Need External 24/7 hosted download link for mod

Just tried bringing in two new players (since i recently returned from being gone 2 years). Downloading from straight direct connect is the slowest thing I have ever seen... both of them spent over 2 hours and eventually gave up. The loading bars do not make sense (2465 / 750mbs and climbing.. to then go back down at an incredible 5kbs per second....)
My recommendation as I would assume we would like new players..

1.) BIG Announcement where to go when trying to direct connect (even an html link)
2.) That link having every needed file in specific zips.
3.) Link to 7zip (cause some peoples kids)
4.) specific instructions or even a youtube video of how to..
5.) Big huge link in this forum as well as the wiki
6.) Link buttons on direct connect to the wiki, and forum be smart as well..

Its 2025 and I was blown away at how slow our beautiful game mod downloads.. That is brutal and will turn away people..
Searched all over the forum and wiki and could not find up to date version of the mod. Shoot nexus mods could host it if we need. Anything is better then what I just witnessed, and hoping my friends are willing to give another try.

Hello!

I took your suggestions and added the server address for direct connect to the main page of the wiki. Yeah...kinda silly that wasn't already there, as it is at the top of this Forum.

Fortunately, not everyone has such painfully slow downloads are you are experiencing. In the past BGTSCC has, at least yearly, put up the current mod files for external download, and then a player just needs to update during the year. But BGTSCC has been going through some major changes lately and some things are difficult to keep an eye on.

Having some form of Knowledge channel for at least redirect to this Forum on Discord is probably also a good idea.

Lastly...many things your suggested can be helped by the community to do, not just the Admin or Staff (for example, I try my best to "take care" of the wiki, but I'm not Staff). Honestly, BGTSCC really only survives on the help of everyone to keep the boat afloat. Cheers.

Everything is here viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2638 including a link to my onedrive folder where all the files needed for the server are, it's updated about as much as I update it myself. It automatically downloads as a zip and the folders are 1:1 so all you need to do is drag them to the /documents/nwn2 root.

It looks like the IP on that page is also incorrect; maybe something to update since Goat announced a new IP.

This right here. So yeah if we already have something like this community style, maybe we could have that shown and kept as priority in case other get some horrid download speeds for the game ( imean 1 gb fiber ethernet going at 20kbs KBS! slow..). Especially i was thinking this because NWN2EE (in development right now). This could see a huge new player base and returning player base come to the game. With Baldurs Gate 3 success this server and mod is 100% going to see a major uplift once that happens. For good or bad

Do you use the Client Extension? That speeds up the Download very much! Also, if you have a bad connection, disconnect and reconnect, the download speed sometimes varies greatly, a simple reconnect can see a great improvement!

Did not know that, and honestly they did not have client extension. (I do from many many moons ago). So would be great information for new players as well etc.
Just thinking more in lines for new players as the OG's know all the ins and outs and not going to have many issues ever. Whereas someone brand new could throw their hands up and walk away etc. I do not know for developers how involved adding more buttons to lobby page, or information would be. Just food for thought I guess.
