Re: Warrior's Rest RP (Tavern at the Bladestone Foundation)
Around two months ago, an air genasi bearing Selunite insignia and a golden-scaled wood elf arrived at the Warrior's Rest. Keeping mostly to themselves, they seemed either unable or unwilling to do much more than help out with minor errands, occasionally mixed in with a word of comfort from the Selunite.
However, as rumors of recent events and visitors reach her, the air genasi starts readying herself to venture back out into the calamity-stricken world...

Re: Warrior's Rest RP (Tavern at the Bladestone Foundation)
Shortly after the massive battle at Doron Amar that routed the orcs and slew the demonically influenced Green Dragon, Derik Ranloss is observed entering the building on the Way of the Lion for the first time since the fight with Bhaal in the north. He is alone.
After greeting a few staff he disappears upstairs into the office.
Both of his arms are present.

Re: Warrior's Rest RP (Tavern at the Bladestone Foundation)
*A day ago Niyressa and Lylan can be seen at the Inn area, sitting down with a gnome man and a human woman, some might recognize them as two of the mages saved in the aftermath of the Nashkel mage hunter trap. They talk for a bit, about their interest in joining Bladestone Foundation and about help with finding the gnome's missing brother from Amn and the woman's interest in new and exotic knowledge. Niyressa then asks them some questions for their personnel profiles while Lylan brings in cookies, that the gnome ravenously scarfs down. After some time the four split again, but it seems Bladestone Foundation is having two new mages join their new magical department.*

Re: Warrior's Rest RP (Tavern at the Bladestone Foundation)
A large shipment of various purple flowers arrived at the Foundation and Warrior's Rest today. It wasn't labeled for trade at the cart stop, but rather noted the Foundation as the destination point.
None of the staff present seemed to know why, including the Headmaster. He was seen heading into the Sharp Teeth towards Doron Amar shortly after...

Re: Warrior's Rest RP (Tavern at the Bladestone Foundation)

A young elf comes in from outside, she is dressed in sturdy but beautifull clothes in tones of gold and silver. SHe has long golden hair tied in a high tail, silver eyes and golden skin. the night has fallen a few hours ago and no one exept the employees are in the room. She moves toward the barmaid to ask for a room. She has a few rapier on herself, clothes easy to move in and a magical helmet on her head. She also has pouches like a mage, she is an enigma. She will talk a bit about the fondation since she heard of it from someone else. She likes martial arts and would like to know if she can train with them for the time she will be around.

Re: Warrior's Rest RP (Tavern at the Bladestone Foundation)
The man behind the bar and guards around would all be happy to talk about the Baldestone Foundation with the girl. She would easily learn that Bladestone is indeed a martial academy and they train most weapons and styles. Right now their rapier specialist is Lylan'Synor also known as Lilly, but they recently exapanded into magic training as well with miss Niyressa. Derik and Adrian, specialized in shield style and small weapons respectively, are also among their teaching staff currently. She can enroll as a student or pick classes whenever she feels like it, so there is good flexibility. As such, the elven girl is told that she can feel free to approach any of them or leave a letter. Also she is more than welcome to stay at the inn in of their rooms, if she wishes.
//Always happy to get into some RP, all of us, you can try to catch us in game so just send a tell if you see us, or set up something with a PM, that's more realiable probably, we can be on sporadicaly, sometimes every day and sometimes not so much.

Re: Warrior's Rest RP (Tavern at the Bladestone Foundation)
Over the course of the past few tendays, Tiawyn has become a frequent visitor to the Warrior's Rest. The reason readily apparent after a few repeated visits: Adrian. These past few days she has been sighted even more frequently than previously. With good reason too. The school is hosting an event, and she's there to help.
After an inspection of the food stocks on hand, they draw up grocery lists, and set to shopping. Runners are sent to the merchants the school typically use, requesting bulk orders, while the two of them track down the specialties. Sometimes even teleporting great distances to get what they need.
Then the preparation begins in earnest, and the Warrior's Rest kitchen is partly annexed for all the food stuffs needed for the event. Over the course of a few days, food and drink is prepared, while somehow also managing to feed the staff, students, and visitors. Help is graciously accepted, as it is no small thing to get everything prepared in time.
Anyone peeking into the kitchen during this time, or helping out, will often see Adrian receiving instructions from a very patient Tiawyn. It's quite clear that she's doing most of the work between them, somehow managing more than should be possible. It almost seems magical at times.

