Loot Advice
So, at the end of the day, for a level 30 character, what’s the best grinding zone to hopefully find some epic items or at least gear with above-average stats?

Re: Loot Running
Might have been better off making a new post asking for advice as this is very old. There are areas in that late epics that can be soloed or you can get a small group of people to run.Sean Maxhell wrote: ↑Mon Nov 10, 2025 11:34 am So, at the end of the day, for a level 30 character, what’s the best grinding zone to hopefully find some epic items or at least gear with above-average stats?
Most commonly people will run:
Lizard Cave
Reaching wood
Frost giant keep (harder solo)
Pirate island (don’t expect to solo)
Skull Gorge (don’t expect to solo)
Vault of the dead (unsure as I don’t run this myself)
I run around a couple of areas invisible and easily make 50k minimum a day. The amount of gold you can expect to make depends on your build and reliance on consumables.
An epic can typically be found every 2-3 pirate island runs. Finding something good or RNG generated is even rarer.

Ok, thanks for the quick reply. But I have a slightly more uncomfortable question for you, if you’re able to answer. So, I know Reaching Wood, I didn’t think it was one of the best spots; I usually raid Orzogoth’s Ziggurat.doctorsimon4 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 10, 2025 11:47 amMight have been better off making a new post asking for advice as this is very old. Frost Giant Keep I assume is the fortress accessed from the Cloud Peaks.
The other three locations you mentioned, honestly, despite my exploring, I’m not sure where they are or how to get there. Could you give me some directions on how to reach them?

If you DM me on discord I can provide further details. You might also get more engagement if you ask in discord as that is where the looter fiends tend to hang outSean Maxhell wrote: ↑Mon Nov 10, 2025 11:55 amOk, thanks for the quick reply. So, I soloed the Frost Giant Fortress and killed the Jarl.doctorsimon4 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 10, 2025 11:57 amIf you DM me on discord I can provide further details. I wouldn’t call his treasures a joke, more like an insult.
Given the effort required, it’s absolutely not worth it. The whole fortress has too few chests to be worth returning to.
I’ve been to the Pirate Island and killed every living thing on it. Every pathetic pirate king. Here, too, too many fights for such a long path littered with crates mostly containing scrolls and potions. Disappointing. The only noteworthy thing might be the 5,000 coins the kings drop, but come on—I can make 5,000 coins just by collecting trash from the low-level lizardfolk north of Soubar.
The Vault, if you mean the one on the road to Amn—also scattered and not very rewarding.
Now I just need to figure out where to find the Lizard Cave, unless you’re referring to the Yuan-ti Temple east of Orzogoth, and this Skull Gorge.

Re: Loot Advice
Crappy loot is default just about everywhere. You're lucky if you get 1 good thing every 20-30 full runs on epic areas.
I actually like how rare really good items are. Otherwise everyone would have them.
There's always:

If you need to check what has high CR tho as far as I know it's player made list and not something taken directly from behind the scenes database.
