Lilly was born in Gullykin on 09/03/1336, to William and Tilda Mudtoe, a prominent, successful couple who own a florist shop. They have five children the youngest being Lilly. Her older siblings are all boys. Basil the oldest, Ren, Willow and Reed. She grew up in an ideal perfect family, around flowers and beauty. Her family and community loved and supported each other. She had a perfect childhood, and she knew it. So, she decided she wanted to give back to the world and when she was old enough, she left in the protective company of her oldest brother Basil, in search of a Temple of Ilmater. A human god that she had learned about from the teachings of local priests. Ilmater fascinated her. How could someone be so selfless and giving that he would suffer for others to relieve their suffering. Lilly decided to stay at the Temple and her brother went home. There she learned many ways to heal and nurture the body and soul of many living things. She learned that she was not meant to suffer along with the suffering, to share their pain, but to heal them and bring joy and happiness.
When the time came for her to leave. Her oldest brother Basil once again came to escort her. On the way she was tasked to stop at a Temple in Waterdeep. While there in Waterdeep one night while her brother was off exploring a local tavern, Lilly went for a stroll. She was sitting on a cold stone bench outside the temple when a small red breasted finch landed near her, chirped once, flew up and plucked the flower of a blood lily as it flew away. Stunned Lilly took it as a sign and followed in the direction of the bird. She lost sight of the bird but found herself at the entrance of a dark alleyway. Praying for light on herself she lit up the dark alley revealing a small, crumpled figure laying in a large puddle of blood. Pulling away the bloody clothes she noticed it was one of her kind. A halfling maybe even a Strongheart like her. She checked for signs of life and found some very faint and fading. She tore off pieces of her robes and made bandages tying them around the wounds where she could, stopping the blood flow. Gathering up her strength she dragged him to the temple. There she was better able to clean him up, stitch him and dress him in proper bandages.
The next day when her brother came for her to finish their trip home to Gullykin she refused to leave her still unconscious patient at the temple. The High priest there charged her with taking her patient home with her. He knew that the patient was in dire trouble and would need constant observation and tender care for several months if he was to live. So, Basil loaded the patient on to a litter and helped to carry Lilly's ward home.
William and Tilda were happy to have their little Lilly home with them again, and they were and still are very proud of what she is becoming. The bearing of her ward concerned them, but they were more than happy to help in any way they could. Then her ward woke up. She learned that his name was Tovin Puddlejumper and he was gracious and appreciative, and very charming. He told his stories of his downtrodden life, his troubles and the crimes he committed. He told them boldly, without hesitation and truthfully. This scared William and Tilda, but Lilly fell in love. She saw something they did not. She saw his shame. He was not proud of his crimes. As he healed and she tended to him their love grew stronger. When the time came that Tovin was strong enough to leave, William pressured him to leave. Lilly would do what she could to keep him there as long as possible, even threatening to go with Tovin, but eventually he had to go. With disappointment William and Tilda watched their baby girl leave with a criminal.
Tovin and Lilly soon married. A small ceremony in a small temple. There, as part of his vows to Lilly, Tovin swore to never steal, murder or commit anymore crimes. Lilly swore to always love and care for him body and soul. Ilmater still guides and blesses their path leading them to help the needy and suffering. To bring joy and love where there is sadness and hate.