*As the storm rages on, Niyressa can often be seen walking around the grounds and the camp, using minor spells like Harden to protect the roof and walls where tear seems to accumulate more, and where damage is already done she uses Mend to fix up the Inn*

As the storm abates and the Lion's Way is washed with sunlight, Lylan'Synor would be out before the gates, inspecting the area..
Soon enough, the sun elf can be seen on the road; dancing a lithe ballet to the sun. A thankful smile on her lips as she chants in elven thanks to the gods for the beauty of warm weather, and sunlight.

Re: Warrior's Rest RP (Tavern at the Bladestone Foundation)

With everything that's going on around the coast, and with the spring weather finally arriving, The Bladestone Foundation has decided to bring everyone together for a few nights of bouts and fun. As anyone going into battle knows, you need to keep your skills sharp, have some enjoyment along the way, and it never hurts to boast a little, therefore, starting now we will be hosting a series of events, leading up to the summer, that hopefully accomplish all three! Starting with a proper martial tourney, leading to a series of mage duels and culminating in an open stage night of drinks, jokes and tomfoolery. Whether you are warrior, scout, mage or jokester, please join us for any or all at the Warrior's Rest! The first two events will be focused on the test of skill while the last should serve as a proper space to unwind and embrace the summer spirit. There will be about 2-3 tendays space between the events, with details posted separately for each. Every event will offer drinks and food in the inn proper, along with exotic refreshments provided both at the inn and the arena, so even if you don't come to fight, come join us to enjoy others' prowess and some delicacies and luxury.
For the first we will be starting with a martial tourney, specific rules will be announced at the start of the tourney, some depending on how many people will sign up, so we would like to ask each who thinks of joining to make sure to come properly at the beginning for a sign up. For prizes, you will receive tokens that will offer the aforementioned bragging rights, with a mysterious but fun grand prize for the winner. The martial tourney will welcome anyone in any walk of life, be it a warrior or scout or other. You can bring a bow if you like but you will be restricted to the size of the arena, and lastly for the ones depending on guile, there will be limit on how long you can stay hidden in your smoke bombs and twisting shadows.
So everyone come and join us at the WARRIOR's REST, on ((Sunday, the 4th of May)) at ((18 GMT, that is GMT not BST)) and we hope you enjoy yourself!
*if you have trouble finding Warrior's Rest, it is the compound just on the path to Candlekeep

Re: Warrior's Rest RP (Tavern at the Bladestone Foundation)
Rules for the martial tournament upcoming are posted with a note that a Magic Tournament will be following at a later date for the more magically inclined as well:
Any questions may be directed to Derik Ranloss.Rules for the Martial Tournament:
- 4 wards allowed, to be cast before Fight is called unless they are VERY short duration/instants. Must be self-applied via wand, scroll, or own abilities.
- No dispell casting allowed.
- No grenades/area weapons. They hit the spectators.
- Stealth may be used (HIPS) indefinitely but counts as 1 ward.
- Shapeshift may be used, but counts as 2 wards. Shapeshift may not be combined with Growth. We don't have the room, sorry.
- Wards may be refreshed 1 time during the fight each. (IE: if mirror image/stoneskin gets hacked through. EDM wears off, etc.)
- No copies, simulacrums, etc. This is a fight to see how well YOU are martially, not your magic.
- You MUST (even when in stealth) remain in the combat square.
- Using Fear effects to cause you opponent to run outside the combat square will NOT disqualify them. But if you chase them outside, it /will/ disqualify YOU.
- Be aware that the Magic User Tournament is coming up afterwards at a later date to showcase all your spells and prowess there. This is for hitting people with chunks of (usually) metal, sharpened or otherwise.

