*For those that pass by the Blushing Mermaid tavern in the Heapside, they would had heard the sounds of some sort of celebration coming from the tavern. For any that had entered the Blushing Mermaid would quicky notice all the patrons had drinks, any shady individuals conducted their business with grins and good spirits. It seemed the tavern was more loud than most nights. This early in the night however the reason was unknown, word would only speak of how a woman had ordered such a celebration, and ensuring everyone was bought a drink. Tho strange, the drinks wasn't paid by her own coin purse. And surprisingly any person whom was renting a room that night would be told by Guido the bartender that their stay for the night had already been paid for, whispering in a low tone that it was compliments by The Guild.*
On 3 Marpenoth, a grand Highharvestide Festival was held in the farmlands, east of Baldur's Gate. The guests in attendance were a good mix of local farmers and adventurers. Harvestmistress Aelys Shadeborough from the Chauntean temple in Greenest came to the festival and led the guests in ritual and prayer. A feast was eaten, ale and wine was drunk, and much merriment was had by all. The guests participated in competitions - including a sack race, an apple bobbing competitions, and the local pig farmers showed up with a competition for fattest pig. Ol' Geoffrey's boar named 'Pinky' came out on top and was awarded a special prize.
The organizing team also raised funds for the natural restoration project in Ulgoth's Beard during the event.
Day after the event of Highharvesttide - Morning of 4th Marpenoth - Framlands east of Baldurs Gate wrote:
In the morning after the Highharvesttide Ada and Naer’eanque offered an event for the children, for making flower wreaths.
All was prepared: A table of a height suitable for the most kids. There also small, but strong crates around, so that smaller children also could reach the tabletop. On the table are many raw wreaths made of straw be placed. There are also various flowers of autumn and different kind of tendrils, with colourful leaves. All floral components are already brought in a length, that children’s hands can tinker with them, without causing accident or needing a tool. Small feathers and short ribbons of cloth are also provided.
With patience and a heartly smile on their lips, both women showed them how the children could make their own unique flower crowns. Questions of the children’s, about the used floral components or the birds the feathers had been taken were gladly answered. If the children would be too shy, a few explanations were given anyway during the play. Maybe the one or other little song of the local folklore were sung together during the tinkering.
For maintaining the energy of the tinkerer, the one or other chocolate cake from the day before were offered. After the “work” was done and the morning changed into the eve, the woman made sure that every child would find their way home safely.
