I'm seeking anyone with information in regards to the Yondalla Yarns. I can be found in the Bearded Mermaid or the Friendly Arms Inn. Or leave a message with the Barkeeper addressed to Sel.

Re: Rumors & Events of Baldur's Gate
Over a glass of wine within her private quarters within the Everwinter Estate Netanya would ruminate over the events of the pass tenday. She couldn’t help but find herself disgusted and betrayed by the one deity regarded as the creator and protector of the elven race. She never expected or requested his blessings nor did she expect him to insult that which he created and proclaimed to cherish. That any member of a sub-race of exiled and cursed former elves would curry his favor and merit his protection was an abomination. 10,000 years may seem a long time for other races but for elves, particularly Moon elves, the unspeakable brutality inflicted upon Orishaar by Ilythiiri is not easily forgotten. The punishment inflicted upon the dark elves was justified and deserving and naught to be undone for one drow regardless of how fervently it prostituted itself at the foot of Corellon. It was such reprehensible acts that had sewn distrust amongst elves and triggered the Crown Wars and she would naught found herself surprised were another such altercation triggered in response to this abomination.
Curse Corellon Larethian and curse the elves that enable this atrocity
With that Netanya would take one long swig of her wine to assuage her utter disdain.

Purportedly on a dare, an elderly half-orc was seen lifting an entire caravan wagon completely over his head with arms fully extended on the Twenty-Ninth, not far from the Outer City's Crossroads.

After a very long and difficult visit back home
with her family, River made her way back to the Sword Coast..
A distant smile lingered on her features..
as she looked forward to sharing tales of home
with those she'd missed..

Rumors & Events of Baldur's Gate
Charity Kitchen
Offering solace in collective endeavors
Offering solace in collective endeavors
Enstrusted by the project of someone who cares for the future of the city, The Temple of Ilmater wishes to help establish a charity kitchen in the docks of Baldur's Gate, in answer to the recent troubled times, and to help the most vulnerable see another day.
The project is meant to offer meal to the hungry while providing work to those in need. The upper floors will serve as shelter to make sure that none would endure the cold and die in the streets again.
Should any be interested in partaking, helping or supporting the project, they shall be very welcome to find the Guardian Nathan Goldenmane or Sister Ashenie in the Temple of the Broken God. Any help may offer to make a new step to prevent most enduring times within the city, and cherish dignity for the citizens.
Mercy upon all,

