Subject: DM Rumours of the Sword Coast

Apparently across the Sword Coast, shrines to deities of Nature are being found desecrated and damaged or completely destroyed- sometimes also finding wild animals killed around them as well. There's some grumbling around Farmlands in Baldur's Gate about a rumoured unsuccessful attempt to do the same to shrine of Chauntea, which greatly displeases a number of devout farmers. A ranger of Mielikki living near Beregost was reported to be completely horrified by the act of such atrocity he had found at the nearby shrine to Mielikki.

After hearing of the rumors Vendor Xon and his companion Tom would visit the shrine of Mielikki some days later. He would smile as he noticed that the other rangers and druids already cared for the destroyed shrine and the broken wooden statue. The ranger would plant new trees and sow other plants around the sacred place. Then he would pray to the Forest Queen and ask her for any help so that this won't happen again. Also he would call the wild animals and gather them around the shrine. He would motion to them in the animal languages and also speak in common. "My friends, can you tell me who destroyed the shrine? We need your help. Go and find the perpetrator!"

I might not be a ranger or druid. I might not be running around to be involved everywhere. But i want to help and try to make a difference. I heard the name of the Elder Circle some time ago. I would like to see if we can get in touch and support eachother more.

*Nai, has been in the Sacred Druid Grove guarding day and night for the past few days, getting ready to perform a Silvanite Holy Ritual. Here the Archdruidess is seen having a lovely conversation with Mama Bear, Papa Bear and the Baby Bears probably having nothing to do with porridge.*

The Cloakwoods has grown quieter, the birds sing less and woodland creatures jump at the slightest noise. A dark shadow seams to linger in the forest as once friendly creature to nature now have a rabid blood lust and hate for its own kind. Some Deer, rabbit and squirrel have formed a vicious pack of predators upsetting natures balance attacking all, even adventurers and people of the forest alike. Dark Power is afoot in the Cloakwood as a wild pack of mishmash creatures become craze with hate and blood lust.

Vendor Xon would inform the other rangers and druids and ask for their help to hunt down those tainted animals as fast as possible. Also he would ask them to search for the source of this dark power and continue his own search.

Thistle would help with looking for clues in the Cloakwood. She would ask at the campfire near it as well. Even in the Friendly Arm she would make a stop from time to time and ask around.

She would find it strange that this wood would not come to peace lately. Maybe it is connected? Might be it still had some unresolved business with the dwarfs, golems and shadow druids?

Nai met up with Wolf, Druid of OakFather and Kessa, Druid of Rillfane Rallathil in FAI ... I telled to them what is happening in Cloakwood with the animals and them agree to come Commune with Nai. We had full pack with us as we communed.



Wolf then say'ed to Nai .. him wonders if this has something to do with Orc who has Magmire's Staff?

2 rangers, a druid and a paladin of nature deities wander through Cloakwood. They are looking for any signs of the frenzied animals.

Later another ranger joins them and they pacify the Haunted Mansion. Till the lich is back again.

In the Cloakwood deep with in the shadows you discover the remains of a makeshift alter of black and crumbled stone to some depraved Orcish god. It seams a Flame was cast upon the altar to destroy it and burn much of the corrupted fruit in the area. These fruits altered by dark magics, corrupted and designed to turn these once friendly woodland creatures hostile. The Process used is likely unable to be replicated by another but with study one can learn it was foul forbidden magics at play. With the discovery of this alter and its destruction the threat to the wood has passed (mostly because all the fruit has been eaten and the infected animals destroyed).

Indeed there seam to be a particular hostility of infected animals towards Wolf... for some reason.

with atleast 16 ranks in region you learn It was to some orcish god but whom? to hard to tell sense the shrine was destroyed.

with atleast 14 ranks in Spellcraft, the magic was arcane to create the fruits, but has now long faded and no further info. The Flamestrike that destroyed the altar was Divinish in nature.

With Atleast 8 ranks in Survival you notice only animal tracks, it appears a large humanoid teleported to this spot, constructed the shrine and left via magic.

With 30 ranks in survival a person would suspect a friendly forest person came through here to, just before you all. but stepped very lightly.

Lore Nature reveals this as an unnatural event. There is no known cure beside restoration spells for what few animals survived the infection.


((this was a player driven thing, with the shrine destroyed and his plan completed for now, successful or not? Whom ever wanted to bring frustration to nature is still out there (a player so this is as far as I can take it. enjoy the rp and happy gaming!) ))

This looks like revenges from Orc to Wolfrayn.

A note is left for the Elder circle at the shrine of silvanus, wolf appears to be concerned with the growing number of agrivated animals attacking him lately. The note details his first experience with a herd of rampaging dire boars that came out of the woods near FAI to attack him, the animals themselves appear to have been teleported nearby and pushed towards him in a rush of blind rage, he had to put them down. He mentions an 2 encounters he thinks may be related. One a orc in red robes with a white mask that attacked him not far from the Fai and two the orc in possession of magmires staff who he had threatened and chased after prior. He warns that should these orcs are both dangerous threats and should not be taken lightly.

A ranger visits the Shrine of Silvanus and reads the note. After moving around and carefully searching the ground, he leaves the shrine in a hurry.

Mendel can be seen talking to the Rangers and Druids of the Elder Circle about an Acorn of Water that he has found. He asks about whether there is an appropriate location to plant this.

Deep in the Cloak Wood Wolfryane Nai and Ven sit at the fey circle and speak about wisdom.

Nai, Freya, Mendel and Ven met at the Shrine of Sylvanus.

Later they traveled by plant to the Lionsway where they met with more druids.
All learned a lot.
