Ni Habati

Hailing from far north - an escapee from a pre-arranged marriage to a warlord she never met in person - stowaway, dumped onto Gate's docks with not much else but her clothes on.

Some "notable" skills / features:
- stunningly beautiful (the looks to kill for or to die for); CHA 32 (35-36 with gear/buffs)
- terrific artist (painting, drawing)
- singing (not much of a lyrics writer, however); Perform 93+
- dancing (formal and "informal")
- diplomacy skill (IC at least; RL skill varies...)
- non-adventurer (more a "misadventurer") and able to get lost very easily
- gentle, and an almost merry demeanor
- there is a certain "wealthy" upbringing flair to her - sheltered, naive

IC Profile
NOTE: all DM-only information has been omitted from this snippet.
DMs have the full version.

IC inquiries in-game are naturally welcome, of course.

Full name: Nirnobel o-Habati bui Leogeiros, aka "Ni Habati", or "Ni"
Age: 21; b.d.: 4 Ches
Race: half-elf
Sex: Female
Last residence: Mirabar
Alignment: N/N* with N/G leaning
Profession: Noble*, Artist (painter, singer)
Classes: Bard (non-traditional: concert hall professional more than your everyday "bard")
Languages: Elven, Loross*, Dwarvish, Illuskan, Sylvan (and Common).

Physical description:
She is a stunningly beautiful (32 base CHA; 36 w/+4), delicate girl with green eyes and blond/bone-white neck-length hair that flows somewhat "wild". She has a "delicate" build, to some degree, but the curves are at just the right places. She isn't terribly tall with 5'4".

Psychological description:
A jovial, gentle and carefree spirit which prefers no-stress life. She's difficult to upset and extremely easy to cheer up. She's curious and a bit of an explorer. Also non-judgmental, in general.

Ni is a rather relaxed persona who gets along with just about almost anyone (partially reflecting into her relatively high Diplomacy skill among other things). She is sheltered and naive, and anything but wise. She is open minded to a great many things (for better or worse), but she wouldn't voluntarily interact with so-called "monstrous" or "evil" races (including Orcs, most Drow, et al).

Even though her life has been rather sheltered, she has (due reading a lot) always dreamed of seeing new places and people - and now that she got a taste of actual exploration (relatively speaking), there's no hunkering back into shelter, she'd get restless and/or wither.

She lives on day-by-day basis without a lot of (or any) actual plan to it - she goes with the flow. However, one of her desires is to make peoples' lives happier - which (with her skills or lack of such thereof) is easiest to attain via art: singing and painting, possibly dance and poetry. She has a bit of a soft spot for children, and even though most of her songs are meant for just about everyone, she writes some specifically for kids.

Aside singing, painting is her second most "obvious" passion - a lot of her exploration trips invariably have her looking for inspiration about what to paint next. Although she is a generalist in what she paints, she prefers nature and landscapes.

As much as she prefers cozy life, there is a certain pull in the wilds which she enjoys.

Religious views:
The only hint about her favorite goddess is the rather ever-present necklace (with a clearly recognizably symbol of Sune) she wears.

Biography

Family
  • father: Hagre Leogeiros (elf, wizard/scholar), "ancient". While a powerful wizard, he is also a skilled social strategist. He understands the importance of connections and he actively cultivated relationships with other noble families. His influence is subtle, using his arcane expertise and charm to maneuver.
  • mother: Annan Habati (half-elf, singer)
  • brother#1: Arbellan o-Habati bui Leogeiros (half-elf, merchant), 17 years older than Ni.
  • brother#2: Nelaer o-Habati bui Leogeiros (half-elf, diplomat-to-be), 15 years older than Ni.
  • brother#3: Faorn o-Habati bui Leogeiros (half-elf, wizard-to-be), 8 years older than Ni.
History
Borne to the noble family of Leogeiros as their fourth child. Her life has been just as sheltered as one would expect, but not without some elven flavor in the upbringing. Life before BG was a rich tapestry woven with threads of noble upbringing, artistic exploration, and a growing awareness of the world beyond her sheltered existence.

At home they always spoke either Elven or, mainly, Loross, the second of which was a "relic" from days when Ni's father was a young lad and thus rather dear to him. Ni learned also Common, Dwarven and Illuskan, mainly due her father's relations with various people who came to visit or whom Ni visited in tow of her father.

She was always more her father's daughter, following him almost everywhere (if and when allowed to). Among the activities with her dad was fishing (dad fished, she watched), following him and others on short hunts (she mainly just rode along), listening him to read her tales and to play various games with her.

With mother she spent time less than with her father, but loves her nonetheless just the same. Mother was the one who initially taught her to sing and to dance.

