Steve I think is right. The duelist is suppose to be a great one handed fighter. While the dervish is for two hands or swashbuckler.

There was once a plan to upgrade the Duelist class so that Improved Parry would synergize with skill points in Parry to give +1 deflection AC per 5 skill points (max 30 or something I think).

That was a long time ago suggestion that slipped through the cracks when Luna went missing...maybe it still had merit, and then balances out the single hand no shield fighting style of the master Duelist?!?
It's in game, that deflection AC for parry ranks. In the server updates and in the wiki !

And no I wasn't the one to add it :P

Was the in game discription updated on parry to reflect this?
My personal view is in red, for I am fancy.

It's the level 7th duelist feat that was changed (elaborate parry), not the parry skill. I think the description of the feat was changed.

Elaborate Parry

At 7th level, the duelist masters the art of defense with his blade. The duelist adds his class level to Parry checks.

The character also receives +1 bonus to AC for every six ranks in the parry skill. This is a deflection bonus to AC, it doesn't stack with any other source of deflection AC.
Great! So, does it max out? For example: a Parry of 42 would equal +7 Deflection AC? Or, is it limited to natural 33 points, thus max +5 Deflection?

Banned for some months.

AFAIK Max +5 deflection based on natural skill level.

It's ranks, so max +5.

That's why I suggest the main gauche as an exception, as the weapon's entire purpose was to pair with a rapier when dueling.

Sure when dueling!!!!!

But for the swashbuckler, dervish and rogue two weapon fighters.

The duelist class is single sword only other hand behind the back. I envision the fencer.

If you want two weapons, buckets and other nifty off hand tricks try the other classes. They maybe the style your looking for.

Let's leave the duelist as the ultimate one hand finesse fighter and not dilute its awesome flavor.

Though I would love to see your suggestion for the other classes.

Says in the latest update post that there are some Swashbuckler changes. What are the changes exactly?

Schrödinger's Cyricism: NPCs simultaneously know everything and nothing about Cyric until observed by the Cyricist. Then they default to the state that disadvantages the Cyricist the most.
