Re: DM Rumors of Baldur's Gate
There is a commotion in the farmlands east of the city when a farmer accuses his neighbor of sneaking onto his property at night, and poisoning his flock of chickens. The farmer yells about how he heard frenzied squawking and when he went out to check they were all dead. The neighbor vehemently denied any wrongdoing, saying he was woken by the noise and saw some movement among the chickens when he peered out of his window. After much shouting and exchanging of insults the Fist turned up and ordered the pair to separate.

Another mysterious death occurs. A visiting merchant from Waterdeep is found dead in his room. Other guests overheard a bloodcurdling scream, and when the door to his room was broken down, the man was found lying on the floor by the burned out fireplace, his face twisted in a rictus of agony. Those first on the scene said a chill had settled over the room.

Re: DM Rumors of Baldur's Gate
A farmer in the northern farmlands is heard complaining bitterly about the death of his favourite ratting dog. The farmer seems half terrified, half enraged: apparently one night, when he and the dog went out to check on the chickens, the dog began barking out into the night and ran off into the darkness. Glowing red eyes could be seen, and a yelp was heard, and when the farmer investigated the next morning, the poor beast had been slain.

Re: DM Rumors of Baldur's Gate
A truly strange sight greeted the residents of the East Gate District one afternoon. What appeared to be a tour group from the far-away realm of Thay, comprised of a gaggle of extremely well-dressed (some would say over-dressed) Mulani nobles with a lone female Red Wizard acting as tour guide, came streaming out of the front door of the Thayan Enclave with a contingent of heavily armed Knights escorting them as they roamed about the district. They spent some time visiting local establishments, most notably the Elfsong Tavern and Maltz's, where they sneered at some of the cuisine, wares and other services provided while their tour guide chattered on. Words such as "barbarians" and "uncivilized" were frequently heard, both from the guide and the tour group, much to the chagrin of the shop owners. After a few hours, which included a trip to the Palace District to visit some cultural landmarks, the tour group returned to the Enclave and were not seen since.

Re: DM Rumors of Baldur's Gate
With as little fanfare as when it arrived, the Amnian war galleon departs from the docks of the Harbor District. Heading seaward, it was as if it was never even docked at Baldur's Gate—can can reason if a single load of cargo, or a message was delivered, besides that one procession, to and back, from the private manor of Duke Liia Jannath.
But within days, some newly docked vessels comment that they encountered a similarly described galleon cruising the mouth of the Chionthar, as if searching...or waiting.
With the galleon gone from Baldur's Gate, the Flaming Fist immediately quit with their infrequent and random questioning of sailors about the whereabouts of the Wanderess Crew.
Most sailors in the taverns simply assume the Wanderess Crewmen must all be dead...or worse, wishing they were so....

Re: DM Rumors of Baldur's Gate
A human female, beautiful but scarred, was seen in the Elfsong Tavern, the Helm and Cloak and the Blade and Stars inn, offering a round of drinks to everyone and speaking of the generosity of Guide Teo of Candlekeep, who saved her soul from eternal damnation in the Nine Hells.
As unbelievable as this story seems, the woman is reluctanct to speak of the details - any inquire about them always results in her becoming suddenly pale and shaking like a sappling hit by a gust of wind - but this doesn't stop her from praising the generosity of the Guide of Candlekeep as well as that of his friends in saving her from an extremely dangerous situation.
The woman later embarked on a ship to Waterdeep.

Re: DM Rumors of Baldur's Gate

One of the Flaming Fist lieutenants was overheard stating to his subordinates (while donning a pair of tinted lenses designed to detect traces of magic in the area), that, "it looks like the sewers ... aren't the only thing that smells fishy in this city."
Rumors indicate that it may have been some sort of criminal turf war, or perhaps a black market deal gone terribly wrong.

Nearly a dozen bound and captured bandits are marched into Baldur's Gate by the Everwatch Knights and their allies, to be turned over to the Flaming Fist.
Not long after, gallows are seen being erected.

