she rises early, having finally had a somewhat quiet night. She prays then writes.
I really should trust him more. It seems that Ilmater was there for him after all. I should not be so proud..I shold remember I am not the only one who follows my god. I would pray she actually keeps him from being a total fool but the trust of the matter is, he never strikes first and he never hurts women . He will be well if she is not just another notch on a bed post.In anycase, one of my sisters was there to help him.I will not be over concerned with him. it is evident my god still cares for him too.

I heard disturbing news about kaltyra and lillith and Taron. I would be more concerned but I also hear he was not totally alone. Beatrix says its taken cared of. I hope it ended generally well.

I had a scare with sirtza. I thought she was going to jump of the inn roof. She was just trying to make a point everyone tries to make. That you cannot help everyone and that you cannot help those who do not want it.

She had heard I left the order. She thought I was just giving up, but in my mind, if I am going to have people know I am a favored of my god dare to tell me I am not wise enough to know who to reach for and whom not to reach for , and say I do not hear my god, then they are also saying my god is a fool too. I cannot work with such people. Not in my mission.

She finally did get me to agree that if she had jumped, and if I had healed her,and she walked up and jumped again I would have to let her stay dead.I think in the course of the lesson though she also learned about me. I do not give up easy if I believed the cause is worth it. and never before I know it is truely to late. Someone does not want to be helped? If they cry near me they better be willing to die twice.

she prays...
Ilmater god of the broken and down trodden, lifter of those with no strength to stand, thank you for answering my prayer for the one I hurt worse.Strengthen me , and grant my desire to do as I plan, which is to obey you.. embrace those who are in pain, but not the evil, reaching into the flames to rescue those that perish and cry out, though it burn me also. And let those who would hinder this simple request , if my cause be right, be hindered instead.

I have been talking with some of the order of the silver rose. They can be really strict, but their code has some interesting points. As i have decided NOT to again be bound by an organization that may hinder my duty, I will not join them that way. But I most definitely wish to help them . They do not like poisons of the body as I do not. They also are compassionate, caring more for the one healed than for what they are. I do not see the same distrust in their action , yet.

I was asked if I took any of the sacred vows.A thought. a vow is a big step, and not to be taken lightly. While it may be a step of devotion,it also seems unnecessarily binding. I will not take any lightly, if at all. because once I do, I will be bound by it. That said I ahve taken a couple of vows already.

I have forsworn the use of heavy armors.. I will trust Ilmater to keep me safe. I also have forsworn the use of weapons. By using just my fists i will show that I have not forgotten, I am a healer, and my hands are for healing, even if they must, rarely, be used to do harm for the greater good.

I am considering trying to begin a order simular to the unhindered path. I will need to think on this also. Until then, I will try to stay faithful. And prepare for war . It seems things are brewing. There will be healers needed.

Althea returns to the shrine tonight, not to the rooms she rents as a clinic. Her appearance is more somber and she sits to write.
I have gone and done it again. I just could not resist . In spite of my goals to stay independent, I find that the code of the order of the silver rose really does reflect how i already am. It is nice to work beside those that are like minded with me. So I took a squires vow , and joined their order.

what was really good to me was the promise that if I could not live by the code I could part being a friend and ally still. What drew me to them was more complicated than a word or two.

They try to live by a higher standard. sir Haeman and lady Angelina are very kind and just and honorable. I do not feel like I have to make a compromise , and I think this may work out very well.

she pause sand thinks, then adds some more.
Over the last couple days some things have been brought up, stirring my thoughts.I must write them down , even if I cannot adequately speak them to others.first:
I find it curious people will not help a living person and heal them or try to talk to them and address their pain, yet do not hesitate to cast a spell of raising the dead on them should their body be brought to them. This causes a question. If we can show mercy to their corpse, why cannot we show it to them while they live? Is it easier to call one back from the dead? or to mend a broken bone. or heart?

second:
Related in a sense to the first , what is bearing a burden of another? It is not just knowing their pain, it is reaching out to them and sharing with them. it is being there for them as they heal.

