Afendaria stood high above the Chionthar on top of a cliff, leaning against a tree, her only source of shade against the sun’s harsh rays. She watched gulls hover beneath her, riding up on a cool gust of wind that had made its way up the cliff side. Closing her eyes, she breathed in deep, tasting the salt on the breeze. It was a far better scent than that of the dead gnolls, goblins, and orcs the Kelemvorites and their red tiefling ally had slain and piled within the barracks over a tenday ago.
The battle at River's End had been hard fought, but unlike the last few villages where she had gone with others to bury the dead, those who wished to pervert and twist Death's purpose had been pushed back. The villagers had been granted another chance to die when the end was proper, and not before their appointed time. There had been no creatures feasting on carrion upon arrival, no poisoned land, and no charred ashes of the dead left unceremoniously out in the open. Death had come to River's End, as it always does in war. Yet it had been held at bay, claiming instead those who sought to wield Death to spread fear and misery. Those few humans who had died in the defense of River’s End had, to Afendaria’s knowledge, been found, claimed, and delivered to those who would grant them honour and final rites. Much of the town’s infrastructure might have been greatly damaged, but homes could be repaired. Life was not as easily restored if lost prematurely.
Afendaria opened her eyes and stared back down into the Chionthar’s waters below, eyeing a large barge heading towards Baldur’s Gate. If that battle had gone differently, she might not have been where she was now, watching the ships come and go. Instead, she might have been the one lying in or on the ground, her corpse at the mercy of those that would disgrace the dead. Had she survived and River’s End still fell, she might instead have found herself once more administering final rites in another village cut down before its proper time.
But no, she and the other Kelemvorites were alive. The majority of River's End and its defenders had also survived. Cyric's minions and their plans had been thwarted, and instead of burying the town she could just stay where she was, resting for a short while beneath that tree, allowing the cool breeze to quietly wash over her before returning to serve Kelemvor, the dying, and the dead.

In the last couple of Tenday, the same familiar white haired Kelemvorite could be seen visiting each of the separate buildings of the Mortuary Guild. Her slender frame carried large bags of seeds and dirt to the gardeners, and a wooden box of drinks to the two gravediggers. It's possible their arguing stopped after the bottles were delivered. The hooded woman explained something about seeing family in Cormyr. It wasn't clear on the specifics.
She spent some time in the Graveyard, quietly praying among the graves. At the end of her prayers she unpacked her cleaning kit, and began tending to the condition of the resting places. Her long white hair draped to the ground while she cleaned and scrubbed the headstones with a hard bristle brush. Throughout the morning to afternoon, she went through this ritual until she vanished for some time.
Elisia could be seen holding a large bag between her arms. There was a dog by her side. The two of them waited patiently for a caravan headed off and making a stop in Cormyr. By the time It arrived it was almost sunset. She looked down to her dog, an old tired shepherd with muddy paws. The Kelemvorite stepped into the cabin, and the dog hopped up in behind her. It was a longer trip to the
Land of the Purple Dragon. She rested her head beside the window watching the sunset for the evening. Each flutter of her long black lashes slowed with each tired blink, until she fell asleep there in the carriage.

Within Baldur’s cliffside cemetery there had been no sign of Afendaria for the month of Eleasis, her whereabouts unknown save to the few of her faith she associated with in Baldur’s Gate. Though she may have been seen at rare times swiftly marching through the city on some business, she had seemed to have just up and left the graveyard all together, leaving many of her own duties in the hands of the Mortarch known as Nathalie.
Then, just as she had left, she had suddenly returned with Eleint, when the weather started getting cooler and summer was staring to wane. Daily patrols around the cemetery resumed where she could be seen or heard smashing aside the undead that still wandered about certain areas of the graveyard, and yet, her presence there had become something less than before. She did not linger nor stay in areas for long, opting instead to hunt down undeath, then just move on.

Afendaria hadn't been seen as often in the cemetery during the month of Eleint, save during some quick patrols. She had been performing her tasks and duties elsewhere, or in private. And then, a few days after Highharvesttide, she was suddenly back in force, armed with a shovel and a hoe. But it was not at the graves that she found herself working at upon her return.
In the back of the cemetery she could be found, shovel and hoe blade flying, cutting, slicing, and uprooting hideous amounts of Nettle that she had discovered growing in the cemetery. How they had got there so late in the season and how the wicked weeds had grown so quickly was an absolute mystery, but she wasn't letting the aggressive plants take hold. For a day or two she hacked and cleaved through the nettle, dislodged the plants from the earth, and soon after this task was complete, her next few patrols involved her not only smacking down the lesser undead, but also scouring the cemetery for more signs of this new nettlesome invader.

Heeding a request sent by letter earlier that month from the Church of Helm in Nashkel, Afendaria of Kelemvor’s Death Clergy set her attention southwards deep into Amn where she had been asked to assist in working against rumoured Cyricst activity and to offer rites to any dead found during a mission. The militant priestess travelled southbound, deep into the heart of Amn towards the town of Imnescar.
Meeting with the Everwatch Knights in Nashkel first, she and four other Helmites travelled southwards, eventually coming to the town of Imnescar where they made their presence known and soon met with the local Inquisition. Having been briefed on the town's troubles involving the Cyricists (often greatly exaggerated by some of the locals) she and the servants of the Vigilant One set out to face whatever foe awaited them.
Afendaria with the Helmites did not stay in that southern, large town for very long; with whatever problem the town had being investigated and dealt with, and after meeting with another local Kelemvorite to make sure any bodies uncovered in her mission were given proper, local burial rites, Afendaria would not linger about. Before departing with the four Helmites she did manage to buy a bag of dates and some avocados.
Upon returning to Nashkel first, she bid farewell to the Helmites before she made her way back up north towards Baldur’s Gate. She exchanged few words with those she came across as she headed back home, her produce purchases from Imnescar in hand. Save for quiet cursing towards her hated Black Sun worshipping foes and some nearly incoherent muttering about how Helmites haven’t figured out how to climb or swim, she was intent on finding rest and refuge away from others for the remainder of that day in order to mull over more troubling news and events she had been involved with.