Rumors float around Baldur's Gate:
The docks of Baldur's Gate were busy today. An expected and anticipated visit from the twin high priestesses of Umberlee graced the docks, sailing in from Luskan. Though the priestesses didn't linger long in the docks, heading straight for the temple.
The self proclaimed Faerun renouned treasure hunter, Fluazifop Dippledopp, was also spotted in the docks today. Several adventurers were seen coming and going from his ship today. Could the gnome be preparing a crew for his next big treasure hunt?

Re: DM Rumors of Baldur's Gate
A public execution was held in Baldur's Gate, by the Flaming Fist Headquarters; the noted bandit Dan, and three of his fellow bandits, previously captured by the Everwatch Knights of Helm and their allies. It is said those who went to the noose did so with a quiet resolve.
Separately, a work gang of criminals, under guard, is seen heading into the sewers for sewer maintenance - rumour has it that this group of prisoners will be a regular feature.
And a small donation is said to be delivered to the orphanage run by the Ilmateri temple from the Flaming Fist compound.

Re: DM Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Strange weather accosted the Eastern Farmlands of Baldur's Gate. There are rumors of some sort of confrontation near the Mercy Orphanage, along with an occasional whisper of drow. The Flaming Fist seemed to arrive too late to witness any altercation.
Several adventurers and Members of the Radiant Heart and Order of the Silver Rose were seen escorting a small group of sickly and malnourished humanoids in rags from the farmlands south of the bridge crossing the river. There, they remain in a makeshift camp setup just south of the river.

Re: DM Rumors of Baldur's Gate
As a paladin of the Radiant Heart was preparing to execute one of her own at the behest of the Duke's for Treason by the aiding of drow, screams and panic erupted from the crowd. The crowd parts to reveal a drow, unveiling herself defiantly amid the presence of Duke Eltan and the Flaming Fist guarding the execution stage. The drow is said to have insulted the Duke's for their foolishness, claiming to have manipulated the paladin Ronin Marcus from the start, and calling to witness his beheading as her final triumph.
As the drow summoned her vile magics to escape, none other than Duke Eltan, commander of the Flaming Fist Mercenaries, Lunged forward with his mighty blade and subdued the creature. The Flaming Fist then bound the creature, and Duke Eltan dragged it to the executioners block, lecturing the crowd gathered on the dangers of drow; their use of treachery, seduction, & betrayal seeking to corrupt even the purest of heart. Denying the drow's cries to see the paladin executed, the duke swiftly removed her head from her body himself. He then imprinted the 'X' brand of exile upon the brow of the disgraced Paladin Ronin Marcus, vowing to execute the man personally should he return to Baldur's Gate.

Re: DM Rumors of Baldur's Gate
At the first light of morning, a sole Knight bearing armor with the seal of the Radiant Heart, and of the Head Chapter of Athkatla, leaves the Chapterhouse and steps into the courtyard of the complex for the Radiant Heart of Baldur's Gate.
There in the courtyard, in the farmlands outside the great walls of the City, the sole Knight kneels, and lowers his head, waiting.
Within seconds, a quick appearing bright light forms in the courtyard, blowing light earth briefly off the ground, as a small group of figures appears a small distance from the waiting Knight.
As the bright light fades nearly as quickly as it appeared, heavily armored and divinely grand figures emerge, themselves also bearing armor and symbols of the Most Noble Order of the Radiant Heart. One figure steps forward to the kneeling Knight, and speaks something softly but firm, and the Knight rises to look upon the Chancellor for the Prelates of Athkatla.
After a few short words exchanged, the group enter the Chapterhouse....

White Mask Theater
Grand Duchess Lia and Grand Duke Entar were seen at a performance in the theater. Lia is rumoured to have more or less dragged Entar there. Somehow Entar managed to hide some papers on his person and occupied himself with those during the show.