A man with a fever who is dying does not just get one dose of medicine, or one kind word, or one kind act. Those who bear that mans burden are there until he is better or perishs. The one tending them may lose sleep, they may lose time alone, they may worry and fret, they may forget to eat.. because the one who is sick MUST be tended. THAT.. is bearing another persons burden.

It is no different with someone whose heart is broken by cruel pain. You do not listen , say ' I am sorry.' and move on. That is not bearing with them. No.. istening, as many times as they need, staying close to them, CARING for them, for how they feel. Crying with them , when they cry, sitting with them, when they are alone. THAT is bearing a burden of another. anything short of that, is false .
Ilmater is this: he seeks to offer words of comfort and calming to those in pain, oppressed, or in great need; he does so by seeking to endure any pain if it will lessen the pain of another.
That is the example of we who follow him.We who follow him are , among other things, exhorted to comfort the dying, the griefstricken, and the heartsick, and give shelter and kind counsel to the lonely, the lost, and the ruined. If that is not reaching into the flames to rescue those that perish regardless of personal risk or pain, what Is? If that is not bearing another burden what is?

so if one tells me hearing anothers pain is not helping them, they miss what I mean. and they do not understand what it i to bear anothers burden.

This is why I could not work with the radiant heart.. they are there to fight evil primarily, not bear others burdens , as they proved to me. It is why I accepted the offer to join the order of the silver rose..because they do care, and i will never be told not to bear anothers burden, nor will i have to bear it alone I believe.

without warning she is overcome with a heart pouring to her god falling to her knees.
Ilmater, who bears the pain of the broken, give me strength and wisdom to bear the pain of others, to comfort them, to show them that, even if no one seems to.. someone Does care. help me show them you.And bless my new comrades, and give me strength to not let them regret allowing me to join in their labors.
she spends much of the night , in the presence of her god this night, as he shines on her, and comforts her, and lifts her burdens a while, that she may know the joy of doing as he would have her do, purely for a bit.he has forgiven her for not trusting him.

She returns to the rooms she keeps rented for herself Tired but looking content. She checks her money considering, then she get out her paper to write.

It was not a mistake! the compassion they show is what I would expect of holy people.. I am glad to have traveled with them today, although i am a bit sore from all the running we did . Sir Haeman has a fierce hatred for undead.miss Emily says any sane person would, but his reasoning is more than fiery uncaring fervency.

I care for the families too. Also the children. What if a child sa one of these things and it was their mother or father?

lady Angelina , normally one of the sweetest ladies I know, also is very affected by the evil of undead. It must be painful for her, to feel the evil. When she does, her emotions stir to righteous anger. But it is directed at evil, like the power stirring undead, and those who are truly so, like the necromancer who would take a child's parent and then go after the child.
We went into the tomb in the fields too. Mummies and wraiths and skeletons and a huge tub of blood, and bodies needing sanctified. I was not able to say much, and was close to being overwhelm except Emilies and zans excitement over treasure.

' anyone want this belt? How about you miss althea you need it..whats wrong?

Her excitement over a belt, the life she exuded, made it so I could speak through the tears and constriction of throat. She was such a blessing to me. You have to know her to understand her being over excited about a belt in the middle of a evil tomb next to a huge tub of blood. she was rich once, and clothes are something she misses.

we almost did not make it out though. I can say this, Zan becoming a tree changed the course of that fight. we all would be zombies now if not for her. I think the undead stepped up the attack becasue Haeman defiled that alter by writing' o.s.r was here.' We wanted them to know we were not going to let them continue unchallenged. I learned something from that fight too. What spells work, what supplies I will need. Healing an undead is a powerful skill, and holy water is wonderful.

Finally I returned to the gate . I went to help at the shrine. Somehow being around living broken people cleansed the stain of sorrow that tomb left on me.Also, a bucket of hot blessed water made my hands and arms and face feel alot less dirty.

