Do the DMs take into consideration defensive positioning by the players? I have been RPing training players to remain in defensive battle formations (which is akin to trying to herd a bunch of highly caffeinated cats) so as not to be cut off and surrounded. If they are in a defensive line and unable to be flanked. Does the team scale down the prowess of the Orcs, as they would loose the advantage of flanking?

((I would agree with Void's post. but I think adding sth like "The orcs in this post are considered to be rookies/vets." Rookies = Can be taken on in groups.. Vets = 1vs 1 something like that.

I myself prefer HD - 10. This way it makes more sense if a character has 9th circle spells, et cetera.
