Physical description:

Jax is slightly above average height with a fit, slender build. His hair is light brown and his eyes are blue. He's handsome in a conventional sort of way, but not especially remarkable for any particular physical or facial feature. He carries himself confidently but unobtrusively, moving in a fluid, efficient style. When he speaks, his voice is medium-toned, almost invariably calm, and usually quite cheerful.

JJax is defiant in his joy and optimism about virtually everything. This optimism works in his favor much of the time, but it also leads him to make questionable decisions. This is especially true in matters involving his own personal safety.

He looks for the joy in every moment. He's quick with a joke, even, or especially at his own expense. Biography

Family

Jax is the oldest child of a warehouse worker named Avery and a baker's assistant named Clara. They had one other daughter, Lili, born 5 years after Jax. His parents remain in Arabel.

History

Jax's history is exactly what would be considered typical for a poor child living in a large city. He was a good kid, but he prioritized his own survival and that of his sister. That meant occasionally breaking the rules, and he had no qualms about that. His sister died when he was 15 years old, leaving both he and his parents distraught, and Jax to more-or-less fend for himself.

He was taken in, (in a manner of speaking), by a kind old man in his neighborhood that Jax has always described as being "fascinated with the world, but xenophobic". This man educated him, helped to teach him several languages, and eventually set him on a path that would define his life in his mid-twenties. At that time, the old man asked him to travel to the Sword Coast and to record the things he found there.

Jax spent a year traveling through Calimport, and then began making his way up the Coast, until he finally reached Baldur's Gate.