When I returned here, I discovered , outside the inn, that the orc who had so loudly and arrogantly proclaimed talos as his god, in front of patrolling fist even ,had finally met his end. The red wizard ,who I met on the roof of the inn one recent day, told me not to shed a tear over the orc, and for once I was inclined to agree. Not becasue the orc is a beast, because orcs , though scary as they can be running at you trying to eat you, are also intelligent beasts. But...rather because of the fact that he chose to serve a evil god known for oppression and destruction.

Some evil IS intentional.. some people DO choose to commit evil, and must be stopped. Not cruelly, but with definitiveness. Evil is not something that can be allowed to flourish.

I think maybe my friends at the orh thought I do not understand me. I am not stupid. I know evil is bad.Evil is the flame that burns.Sometimes, people are that flame. Usually though, they are the victims of that flame.

Her prayers this night are quiet, though the names of her comrades are audible. then she gets a good sleep.

In her room she counts her coin, then organizes her holy water. She has been happy recently. she prays , then writes.

One of the hardest issues for me is the concept of cold justice. It seems so devoid of compassion. Justice is the law and adhering to it, punishing the guilty regardless of the reason. If you have no compassion, all you get is tyranny.

But also, if you have no justice, you get weakness. I believe in defending the innocent , but if you have no justice, how can you defend them? How do you get a man to have compassion without destroying his stand of justice? part of the question may b eanswered in the code the knights f the silver rose hold to, under the definition of honor.

"helps those who need help, provided that help does not promote evil ends, punish those that harm or threaten innocents, always show mercy and refuse to inflict undue suffering even to the worst enemy, never attacks helpless foe."

As long as the punishment is seen in light of mercy I can live with that.it allows for me to show compassion , but also for justice to be done.
There is a war coming and it disturbs me. I know the order I am in believes we should not get so involved in politics, that we should focus on the local enemy, but I do not think people realize the evil war is going to bring. I wish they would really do everything possible before it begins to stop it. Throwing out an ambassador does not indicate someone is talking.

When we heard the fist had attacked a village in amn, investigation was done , they did not march to war. What if the same thing was done with the ship? yet our duke decides its war time ? I am for supporting leaders but not if they bring unthinking war famine and disease, and death over a potentially manipulated reason. I guess both orders are going to be neutral though, so I need to start stocking for the war.

I made thedran mad, though, and will try to apologize today. Because I was so adamant on this issue, he charged off to kill captain kalma, and honestly I do not know how he thought that would stop the war. In the process , indirectly, allison got attacked by a hin, and now shirtza has made it her life mission to kill the hin. Thedrean is too unstable. I think i will not engage him next time. The result was definitely to increase evil and suffering not stop it.I hope an apology helps.

But really, I think our dukes are not getting enough sleep to make wise decisions. bringing in red wizards who in their home nation do not just enslave people but oppress them also, using them to fuel their magic, and now going to war over a small attack that may have been faked? They are not being very wise.

On good news, the new radiant heart compound may be able to encircle the orphanage. and they will be first defense against the undead. Now , you can see the fruit of peace,if war does not ruin things.

Now , tired , she stores her supplies, and goes to sleep.

Althea returns to her room at the inn.She counts the coin trying to figure out how many supplies it will buy, then hide the coin. Then she writes.
Bless sister Arabella for her help. I was able to buy some things that will help me heal more effectively. She also gave me a precious amulet... which will need to wait to use. I do hope I do not bring shame to Ilmaters name.

I need to not be distrusting those of the radiant heart so much. sometimes i am sure they are mad I left, or that they do not trust me, or that they hate my new friends and order. I am not sure why.I think its all this talk of war.

we were talking tonight and as I was expressing my frustration that men are so blind to what war will bring, I failed to heal someone . Sir Haeman mentioned I should let that be a lesson to me, and he is right. I have gotten so worked up over this that I have lost my focus on my cause and am making errors that taint the blessed name of ilmater AND the order of the silver rose. It is just..

