Is the high DC for UmD on scrolls a server specific thing. I do not recall it so high normally.

I'm not for spell components. Seams kinda trolly to force on casters.
I suppose to me the runes and cost is a small price to pay for not being instant killed. Unless people want to put in the percent error and you can end up in wrong places or just killed.
Soo. Think things as they are make a fair compromise.
I would also still state places change and memories fade. With out mechanics for it. Leave thing as they are.

Seems like this poll needs 4 options then:
1- Make runes weightless
2- Make "Mark RUne" universal
3- Both
4- Neither

More than two options makes a poll inherently flawed. If you want to go that route better to start with a yes/no option and if the answer is overwhelmingly yes then discuss options. Once you can narrow it down to two options then vote for one or the other. Would also like to point out many folks have more than one forum account which also makes general forum polls less than trustworthy.

If I had to change how memorization worked, I would remove mark rune spell. It wouldn't be needed. As an ooc device, the empty rune could simply function as a place of memorisation. You right click it once, click a clicky and it marks where you are. Subsequently, each time your pass the area marked on the rune, it would familiarise yourself with the spot, in a counter.

We'll probably make them universal (again?). The runes are required for a lot of spells to work properly.

I'll check on it.
I think changing it to a universal spell is literally changing a single number on the spell's .2da. But none of the devs have had time to do it yet, or maybe it's something only Endelyon, Duster, or myself can do!

Almost positive you are correct, thats why I was asking for an update.. super simple fix.

Documented the change a while back, but went ahead and submitted up the updated 2da/hak for staging general school use.

Not sure if a fix was attempted yet, so here's a little update:
The spell 'mark rune' states that its school is universal in the description, but it still cannot be cast by those without access to divination magic. Tested October 5th, 2016 at 17:05 GMT
