That seems like a fair change.

In my experience you put up a sign that says don't walk on the grass and I say let's play football.

The deal still is we have our rules and in our rules we also say we are not going to make a bunch of rules.
We are a roleplay server that means that metagaming is strictly forebode, needs no rule nor does the staff need that rule in place to warn you for doing it or kick/ban your doing it. We are fair and offer people chances, no one just gets banned for anything for a first incident, warnings are always given before any harsh action is taken.

Just don't do it, plain and simple.

Well most of us that frequent the forums are experienced players and we already do know. For someone completely new to roleplay and this PW whose only experience is single-player CRPG they may not know even know what metagaming is. A don't want to see a whole bunch of rules added either, but I do think the simple inclusion of those five extra words and the hyperlink along with the two existing ones would go a long way towards helping clarifying what the server is all about for newbies.

Agreed. When I played on my first PW ever in NWN 1 I didn't have a clue what it meant to role play. That was the day my life changed.....forever...

I dont think we should just assume that people know that just because this is a roleplay server people will know not to metagame...or for that matter even know what metagaming is Before I played here many moons ago I never knew what metagaming was. Not everyone has played NWN multiplayer before nwn2.

Roleplaying and metagaming are mutually exclusive. By stating what the server is, we state also, what it is not.

Since it is stated that it is a roleplay server, we have stated in an exlusionary manner that we are not an OOC server. Therefor, "Thou shalt not metagame."

Now... back to the gaming then... ICly... without metagaiming. *wink*

I agree with you Rags, but we are roleplayers. Someone just starting out here is not necessarily already one and may need some more guidance in what that does and doesn't entail.