I know that men are going to do what they do, and all i can do is tell them my concern and they have to choose. but actually letting them do it is hard.Especially when it is going to bring famine and death and disease. But I need to focus on helping maintaining normalcy, and helping to spread hope. and i need to get back to caringfor people .

I hope shirtza is alright. she was really affected by what happened, but she told me to leave her alone this time, and that is soo hard. But I will not interfere unless she asks.

She spends the entire night in prayer, now, struggling with her desire to force change,to be overbearing, and Ilmaters desire for her to not judge, but to just be there for others. It is not an easy night for her.

Althea travels with a group to the xvarts taking to heart the exhortation of sister Angelina, to help cleanse and make safe the lands for people. The people she is with is her friend , emille, and some swashbuckler of a man and a ranger woman. After some successful battles the ranger leaves and Althea acquaintance, Kassandra, joins. There is some more fighting, then the problem begins.
You know what these things do with that bear right? they sacrifice living people to that.'he says nodding.
Thats why we kill them.says Althea in reply.
This would be a good place to make someone disappearhe starts laughing. Althea, already nearly in tears thinking of living people being sacrificed to a bear, suddenly cannot see for tears. she runs into the laughing swashbuckler, knocking him into the water they are near. They rescue the man. Later things get worse.

As they hunt some more he says its time to go see bob. It turns out' bob ' is a long dead man who somehow was not eaten fully or buried. Althea in tears prays over the man , thinking to bury the bones, and for food so the xvarts are not hungry enough to eat people. Then the oaf of a swashbuckler does something that causes a rare reaction in her. He picks up the skull, places it to his ears and says'

I think i cna hear the ocean now!!

Althea is shocked , stunned silent .. almost, .She notes Kassandra trying not to laugh, and emille, her friend she thought, not saying a word. Althea speaks and manages to say...
did you just..is that...
there is an old saying, among more millitant ilmatari, and yes they do exist, speak as a warning. She is so distraught she cannot even speak them. " i would not hurt or harm you but you stand where my fist will soon be' is what goes though her mind.. and she runs just in time not to speak those words. She runs until she gets to the fire camp, just to hear someone one speaking ill of yet another group, this time elves. She flees then to her room and prays
Ilmater forgive me and give me strength i want to kill someone, and need help not to.Help me to forgive this man who has shown his total disregard for life, be it as a person who breaths or after, when bones. and if he be broken, and thus is this way, give me love, to heal his wounds..fill me and let your strength reach to him. For if you do not, I will today fail you.And if he be so evil, break my hands before i break his face! And deliver him fast to tyr!
She dares not leave until she has his reply.
edit- it just occurred to me I better explain this.. the reaction to the incident mentioned is altheas. Someone defiling bones like that would ic upset her. I , unfortunately, thought it was hilarious and so had to add it in here. I am not upset in any way. just her. :D

Days pass, and she prays and deals with old wounds ripped open. In her mind she sees the body , the tortured one that set her on the road to here. She relives the pain, resurrected by ill spoken jests. Then , she heals enough to resume her walk.
Maybe my reaction might seem off. It is my burden, not theirs. I am one willing to reach in to save any who cry.But my pain, my burden began when innocence was stolen , when a person was murdered, just to make a point.. to mock good people .

I find no humor in someone who will jest at human sacrifice, or make a jest with the skull of a human that was once a father, or son , lost and forgotten among savage beasts that eat people. It is not respectful. If they are there, someone who loves them does not know if they be alive or dead.

So I am not wrong. i will not walk with someone who will do such a thing. I will heal them if they need it , yes. I will love them, if they cry I will endeavor with all my might and that given by my god to save them...but if they must jest of evil things, they will walk without me, even if they be someone I have trusted my life with.

her trial of faith done, she rises. she has work to do.

after a pleasant talk with her friend Julindra, She finally returns to he room. shewrites.

