give him a keen scythe and he'll do x4 on a crit
He gets 5 smites per day, and with a scythe has a ~10% chance of landing a critical hit. That assumes he doesn't miss any of his smite attempts either.
yes 5 paladin smites + extra smiting feat - for a total of 7 smites a day
plus he gets mite infidel for a DC which with lawful good paladin works the same as smite evil
so you get 3 smite infidel a day which do less damage but with the same AB bonus
and smite evil CL works like this, so paladin levels stack with DC levels so you get full 30 lvls to damage with smite evil and with 30 CHa paladin you also get +10 AB so you really rarely miss
with 10 great smiting feats you get 330 dmg when you smite + any additional damage fromw weapon, str bonus, IPA, spells, etc.
with a high crit range weapon like scythe you do over 1000 on a crit
and even if you meet a crit immune character you always do that 300 a hit...
you can always take a scimitar for more often but less damage crits...

As you stated before...that is ALL Great Smiting...you blow pretty much ALL your Epic Feats for that...and that is ONLY on Evil (N)PCs. It's funny when you hit for like 700 on a Smite Evil Crit...

By trying that build I noticed few weak points of the build. Aside from it being strange mix IC.

Does the Epic Precision feat for rogues still allow for half-damage on a sneak attack against them?

That's still not subject to any form of energy immunity, can be done 5-10 times per day, does enough damage to drop nearly any build in 1 round, and is more damaging than any damaging wizard or or cleric spell outside of the Instant Death spells, which are subject to (sometimes multiple) saving throws and outright blocked by Death Ward.
Oh, and my suggestion on modifying Great Smite, so that I am not just pointing out how stupidly broken it is, is to have each feat taken add 10 damage to your smite, instead of full CL(+30), as is currently done. In that case, you're still smiting for up to 130 damage (520 on a Scythe Crit) on the outside, but it's not an automatic "I Win" button against any neutral or evil character.

Holy Crap, that works on neutrals
What ever happened to all those Radiant Heart toons then? They just get bored of killing everything so easily?

Just as a heads up, 100 damage criticals don't require a WM/FB. A Sorcerer/Dragon warrior/Eldricht knight with 22 strength can achieve 116 damage on a critical hit as well using UMD and spells. (though you have to be very lucky. On average, such a gimped character can do 95.5 damage.)
Made this post to prove you don't need a "Powerbuild" to achieve "ungodly" crits. Even an intentionally gimped, RP build can achieve such with resources.

Personally, I think that the FB community has gotten a little out-of-hand. I would love to see FB changed so that the uber-power-attack feat worked only while Frenzied.
As for smiters... well, you do have to play a paladin, so at least serious smiters will not be the kind of person to PvP at the drop of a hat for no apparent reason. And as for PvE, at least the number of smites per day is limited, unlike the number of crits per day for FB crit cheesebuilds.
Edit: And good, here I was worried that a page of posts might go by without Hoihe talking about his own characters.

Personally I have always felt that FB should be as it is in PnP, a Barbarian Prestige Class...

Even with only GS 8, that's still 240 BONUS UNRESISTABLE DAMAGE on top of weapon damage. Granted, the STR mod is going to be somewhat gimped by the build, but enhancement bonus and magical buff damage is still applied just fine.
And you have other issues if you miss 7 smites with a high BAB class like the paladin, concealment or not.
Also, claming that GS is the only trump card a Paladin has is laughable. Charisma bonus to saves. Reasonable buffs, which include further increases to Saving Throws, AB, Damage, DR. Immunity to Fear. Turning undead which can be converted to other CHA based bonuses. There's a reason that Paladins used to be one of the most popular classes on the server before the DMs actually started holding them to their alignment(no offense intended toward current DMs, you're actually doing a good job!).

Neutrals are affected by Smite Infidel. Won't be nearly as high in damage as a smite evil.

Ok let me just get my view in as someone who plays a smiter. First of all,the build is not overpowered,Granted they have high damage (limited to 7 smite evils and 3 smite infidels), However alot has to be Sacrificed in order to get the epic feat, First off you need a minimum of 25 CHA,meaning that you pretty much have to make a Aasimar (which take longer to level) and start with 20 CHA, William for Example started with 16 STR, 20 CHA , 8 DEX, 8 CON, 10 INT. Just by those stats you can see that his HP will be low, As will his AC (at most 40-45 with the best equipment avalible). And with BGs anti powerbuilding measures ( have to take min 3 levels in every class you take before level 21) it is impossible to get that last Great Smite feat
effectivly taking off quite alot of damage. You'll find that Great Smiters do indeed have the advantage in one on one combat but in prolonged combat they are normally the first to go down. Yes Smite infidel gives them decent damage against neutral players/creatures yet only three times per day and the damage is pretty much the same as a Frenzied Berserks Critical hit.
Also you have to sacrifice every epic Level feat slot in order to gain full advantage. Meaning you only have 8 Non epic feats.
So please before complaining about it "being too powerful" because you made the mistake of engageing a smiter in one v one combat, Just stop and think about it and should you choose to engage them, have a plan of action (use Bigsbys, have a group) to take away their advantage. Do not straight away reach for the nerf alarm.
Thank you
