is pretty much the opposite of me over on the west coast of Canada

I will be sticking around until the end of October and wrapping things up, and then after that I will be done with my time here as DM. As a player my name is Rask ( for the few that didn't know. ) and ill likely still be seeing you from time to time on that side. If there is anything you need before then from me, please let me know, I still have tuesdays of each week ( and to some extent, Wednesdays too ) pretty open for anything until that point.