I saw miss julindra today. i was very happy. she is sleeping well now she says. scars of the past leave so much pain. It was pleasant to just sit by her and talk like we did before. She is a wise person. And i have shown myself a fool to her, and she is still kind. I really like her. I can see why the living saint was so close to her.

I also had an interesting conversation with one of my faith today. I do not think he saw the error of his stand. I suppose it is not to big of an error though, as he seems more the type to peacefully bring joy to others if he can, and not the type who is militant. But it could be if others followed it.

His stand is, if I understood him correctly, not only should you heal anyone but if you heal someone and that someone goes and fights good, you should support the one fighting the good. I very much disagree. while i am fine healing any, as that is what we are exhorted by Ilmater to do, I am not for supporting those that are evil as they attack the good. In that case i would heal the good first. As it turns out;

Shortly after our discussion two men attacked the camp , one was a mage, the other was a cleric of some sort.
The battle began, and quickly moved from the camp. I managed to heal the bruiser, and barely got to thedran and louise. I was not able to help the fist captain who fell. The attackers were fast defeated. and the lesson came clearly then.

although I believe in healing all, in the middle of the fight the one I am going to back is the defenders. Not because I hate the attackers, but becasue the defenders are not the aggressors. The ones attacking need to be stopped.

I am sure the fist healers raised the bodies of the fallen for judgement. That's another issue to me. If they are dead, leave them dead. Its kind of cruel to raise them to hang them. was not justice done when they fell?

In anycase, it is not right to support evil when it attacks the good, and that's where my brother in faith is in error. But maybe he is seeing an error in bringing the dead back just to hang them also. better to just bury them. That's my thought anyway.

she prays that night, for her brother to see his error, for the war to not come, for wisdom and strength, to endure, and help her other friend, in whom bitterness grows, endure also.

Altheas days become calmer, and she takes time in the respite to read a copy of "Murder Rended... Mercy Mended...'

She does also still write, but its less painful this time, as she muses.

The gardener is growing some herbs I can use in healing. Some think healing is all about prayer, but it is more than that.

Illness comes from many things. broken hearts, not eating right, not getting sleep, and hatred all contribute . These things , if left unbalanced, can affect the very body. There is some things we can learn from that.

For example, hatred.. how do you counter that? by caring surely.. as I have mentioned before but more, by stirring what is opposite of hate. A dance, such as the one I hear I missed, laughter, such as is found in appropriate jesting, and herbs , to help regulate the need of sleep or to eat. So it is good the gardener is here. Now I just need to help him fulfill his desire to help the orphans grow flowers.

Thedran , discomforts me. He strikes at everyone who tries to show him any caring. And he is a guardian of the orphans! I have been having a hard time not making him my next mission. No more.

He stand in the way of reaching to those in pain. Everyone of us who reach out to someone in pain, he assaults. And he assaults those in pain, taking pride in his inability to use a caring tongue.I wonder if he will jump off a tower twice to get away from me now though, because he just became my next mission....

After i read my book. he did not become so scarred in one week or so. surely this can wait a day or so. also, I may go see the orphans, or brother Marcus for day or so. I can use some time enjoying the labors of service in the shrine I believe.

she prays then, but she is quiet about it..lest the whispers of the flame catch hint , and deliver it to him. In her mind, Thedran is a rock between her and those who cry out in pain from the flames. She will approach this carefully, but she is not going to let him hinder her or those like her.

The evening ends with close friends, not just knights of her order. The mute woman plays in the water breathing through a reed splashing them all. Althea hugs lady Angelina good night and returns to her room. there she tends more to her wounds to make sure they do not infect. then she writes
Sometimes its not easy doing the right thing, especially when you know it will cause more hurt. I continue to hear how the fist act, and are so cruel. It is no wonder thedran is so messed up. he was one of them. It explains alot to me.