0 to 13
Up to age of thirteen her days were a carefully orchestrated blend of learning and creativity within the familiar walls of their manor. A handful of dedicated tutors (in particular Master Elmsworth (human), Lyra Moonwhisper (elf), Mistress Anya (human), and Eldrin Meadowlight (half-elf)) guided her through various subjects aside arcante (by father) and arts (by mother). Hagre's influence was present even in these early years, as he subtly guided Ni's education, ensuring she acquired the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the social circles she was destined to inhabit. He emphasized diplomacy, courtly etiquette, and the importance of understanding the power dynamics within noble society.

She hadn't a whole lot of friends - at least none beyond those of about her age that were children of other nobles. She saw her few friends only occasionally, generally only during various parties, festivals and other such occasions. Interactions with the outside world were limited and carefully supervised, offering only fleeting glimpses to commoner life, and largely remained within the comforting boundaries of their estate. Beyond that, her understanding of the world and people was gleaned only through literature (some of which rather "questionable" in nature...).

Ni found her truest expression in the arts - her canvases began to capture serene landscapes and her musical talents blossomed, her singing voice possessing an almost ethereal quality.

Up to 17
At teenage years the scope of her education broadened, and her artistic pursuits deepened. Master Elmsworth delved into more complex political theories and the intricacies of inter-noble relations, preparing her for the social and diplomatic expectations of her station. Lyra refined her linguistic skills. Eldrin's lessons became advanced musical instruction, exploring complex harmonies and performance techniques.

Ni's painting evolved, her canvases reflecting a growing maturity in her observation of the world and her ability to capture its nuances. Her singing voice matured, gaining richness and depth, capable of conveying a wider range of emotions.

Hagre's influence became more pronounced during these years, as he began to involve Nirnobel more directly in social gatherings, subtly teaching her the art of networking and the importance of cultivating strategic alliances. He saw her beauty and talents as assets to be utilized, subtly shaping her social interactions to his advantage. Social interactions became more significant during these years. While still largely within the circles of nobility and wealth, Ni began to navigate these gatherings with a growing awareness of social dynamics and the subtle power plays inherent in such settings.

Her stunning beauty drew considerable attention, leading to both admiration and a sense of distance. She experienced a few tentative romantic encounters, fleeting moments that ultimately lacked deeper connection, leaving her with a growing understanding of the superficiality that often accompanied her striking appearance. Annan began to subtly introduce the idea of suitable marriages, highlighting the importance of alliances and securing the family's future, and now and then tried to push Ni "the right direction" (even arrange dates or alike). Ni, however, found herself increasingly drawn to her artistic pursuits as a means of self-expression and a potential path beyond the expected societal norms.

The wider world began to impinge more directly on her sheltered life.

18+ & Mirabar
The arrival of the Times of Trouble in 1358 DR acted as a stark and sudden catalyst, shattering the familiar tranquility. Whispers of political unrest and the growing tensions in the neighborhood outside Silverymoon reached their secluded estate. The practice of magic, while a part of her father's life, became a more hushed topic as rumors of suspicion and persecution began to circulate. Father made a drastic and swift decision to seek refuge in Mirabar, just in case, marking the abrupt end of Ni's carefully cultivated adolescence in Silverymoon.

The abrupt move to Mirabar plunged her into the gritty reality of a bustling mining city, a stark and jarring contrast to the serene elegance of her former life. Mirabar, carved from the rock and perpetually echoing with the clang of hammers and the rumble of ore carts, assaulted her senses with a rawness she had never imagined.

Socially, Mirabar was a landscape dominated by wealth derived from the mines and the authority of the dwarven and human leaders who oversaw them. While her noble lineage still held a degree of respect, it was often secondary to demonstrable wealth and influence within the city's power structures. Her stunning looks were met with a more direct and very often less courtly gaze from the city's inhabitants, boldness that was both unsettling and at times intriguing. The move to Mirabar thrust her into direct contact with a far more diverse populace than she had ever encountered.

Her artistic pursuits, once nurtured in the tranquil atmosphere of their estate, now struggled to find their place amidst the city's relentless industry. While she might have found pockets of noble patronage interested in her painting and singing, the dominant culture of Mirabar was one of practicality and hard work, where fine art was seen as a frivolous pursuit by some.

Since turning 18, Ni's life was a process of intense and often uncomfortable adaptation.

21'ish
Mother, behind Ni's back, arranged a marriage to happen between Ni and another lord's son. However, after Ni learned about the marriage arrangement, she bolted - no one had asked her opinion, and as far as she knew, she had never even met her husband-to-be - and without thinking anything through she ran right away to the stables and jumped on the first horse available. At the docks, where she stopped, she noted a very peculiar looking and right then crewless ship, and out of sheer curiosity (and part to distract herself) she went to check it. To her chagrin the ship left the docks while she was exploring the equally peculiar insides of the vessel - and it did not stop even once before BG.
