All custom feats/modes break stealth. However, once you activate the mode you can use stealth to your hearts content and the mode will stay active (so long as you have Combat Expertise active, in the case of deadly defense).

I would still prefer STR based Ranger, because you can make full use of Deadly Defense and finessable weapons with stealth bonuses regardless of your Dexterity. Just make sure to have 13 INT score.

how much damg can a ranger do if he use 2 short sword +4?

largely dependent upon the stats and feats. As an example, if we are talking ranger 30...

STR - 26 (w/ +3 item)
DEX - 14 (18 w/ Cats grace)
CON - 11 (14 w/ +3 item)
INT - 14
WIS - 14
CHA - 8

3.5 + 8 STR + 2.5 (deadly defense) + 4 (EB) + 4.5 (Blades of Fury) = 22.5 + 7 (FE's) + 7 (Bane of Enemies) = 36.5

Offhand - 3.5 + 4 (STR) + 2.5 (deadly defense) + 4 (EB) + 4.5 (Blades of Fury) = 18.5 = 32.5

Obviously any additional damage from weapons increases the damage, plus you could be using Northlander Hewing to increase damage. You also could have higher Strength rather easily, but I used a number that should be reached very easily.

While we're at it, I made the following build :

Ranger 26/Harper Scout 4

Sun Elf, starting attributes :

STR 16, DEX 14, CON 12, INT 14, WIS 14, CHA 8. All increases go to STR.

Feats by leveling :

Luck of Heroes, Able Learner, Iron Will, Alertness, Protective Ward, Knockdown, Impoved Knockdown, Epic Prowess, Expose Weakness, Bane of Enemies, Great Strength I,II,III,IV.

Weapons of choice : Kukri of Subtlety + Akromatic Belt (Improved Critical : Kukri).

Would you change anything here?
