If they put her in the next movie, I will forgive the existence of Jar Jar Binks.

whoa, whoa, whoa.
i swore off star wars after that last turd disney dropped, tfa. i refused to watch rogue one because of it.
the original storyline was supposed to be luke becomes convinced he must turn to the dark side, to destroy it from within. i felt tfa ruined that. now i hear luke became a cynical bastard, and i no jj abrams... ...i might go see it.
might....
i still hate tfa so much though, i doubt it.

Rogue one is definitely not a turd... its much much better then the one's Disney is making. You should see it, it will not disappoint.

Hey, Finn and sidekick saved the horses.....yay.
None of this new trilogy makes sense. I'm still at a loss as to where the New Order gets its funding from. They didn't have nearly the infrastructure that the Empire had, yet they build a planet sized super-duper Death Star? No one notices?
Star Wars is truly dead, it's just a platform for selling toys, park tickets and whatever other merchandise they come up with. The story no long matters, only the money. Go Disney.
Rogue One though, love that movie, I'd see another SW movie by that director.

Rogue One is a disgrace for anybody who played Dark Forces. I am happy to say that I haven't seen any of the new Star Wars movies due to the butchering of lore. Whenever I read spoilers, I'm not disappointed by my choice.
After seeing the amount of ridiculous ads on TV for cars with Star Wars and the cereals in the grocery store with Star Wars characters on them, it really is just a cash cow.

the only real canon that counts is is what comes from the 9 episodes. im not 100% sure rogue 1 counts as true canon. star wars EU is comprised of several canon but the only one that is set in stone is what happens in episodes 1-9

This is probably the best attitude and strategy for minimalizing the pain. But I just can't stop myself from going out to see this crap at the first release showing!!!
You can feel the behind-the-scene agendas for capitalizing on these new films, and it really hurts whatever Story exists there, which I must say, seems rather thin atm.
If VIII was edited down to 45 minutes, it might make a decent go of a story. But instead, super bloated film...and what's with all the colloquial dialogue?!? Pretty dumb!

I'm a huge Starwars fan and I thought Ep. VII was a mishmash of scenes cut from Ep. 1-6. Not particularly enthralling plot or dialogue, the most exciting part was probably when Han Solo got the stick from Kylo.
Never bothered with Ep. VIII. I felt no draw whatsoever to watch it.
I will probably see Ep. IX in the cinema for nostalgia's sake but still somewhat undecided.

ep.8 is better than 7. it has more plot and more questions on loyalty. the lines between good and bad get clouded in this a bit. what is a hero and what is a coward and how do they manifest in good and evil.
i am a fairly easy to please kind of guy. i liked the movie.
criticism is warranted though

As an old timer who recalls standing in a 200+ person line to see New Hope back in 1977 (talk about "a long time ago..."), it's all about storyline for me. New Hope felt like the Saturday matinee adventures it aspired to. Like it's not hard to envision how it was storyboarded in comic-like cells, each scene propelling the next.
I enjoyed Force Awakens well enough. And while I had reservations about Last Jedi, I remained optimistic.
The first 30 minutes were a lot of fun. A real kick in the pants set of action sequences. I actually started to become excited that they might actually get one right. But then...
So the whole premise is that a fleet of Imperial star destroyers with MASSIVE ENGINES can't quite catch up with one rebel cruiser. Really? And the bulk of the movie is spent with those destroyers trying to "catch up" with that rebel ship. Really? Like one of those destroyers can't do a little hyper-bump to outdistance the rebels? Come on, guys, who wrote this stuff?
Suspension of disbelief can only be stretched so thin. I probably would have been okay with that whole chase sequence if it weren't for the next major plot flaw. So during that whole chase, we're supposed to accept that Finn and his gal buddy have time to simply pop on down to a casino planet, spend time at the tables, get tossed in jail, have themselves a pony ride, get rescued and taken all the way back to the whole chase thing....REALLY?
That whole side storyline completely ruined it for me. Maybe they'll get the next one right. Hopes are not high. I want to like these movies, I really do. I want them to deliver the same sense of new grandeur the first one gave me. I blame the writers.
