A scream in the darkness
During the 23 Kythorn of 1360, travellers, who happened to travel by the North Trade Way to or from Beregost, could sense somethine foul in the air once they passed the bridge. The terrible scent would become only more awful by approaching the entrance of abandoned mine in the hill. Brave ones who dared to come near could spot the corpses of goblins, slain by arrows, as well as strange puddle of rotten flesh

While the early hours of the day were quiet and peaceful, latter ones were discturbed by sudden screams, coming from the depths of mine. Apparently, it wasn't someone of goblins.

FIND. FIND. FIND. COLLECT.
It was screaming, wounded and bleeding, trying to find those who dwelled in the depths of mines and fighting it's younger, less powerful versions.

After that the moon rose up

Abandoned mine was quiet by the evening. Whatver creatures were inside, they were slained. Left nothing after themselves but a puddles of blood.

Three figures got out of it when the sun was ling set. One of it went further by the road towards Beregost, hoping to cleanse himself from the all digust that half-elf got on him during fierce fights. Second of them was barely seen among the woods. And third of them, guarded by loyal wolf, could be seen burying the boides - or what remained from it - of those, who were dragged underground in order to be turned into disgusting ever-hungry abominations

A Sending sent. An arrival too late. As Lord Lyonaler enters the town limits of Beregost his steps slow. The signs of death and broken fences greet him as he enters the town proper. Fallen Militia and Knights of the Temple of Lathander lay about the field of vision. The Knight takes to patrolling to each gate entrance to the town. Upon each he speaks the words of a prayer, his hand grasping at a red colored Knight Lanceboard piece that hangs around his neck. As the words complete his eyes glow an almost blinding white light. This light moves down his body slowly, entering his shoulder, arm, and then down into his palm. The glowing palm is laid upon the ground at each gate. From it the light transfers into the soil as the very ground become consecrated. An effort to slow undead that might still linger or attack once more.

The Knight is seen going about collecting any of the fallen not yet tended to, attempting to restore the body and souls of those who would return, and offering healing to injured soldiers and citizens. That night, Aaron Lyonaler is seen taking a beat walking the fences and keeping eye out on any further disturbances.

Early in the morning, a young redhead staggers down the road from the north, dragging herself into the Lathanderite temple. Dirty, short of breath, and pressing a hand against her heart, she doesn't seem visibly injured, though she certainly isn't in peak health either.

Some locals might recognize her as Virin, a recent visitor from Baldur's Gate who tried to keep the recent "town hall" meeting focused on the matter of the recent undead attack, and had went up the road to scout the area the preceding evening. It's not clear yet what happened to her, and she doesn't seem to be in a talkative mood just yet... but it stands to reason that there is a story to be told here.

Gossip coming from some of the prettier local ladies suggests that three halfling brothers set up a small homestead in the forest between Beregost and Nashkel. These lovely, well sated ladies say these hin brothers are quite the attentive hosts. To date, the exact whereabouts of this halfling hideaway has been successfully concealed from the angry ruminations of the husbands of these villages.

Rumor has it that a monk named Kearen Aldunai frequently visits Beregost and regularly spends time in the temple of Lathander for prayers and meditation. He arrived the first time a few weeks ago. Since then he has been seen helping a farmer pick his exactly six apples as the first thing he does every time he enters the town. Lately the monk started to talk with various people about the church of Lathander. He had several conversation with Kelddath who seems to lead the temple about the people in Beregost and if he has noticed anything strange about any people he mentions his faith to.
Some people may think the monk is not just looking for friendly conversations but actually performing some kind of investigation.

In Beregost, the doors of the Song of the Morning temple would open upon a conspicuous stranger clad in dark carmine hues, his serious-seeming visage marking him as one touched by planar forces.

With skin possessing the copper-orange cast of heated metal, pale hair swept back from his brow to reveal tips stirring and glowing as though touched by a flame no draught could extinguish, the man's ember-bright eyes pass slowly over the vaulted temple interior before settling upon the altar.

The quiet conversations of the temple's attendants would not cease as he entered, though soften in his wake.

To the clergy present better versed in the faiths of the Dragon Coast and deeper mysteries of their own, the ancient sunburst symbols of Amaunator would be clearly displayed upon the stranger's outfit - a badge fastened at the breast of his coat and the buckle of the stout belt about his narrow waist. Fewer still might know these as the distinctive insignias worn by the Brotherhood of the Glorious Sun - claimed by some to be a more militant religious order attached to distant Elversult’s Temple of the Morn.

The strange man would appear aware of the attention, neither seeking or shrinking from it.

Seen to approach the altar without haste, the figure would lower himself to one knee at a respectful distance from it, touch two fingers to the solar device at his breast and bow his head whilst murmuring the words of a prayer with his eyes closed.

"Lord of the Eternal Sun, whose gaze reveals all falsehood…"

For a time, the travelers observance would seem little different from that of any traveller seeking Lathander’s favour. Only when heard to speak beneath his breath would the distinction become apparent to those near enough to hear.

"May all houses of the Yellow God shelter those who seek truth and renewal of purpose. Let every dawn recall the first law of the sun - that darkness may conceal, but it cannot endure. Grant purpose to my hand, clarity to my judgement, and constancy to my course."

The man's cinder-like eyes would lift toward the rosy light streaming through the temple’s eastern windows.

“And may the young dawn be honoured for every soul he turns toward the greater light."

The priests to observe the display would sense no mockery in the overheard stanzas, nor any deliberate discourtesy. Though the stranger plainly honoured Lathander - he did so as one might honour a herald, an inheritor, or perhaps a younger expression of something older.

Where Beregost's temple celebrates beginnings, hope and renewal, the given prayer would speak of revelation, order and burning judgement.

The coppery red hand would remain atop the symbol at his breast and his fiery gaze focused upon the altar, whilst rising to his feet with his expression softened by some private thought. Only then would he glance towards the elder priest, Keldath Ormlyr whose uncertain gaze and attention might linger upon him longer than the others.
