Can Crusader (Paladin Kit) SR Be Made Permanent

Currently, the Crusader kit gets the feature "Divine Shroud" at Crusader 18 (Paladin 19) 3 times/day that provides Spell Resistance of 12+Crusader level (or 11+Paladin level). I propose that this feature be changed to a permanent effect rather than an activated effect a 1 less SR (to match Monk Diamond Soul), and for it to qualify a character for Improved Spell Resistance in the same way that a Monk's Diamond Soul does. In other words, make Divine Shroud act identical to Diamond Soul, except it counts Paladin levels rather than Monk levels.

Balance-wise, I don't see that this would be excessively strong due to still largely requiring the character to build full 30 levels of Paladin (which inherently sacrifices access to tools like Expose Weakness and Uncanny Dodge) to get reasonable value from the class, with no spell-casting other than the SLA Holy Sword, and is provided at a significantly later level than the comparable monk ability, as the Monk class receives permanent SR at level 13. Deep Gnomes and Drow receive Spell Resistance of 11+character level as a racial feature, and if made permanent, the Paladin SR should be the slightly value that Monks get.

From chats in the discord, the SR system the module uses is customized and should be easily configured to allow this change.

This change would provide for an archetype that I feel is somewhat lacking in the current module of the witch-hunting knight. The Crusader kit almost fits this, but falls a bit short with regards to the toolkit to perform in that role at epic levels.

Honestly full Paladin builds and their kits are so underpowered compared to 4 level Paladin dips any bumps to them shouldn’t cause balance problems.

I honestly doubt it'll happen, kits are untouched these days and it is a very old way of doing things! But you never know!