Re: Warrior's Rest RP (Tavern at the Bladestone Foundation)

As promised, on the heels of the Bladestone Foundation Martial Tourney, we are now announcing our planned Spell Duel Tournament! As some of you may or may not know, a Mage Duel is both a competition and a Mystran ceremony. A Mage Duel is an opportunity for those of us that tap into weave, to show our skill, to learn and exchange knowledge and ideas while testing our mettle. As such you can expect this event to be lead by a small give of thanks to the Lady of Mysteries, followed by a competition and hopefully a grand show of the wonders of magic. As all magic on material plane taps into weave, I would like to invite anyone, who considers themself a spellcaster, be it arcane, divine or any in between, to come and participate, show us their skill and give small thanks to our Lady for the wonders we receive thanks to her and her line. In a similar vein, as bardic music is derived from magic and Words of Creation, it and bardic abilities derived from it, will be considered magic for purposes of this duel. I also invite all of you who want to watch the beauty of magic to come and cheer us on, to enjoy exotic refreshments and be merry.
With that being said, any and all who use magic may participate in the Spell Duel Tournament, however please keep in mind that as this is a Mage Duel, magic is the key element that will lead to victory. Rules being as follows:
1) No weapons may be used in the Duel, with the exception of weapons created by a spell, like Enchanted Blade, or Shapechange. Unarmed combat may only be used to deliver a spell's effect to your enemy.
2) No scrolls, potions, wands, staffs or other magical implements will be allowed, as this is a competition of magic, not traders and coinpurses.
3) At the start of each Duel, up to 3 wards will be allowed in preparation and more can be cast during the duel, if both participants agree on lower starting number, they may follow such agreement.
4) Area spells will be allowed, however only in the case that they fit within the confines of the arena, if your spell overflows from the arena, or misfires or otherwise threatens the spectators or the building, you will be immediately disqualified even should your spell otherwise net you win, please bear this in mind and if you are not sure about your spell's size, use another.
5) Other mundane skills such as shadowdancing will be allowed, as long as they are not a physical attack on your opponent. For example you may use the likes of shadows to prepare a spell or deliver an attack with your Enchanted Blade, but you may not use grapples, knockdowns and such.
6) Leaving the arena during a duel substitutes a resignation, an opponent may be forced to leave the arena to same effect, but only as long as such is a result of a spell.
7) Conjuring allies is allowed, inlcuding familiars, they are exempt from the confines of the arena, but should they in any way threaten the spectators or the building you will be disqualified.
We are looking forward to see you all at the Warrior's Rest Inn on ((Sunday the 25th of May, at 19:00 GMT, I am moving the start up by 1h to perhaps allow more people to participate, since the last event didn't take up as long as I thought it might)).

Murder at Bladestone Gates!
//May 25th
*a note is left in the records of the Bladestone foundation*
On the eve of 23 Mirtul the mage Ishsahn was murdered by an unknown assailant . The murderer left "A crude representation of a Cyric holy symbol pinned to the corpse of Ihsahn".
The murderer came back to the scene and threatened Miss Arael and Jinni who had come upon the body. After a fight the murderer was subdued and claimed to murder both Magus Ishsahn and Duke Entar of Baldur's Gate. The murdering fiend refused to identify herself or provide any useful information. The fiend boasted if turned over to the Fist, she would be free in a day.
During the questioning of the murderer, the mage Ishsahn was resurrected, and later advocated for a more proper due process and trial of the murderer.
The murderers obvious guilt, unrepentant nature, attitude was infuriating to some of those who were present. With her having murdered a patron of the Bladestone Foundation at the Gates of the Bladestone Foundation, Deputy Headmistress Lylan'Synor choose to execute the unknown fiend on the spot.
After some discussion, it was decided to deliver the corpse of the murderer to the Flaming Fist headquarters in Baldur's Gate. This was done, along with the note the murder left behind, and the bolts the murderer fired from her crossbow.
//OOC not sure how to deal with the above without metaing the NPCs at the flaming fist head quarters
