Re: DM Lobos Removal Letter (for those who requested it)
i'm struggling about this line
we have cloaks that do the same thing that we spend 10's of thousand of gold on and then we don't have any crafting for the sake of putting that out there that ring takes up a slot where a +3 ability ring could be or ac +3 so i fail to see the logic but alas i fail to see alot of the logic on this server.April 4, we received a report that you had given a ring with +1 regeneration as a reward. This is considered a very powerful item and you did not receive HDM permission prior to giving it.

Re: DM Lobos Removal Letter (for those who requested it)
I can't be certain, but my guess is that only cloaks and 1 armor (a half-plate) have +1 regen, giving it on a ring allows for either stacking, or using some of the other cloaks (such as spell resistance 32 or +4 Deflection with extra goodies) while still having the regen. Meanwhile, the ring slot is not a huge loss since for some character builds there are not really any epic rings unless you are lucky with a RIG item. That said this is all just conjecture on my part... +3 ability items are kind of a dime a dozen and +3 AC is easily replaced in any slot besides neck or boots for deflection. Regen has always been kept under tight reign, which is probably why it is considered very powerful to put on a ring.Uther3867 wrote:i'm struggling about this line

Re: DM Lobos Removal Letter (for those who requested it)
a plus 1 regen ring is one of the most coveted items on our server. look at a caster build that will use rings for mostly spell slots add ons. a ring is nothing. and this adds one to your HP totals every 6 seconds. that spells amazing. a barb with 19 regen it would not be as useful. but there are several builds that this would be incredible. what also makes this something is that it is so very rare. the rarity alone makes something that might be only somewhat nice into a very very special item.

Re: DM Lobos Removal Letter (for those who requested it)
Regeneration on items stacks. Standardising it on cloaks for everyone is fair. Letting a select few have on rings as well, is not fair. Maybe if it was obtainable by everyone, but it isn't.
If you want to discuss why it isn't, apply to QC, and we can discuss server mechanics balance.

Regenerationrings are in the loot table.. they are just extremely rare. One of the rarest on the server if I'm not mistaken. What's the big deal if it's on the loot table.. it's a great reward to whom ever got it.. but it's not game changing or unfair.

the rarity is what makes it SOOO special. the worth of it greater due to what it is moreso than what it does.

Regen rings are not in the loot table and the random loot generator can't produce one either. As far as I know they're strictly a DM prerogative.

Just like +5 items aren't in the loot table? So what if a DM put a special item out there that is minimally impacting, 1 regen ring? Cool, not game breaking. Cool reward, unique, not OP. I've gotten a +5 deflect helmet before (Which is I'm guessing nearly unheard of) from a boss drop.

That helmet is legal?
I wonder how much more this thread gets derailed.

I disagree as it was reviewed by the DM team a while back and allowed to be auctioned. So unless something changed, or either of us were misinformed, something is wonky.Valefort wrote:Regen rings are not in the loot table and the random loot generator can't produce one either. Things like this is making a strong argument for an OnJoin filter and remediation of objects exceeding set property ceilings.

There's a big difference between players trading an item and an ADM giving out an item...