I wanted to run then, to go elsewhere...but it is foolish to even think when emotions rage.where would I go? will I so dishonor my god by giving up?I will not. I will not hinder the good, I will heal them and assure no damage will come to them from another. but as of now..unless it is an order given by law, I am not turning one more soul to the fist. If the fist want to hide behind the law, so will I.I will obey it, to the letter.I should probably fine out what that law is though.

as for Thedran..I understand better now.I have one answer from ilmater..

She prays a bit ..and falls asleep as she does.

After a long day praying and reading althea goes to the campfire to se f any are in need. Finding none in need, adna ...as usual, sullen and silent Thedran, she goes to sped time alone by theother small campfire.

There she finds Brother Daedrin. After a small discussion she leaves before becoming upset. The next day she leave the inn to see the notices ut up by both Sister Arabella and Kald. Sighing, discouraged she goes back to her room, which is becoming more of her sanctuary, and prays more. then needing to go out, she goes to the roof, where once shirtza had sat to teach her a lesson , and writes.

Sometimes it is so hard to forgive people, to remember they are not evil, but simply trusting to what they see more than what they hear their god to speak. I really need to learn to remember that.

It is odd to me. I asked around. at one time, Thedran was once the most ardent supporter of an Ilmatari.. of Saint meri. The was always protective of her honor too, and as a for her to the children. I wish I could bust trough his hard armor and scars, and see why he is so bitter.

All I ever see is him ready to kill.I fear he will hinder me. If I reach to him, i will have to hate everyone to weak and hurt to stand. There must be a way to help sooth his pain without forsaking all others.

I have been reading some of the archives of the silver rose also, since I have access to them. It seems there is a very good point made for how to handle evil. It is found in the topic, of rabbit in a garden.

The theory is illustrated in a story of a farmer who has a crop. It will feed many. But Rabbits like his crop. He has to stop them. He may trap them, poison them, stab them, but one way or another he has to destroy them. Is it unthinkable that, in killing the current crop of rabbits, he might also assure the new crop of rabbits does not grow to menace future harvests? He will kill babies too. It is true one may be good, rarely, maybe not eating his crop but some other thing else harmful to the farmer. But it will be rare.

It is the same as that batari I stood in front of. Others would have killed it, even though it begged for mercy, and dropped its weapon. Most batari try to eat me. But this one rare time, one did not.
I am not going to think all batari are good because one failed to attack, but instead asked for mercy. I am going to go on the presumption it will attack me unless it surrenders. So it should be...

It is not wrong to kill the beast, nor should I heal it , if a human , who may be evil but has not acted on it, is in danger. Humans can choose not to act on evil. Some creatures, generally speaking, do not.

I long, sometimes , to fly away and hide from the world...from those who with uncaring words and actions harm others. But I have been to long reading, and am growing weary and some are being left to the mercy of those who mean well but do more harm than good.Tomorrow, I think I need to go on a tour of the land, and do what is right, healing, embracing,if need be receiving harm for their sakes.

She looks out over the battlement again, thinking of shirtza, and of her own personal insistence that if she jumped , Althea would have raised her and made her jump twice.Such a stubborn woman she is.tonight, she prays for humility, and a way to help thedran, without violating her gods command

The rain poars down just north of the orphanage. A crowd is gathered here, of flaming fist, and citizens. In this crowd a woman holds a hin, listening to the charges being read. Half expecting to see some cruelty , she is shocked when they are not cruel.

On the gallows is the woman she once played dice with. well, that she once watched play dice. She had friends here, some in the crowd now stand. Althea remembers this was a nice woman who had some darkness on her. She had never gotten close to see why. Now, a rope around her neck, the woman tenses a bit. althea does not turn away, though she does weep, but does hide the hin from seeing what he thought was going to be a magic show and is not.

After it is done, Althea tends to the hin, and then Althea returns to her room pondering . She writes.

They hung a pirate today.it would have ben good if they had done so a bit futher romthe orphanage. I was shocked they did not burn her or beat her. Maybe they had already done so.

This time, the execution was quick and clean and just. She was a murderer, and she ended as many of those who are broken end, dying at the hands of justice. at least it was not alone in a cave. small comfort . If they had done any other way this execution, I might be turning from this whole place. as it is, I believe justice was done. She was executed for her crimes.

