That sounds reasonable. The minimum i would like to see the duration of that spell as well. Definetely no wands/scrolls.

Its worth noting that those Wands and Scrolls are only craftable by Paladins, since the latest updates. You can't use items to craft items anymore, unless you're a Warlock.

The casterlevel issue is linked to certain spells that are using the Kaedrin casterlevel definitions. By BGTSCC defaults Paladins and Rangers have full casterlevel - 4. This has been an issue forever. Its just never been flagged up.

I agree this also sounds reasonable, doesn't last too long nor does it fade way too quickly, and after reading the arguments in that thread, definitely no wands/scrolls even though i think they are quite rare.

The only way I can tell exactly - the character details - says otherwise. It says exactly half the paladin/ranger level.

Even if it is casterlevel -4 , now is a good chance to RCR rangers/paladins for bards.

You don't have to believe me.... I'm not going to open a discussion about it.

I just wanted to let you know where it originates. It explains what Kinkurono already reported about getting +5 EB with a level 21 Paladin.

I wouldn't put much stock in the casterlevel reporter. The values are saved very briefly after casting a spell (a couple of seconds). Afterwards it will simply report the stock game values. Which is also half CL, but that wasn't used during the casting. For that reason it was meant to be disabled: it confuses players who don't know about that.

full casterlevel - 4
I believe his point is that this is still in Greater dispel range.

Its not about believing. Its about getting all kind of different information, for example from the character details - which you informed us we should not pay much attention to it because it is just wrong.

However it is still the issue of the limited multiclassing of rangers and paladins, since now the need Practised spellcaster and can only multiclass with spell progression classes.

Goodbye ranger/cavestalker for example. That build of mine already got the boot.

I don't understand why us paladins would be penalized more than we already are. Some people say we are overpowered, I've been playing a paladin for a few years now on our server and everyone seems to do everything better. Fighters of any sort do more damage than we do, other classes have more AC, better spells, etc etc. To nerf some of the few reasons to go paladin in the first place is ridiculous imo. Are we really CL - 4? I've never seen that anywhere but if that's true then that destroys going 3 or 4 levels in a multiclass and using practiced spellcaster to fill the gap to avoid greater dispels. That would also force every paladin to be the exact same. IIRC the dispel on Holy Sword was only a DC 14, so in no way is it overpowered.

We have full CL progression only rangers have -4 i think, and i do agree with your points in no way paladins are OP, There is no need to nerf holy sword as it is....but oh well time to wait and see how things are going to end up.

Ranger and Paladins were the most balanced classes in the game before the weapons patch, and the bigger one after (I haven't played since, therefore I won't speak of the status quo).

Those claiming one or the other were OP were the "usual suspects" (no idea how this game works, no idea what other classes can do, calling paladin splashes "paladin builds" and so on).

Lamentable misinformation.

Just passing by to say that i like the way the spells are now, seems reasonable.
