Pirate: "Knive-ear eh?"

Warrior: "Yeah, a prissy one at that."

Pirate: "Ye gut er?"

Warrior: *snort* "Nah..."

Pirate: "Peh."

Dwarf: *grins*

[...]

Raider: *He shrugs.* "It wasn't one of the tree-huggers. I found the whole thing amusing. She said she was Baldurian."

Pirate: "This prissy elf from Baulder's, wot she want? An did ye get a name?"

Raider: "Yes! She had a very long and fruity name, I remember as much!"

Warrior: "Yeah, very fancy one."

[...]

Dwarf: "That's what she said! Elves are lyin' all day."

Raider: "Aha! Even more amusing then. What in the Hades was she doing all the way up here, hm?"

Warrior: *nods at the dwarf* "True dat."

Pirate: "Out of place, tha's fer sure. Should of kidnapped her fer ransom."
A group of raiders was chatting about the sighting of an unusual kind of elf in the Northern regions at the marketplace of Soubar, whilst unloading merchandise. Having concluded their business, they gathered to go on another expedition. The dwarf in the party allegedly knew of a safe passage into the Underdark, which the other three were curious to explore.
The group would return to Soubar much later through the use of magic, with the exception of the sailor, who was seemingly left behind during the trip. After a brief rest, two of them would be joined by a passing warlock woman and would go on to march southward for more plundering.

Raider: "I'm sure he'll enjoy it, given that you two go far back! And, I'm sure you'll enjoy it too..."

Knight: "Yes, the main subject ...what can you tell me about it?"

[...]

Raider: "Sure. That's always an option. So long as someone knows how to crack heads and enjoys the mayhem, they should be fine. *He snorts.* It's not like we're going to expect oaths and decorum. *He eyerolls and smirks.* We're not Banites!"

Knight: "Some Banites were around in the past. A part of them must be dead too now...."

Raider: *He chuckles, eyes squinted, speaking in a very light tone.* "Looks like there aren't any left now. It is their fate to wither away alongside their dead god."

Knight: "Not easy to change of religion, indeed. But how can one continue to follow a dead power?"
During one unassuming evening, the long-haired tiefling ,frequently seen in the past month resting at Soubar in-between raids, spent a few hours chatting with a warrior in red armor, whose sight would also not be unfamiliar to some of the locals. The two covered a varied array of subjects, including news, combat tactics, local politics, faiths, and the proclivities of some of the Soubarites. Nearing the end of the conversation, the knight was witnessed making use of some manner of magic to take on the shape of various creatures, much to the delight of the tiefling.
Afterwards, the two parted ways, though any who overheard their chat would assume that another, larger gathering of their ilk has been planned in the town at some point in the not too distant future...

Lord Castellan: "...Though if you drain what is here you'll have to find another source yourself."

Warrior: "Fair 'nuff!"

Lord Castellan: "I am not that kind to give you free hospitality as well."

Raider: "Yes, yes, that wouldn't be a problem! We can kill our own meals." *He chuckles, seemingly slightly distracted.* "Raids, hm?"
In an unexpected turn of events, Soubar was briefly graced by a surprise visit from the dreaded Lord Castellan of Darkhold, who appeared to have some manner of business in the keep of the Crimson Watch. As it later would become clearer, his visit wasn't unforeseen by all of the locals, as a Tiefling and an Earth Genasi often seen in the tent town were seemingly expecting his arrival, and would eagerly enter the fortress after him.

The group was witnessed coming in and out a few times, in what might have appeared as some kind of inspection. As the Lord of Darkhold was preparing to depart, a local witch, already acquainted with the others, joined the group as well, and a brief and cordial exchange of items took place outside. Having concluded his business for the moment, the Lord Castellan left, while the other three moved into the keep once more.

It is rumored that much discussion took place inside, and although the group left once again for the wilderness that night, the three would return yet again later. A pair of bugbear slaves was seen no long after carrying crates into the keep.

Caravaner: "Of course the bastard..made sure he looked like a regular man at first."

Raider: *He smiles and narrows his eyes.* "Hm, yes, ogres can be crafty sometimes!"

Caravaner: "Some outcast all the way from the Shou Empire."

Warrior: "Damn, that's a long way from here..."

Caravaner: "Oh yes.. past even the steppes, those are bad enough with the Tuigan clans. Excellent archers, temperamental as..f...well difficult to deal with..."

Raider: "Yes, a bit slippery."
A certain eastern tiefling was spotted having a very long conversation with a hooded woman in black, near the market of Soubar. Though their tones were friendly on the surface, an underlining tension could be felt throughout. Whatever issue there might have been between them, it seems it was resolved, at least for the time being, without violence.

Later on in the evening, the tiefling would be witnessed returning to the town from south with two genasi; one being the Earthsoul frequently seen with him, and the other a first-time visitor from the far south. The two locals would spend some time chatting with the visitor and showing her around the tent town. Then, the three retired, the woman heading for the tavern, and the two men for the Crimson Watch Keep.
