Re: Favoritism...
I think you have some preconceived notions and you don't know the history of the event. It may have been that the event with the DM is an ongoing story line and made sense for the player(s) to be "whisked away" to Uldoon's trail. Once there it could have been that there was a shortcut taken in the "DM Area" as a part of the event. As Pimple stated, XP in DM events is never drastic so I think the reason for the response is that you have jumped to some major accusations that would carry a big time penalty. SoulCatcher has shown himself to be extremely helpful to players during his stint as a DM so most players aren't going to like accusations being thrown around with no evidence. Those screen shots show absolutely nothing that would indicate foul play and yet your post fires cannons of dirt to indicate several things that would get the DM removed from the team and possibly banned from the server, even though nothing was done against the rules.

Re: Favoritism...
Favoritism is a word that strikes fear into the hearts of any DM.
I have brought this up before, but I do not think our defination of Favoritism is clear (or defined) enough to both the DM team itself, and the players -- which is open to abuse on both sides.
I don't think DM Soulcatcher was showing Favoritism to this player, as many story arcs are in small groups, the line is crossed (if) they sololy focus on those players only and non other. If this player took this to the HDM team, they would (probably) mark this as a player complaint, which I have argued before -- should also be defined, I myself do not think this holds any ground but I do understand where the player is coming from.
What can you class as Favoritism? Hosting for one player (or a group) x amount of times? Restricting attention to one or x players? I don't think so. I do think clear guidlines should be put down in regards to this as one DM may host 45 events, while another only 3 thus one DM hosting 20 events for one group of players while another DM hosting all 3 of his events (every month) should raise red flags - but how do you draw the line? And what of DMs like Wagnar who hosted for only one guild for several years? It does seem that the rules are different for everyone here, and this is something that should be addressed.

The only reason im posting this in general is because I am sure others would have felt the same way.

He never said he was inserting himself into the event without RP. To be honest, I'm quite offended by this comment. Of course you can waltz up to any event and be included in the RP taking place, as long as it makes IC sense and the DM allows it. It's clear from Pimple's posts that he was welcome to join in if the situation had made sense.Fury_US wrote:It's rude as eff to think you can just waltz up to any in progress event and just insert yourself with absolutely no lead in whatsoever.

Though it was in poor form, I do understand where you are coming from and glad you made it public to the community (though not in this format) as Favoritism has always been an issue here on BG, and our stance / rules on it should be brushed up and clearly defined or atleast better phrased.ShadowX152 wrote:The only reason im posting this in general is because I am sure others would have felt the same way.

Your feelings and the facts behind it were in conflict. It was based on a false premise. The easiest way to describe it is simply: you were wrong.

I don't feel they were on a false premise, read my earlier posts.Tantive wrote:

Ok, I am going to lock this thread down for now.
Please email the HDMs Dialectic and/or Ditto if you have any questions or concerns on DM misconduct.
Right now, this thread is teetering on misconduct on the forums, which is the moderator's area.