I grow weary of the cruelty of others. Having seen that elf, so long ago, cruelty is something I truly detest.soon there will be more. amn attacked, no surprise. It seems these two countries are intent on killing each other. I wonder where the wounded soldiers are being kept?I wonder if they will allow me to treat any, or if they will only let those who charge help? I should really find out.If I did not know i was called here, I might go somewhere else to tend to those who are broken.

althea leaves the inn today, to gather coin for rent of rooms . As she returns to the north she pauses at the inn campfire. There before her is a person in robes who exudes kindness. Soon she hears the name .. meri.

Stunned althea speaks, making sure it is indeed the living saint. not so tactful she speaks of reading about her. Inside her questions burn , but she sees she is busy with thedran and the other elf.

Theran, the man who is always dour, quick to bite off the heads of any, and cut them off, thedran , who has shown her less than kindness,or indifference at best , shows a respect she has never seen. He is not foul, he is not mean he is actually gentle.

The elf, who once threatened her when she wanted to heal him. she has always ever after been nervous around him. polite, but not daring to be to kind, as he seemed to spurn it. Now he is actually laughing.

Althea asks how long she will be there, and the living saint says a couple days. Althea says farewell them, saying she hopes to speak with her sometime before then. She prepares to leave expecting her to not stay here feet, but she does.

Sister Althea, I would speak before you go.
Althea is stunned but glad, and also sister Louise gets to come along. They go to the alter of the heroes who fought against the bhallists. she speaks.she speaks of how no sacrifice in mercies name is too small ,nor should it be despised. of how those who heal are also called to fight for those who cannot fight also. Then, she answers their needful questions , soothing tier doubts and lighting their path.

there are good on both sides , how do you decide?
There are usually good on both sides. but do not despise the home that has taken you in.
althea feels peace bloom.
what of the red wizards? how are we to deal with them? they are citizens now.

Make sure they obey the law. but, know also that thay chose to serve bhaal. Their leaders are evil, and to become one you need to be so. Do not trust them. If you value your freedom.. stay away from their enclave.
Althea thinks of batari. and she sees thayans in robes are as monsters. One may be good, but most are not.
There are many good men in the flaming fist. Do not listen just to what adventurers say. most of them are good, only some are bad. Support them. The ilmatari here owe them that much
althea leaves then when given leave, pondering these things. Later she returns to her rooms, and writes, then prays

I have been so foolish to judge others path, and so angry they judged mine. I have been ungrateful for my home, and to those who have died that I may know peace.I will remember. I will protect my home
[color=#FFFF00 Ilmatar, my god.. forgive my judging, give me strength, and let me not tarnish the living saints memory nor your name. In the days that come, let my fists which heal also fight against the enemies of the gate... and let me be a comfort to my sisters and brothers, and to those who have accepted your servants.[/color]
she spends time preparing.. in prayer, for the coming darkness. She also sends a notice to her knights.

Althea begins to h7unt for Arabella.. writing first and i prayer.
This is insane. Sister Arabella, so i hear , has ran off, in anger, forsaking all she has stood for? know some will say' he made her choice don't judge' but..

if this is related to that notice I saw? Then we are at fault for causing her pain. And instead of helping we have done great harm to a good and caring woman. Saint Meri , bless her , is very wise , but I think shes missing something.

If i am right, the man I have promised her I will stand by is excommunicating and barring her sisters from serving their god in an orphanage. and , honestly, it was not thedran who gave me gold for medicines and it was not him who supplied the needs I had so i could fight. If we owe the fist for their help, I also owe arabella at least one chance to not go off into pain. I need to calm down. These next words are not words I can speak.

Ilmater.. I know you do not normally do this, but I cannot forget I was standing on a rail over a cliff when you snatched me back. Hinder her path Until I can try to embrace her and bring her back, as you hindered by though a other from jumping that day.
