Church of Ilmater RP

Post by Ashenie »

Words spread that the Shrine of the Suffering received large donations of herbs, as well as imports from other parts of Faerûn. The rumor specifies that House Darius helped secure the shipments, and that Ilmatari continue to research remedies and herbs to treat afflictions and diseases. The endeavors seem to invite more work in the Ilmatari gardens and in the herbarium, where the Sisters are seen tending to their daily tasks, growing plants and brewing remedies.

It is also said that rites of remembrance will soon be held for a paladin of the Just God, Dame Bettany the Patient. For the tendays preceding the commemoration, prayers of devotion praising patience, wisdom, discipline and determination are whispered and sung, in litanies or during services, as the sunlight pierces through the windows of the chapel. Sister Ashenie is said to undertake this endeavor with great care, speaking of the charges and duties left behind, and the need to honor the purpose of those who now serve in the House of the Triad.

Holy words whispered in the dark, prayer of hope and mercy when moondark's heart shines bright. In the Shrine of the Suffering, reclusive prayers seal another Suffering. The cause, unknown, undisclosed, seems to answer darkness with compassion. Quiet in her endeavors, the Revered Sister Ashenie Darakh seems to care. A new stone is painted, added to the weight of a heavy basket. The words of Saint Merielle echo in tender litanies :“One cannot appreciate the Light without first walking in Darkness.”
In her endeavors, the Sister drew symbols upon her palms and hands, with consecrated ashes. Celestial runes adorn a simple allegory of the old symbol of Ilmater : The blood-stained rack. No matter the suffering, Mercy always cares, is it said.

Modestly dressed, yet determined. Ambassador Lilly Kai was seen delivering a confidential letter from House Divine to the threshold of Ilmater today. In a city where everyone seeks power and influence, this quiet visit suggests that her House currently has different priorities.

Delivered to Sister Karen by the Heartwarder, are five plates of baked fish, with lemon and tyme, offered with a kind smile. "May these help those too sick to find a good and hearty meal at the Charity Kitchen." She bows her head and gives a warm smile before leaving the shrine once again.

A few evenings each tenday Syl'kas was helping out at the charity Kitchen, serving the already prepared food, and tending the small bar.

He'd joke and chat with those attending, keeping a generally pleasant demeanor throughout each shift.

Syl'kas - Just a bum, right?

Early in the morning, closer to midnight than sunrise, a familiar blonde Guardian would wander into the Sanctuary as a driving storm rages outside.

While familiar (despite having been soaked to the bone from the storm - and his boots covered ankle-deep in mud) in general appearance, there is something decidedly unfamiliar about him to those who may know him, or at least unfamiliar in recent days - despite his waterlogged state, he wears a warm, radiant smile and there is a lightness of being about him, as though he carried no burdens in the world.