Osric of House Vale Addresses the People
After delivering his speech, Osric would direct any who wished to join the war effort to Fort Triel to join Lord Lyonaler and the Radiant Heart. He quietly instructs the House Vale guard complement to scour the city and set to flames any Zhentarim declarations, but to leave their threats for all to see.Good people of Baldur’s Gate! I ask you, hear me!
You have doubtless seen the feckless writings of the Zhentarim and their allies, perhaps splayed about as vapid stationery, or even rained from the firmament like so much waste from the harbor gulls.
They write to cast blame. They have emptied all the inkwells in Darkhold to conjure grievances to put to vellum. They think because it is the Lord’s Alliance that marches upon them, they can condemn this great city. They posit that they now have justification for the atrocities they intend to commit.
Do not be fooled.
Behind all their clever words is a single, resounding message: Because the Zhentarim are not getting their way, they mean to kill us all.
Think on what has actually transpired. The Lords’ Alliance marches upon Darkhold, its host comprised of soldiers from other free cities. Baldur’s Gate withdraws from its treaty with Darkhold. The Gate sends no Fist mercenaries to the front. Any of this city who goes to aid the front does so of their own volition, not on behalf of the Gate. The Dukes send not a single soldier to combat!
And what do the Zhentarim do in response? They could have sent their letters straight to the Dukes. They could have sent their scribings to the Lords' Alliance. Instead, they threaten you, with parchment from the sky.
I ask you - is that fair? Is that just? No, of course not. But what would the Zhentarim and their allies know of justice?
The Zhentarim want you to think that because a treaty is dissolved, the only outcome is war. I say to you: that is a lie! That is the narrative they want you to buy into. But who has really chosen a war with you, the free people of Baldur's Gate, here? Certainly not the good people of this city, not the Dukes, not the Gate! War is their choice, not that of the free descendants of Balduran! War is their choice because Baldurian coin will no longer flow into their coffers. War is their choice because their corrupt whispers will no longer hold sway at court!
For these reasons, they train their eyes upon the good people of this city. And they have made clear that they care not for the masses, the innocents, the good people of this city who have not had any say in the matter. They will lay waste to us all. Their vows of peace and prosperity are shown for what they are - worth less than the wind upon which those empty promises were spoken.
You need only look to their own fetid words to know I speak truth:
These are the words they have sent to the good people of this city because a trade treaty was severed. These are the threats they have levied at you, the innocent people of Baldur’s Gate, because we no longer submit ourselves to their terms! These words are not directed at the Lord’s Alliance, not at the Dukes, not even those who march upon their precious stronghold in the Sunset Mountains. This 'Vigilator' has the temerity to address his intimidation to all citizens of the coast.AsuraKing wrote: ↑Mon May 30, 2022 4:57 pm [...] will continue to result in Bhaal’s embrace coming for the masses, both innocent and guilty as their souls get sent to Myrkul.
You reap what you sow, and the Lord’s Alliance and those that support them have crafted a terrible tapestry of death and destruction with the Coast as their canvas.
Vigilator Baron Barristan Schulltze
Why?
They mean to unnerve you, to intimidate you, to cow you into submission. That is who they are. They think because they themselves are slaves to even more sinister masters, that you will follow suit. They think because their words are careful and calculated, that you will not be able to see through their deception.
Do not be fooled. Do not submit. Do not waver.
In the face of mad tyrants who have abandoned reason for wanton violence, in the face of war criminals who consort with drow and send dragons to scorch the earth, in the face of murderers who mean to take from you all that you hold dear, we cannot - we shall not - falter!
Let us steel our resolve! Let us stand together with our fellow patriots of this free and fair city and defend our home! Let us make it known to the Zhentarim that we are not afraid of their threats, that we will not kowtow to their whims, and that we will not back down from a fight!
Glory to Baldur’s Gate! Glory to Her People!

11th Mirtul, Baldur's Gate - The Captain of the Whitewood Vanguard, Michael Dunn, turns himself in to the Flaming Fist and is charged with violence against his wife. Eyewitnesses claim that he entered the premises without any of his possessions, except for a pillow and a blanket.

15th Mirtul, Baldur's Gate - Leaflets signed by Gerhard Van Faust are placed in the Eastern District. Replies were quickly issued, labeling the claim as false.
18th Mirtul, Lion's Way - The air around the lighthouse is briefly disturbed by a burst of magic, after five people from the Bladestone Foundation accessed it. 23rd Mirtul, Gullykin - A dark skinned man claims of having seen the murderer and describes her as follows: a woman, young sounding. Relatively short and fit, though wearing clothes that covered her well. Her face covered by a sack, and by her side, a heavy duty crossbow capable of splitting a body in two.

Along with word of River's quiet return home, news begins to spread that she has recently
reached out to those in charge of Baulder's Gate Real Estate in an effort to finally
purchase the home within which she will build her public library. With a heart for
teaching those who remain illiterate and a love for learning she hopes that her
small but humble library will be a place of solace and peace for those seeking to
research, study or simply further their knowledge.

Not long after his visit to Kraak Helzak, Osric returns to the Lords' Alliance offices in the harbor district of Baldur's Gate. He speaks with Jonathan and presses a neatly scribed letter for him to forward.

Re: Rumors & Events of Baldur's Gate
A lithe female draped in a skyblue tunic of Calimshan silk and decorated with intricate depictions of the lunar phases in silver thread, can be observed come nightfall in the various establishments throughout Baldurs Gate, over the course of a tenday.
Encircled by swirling motes of pure moonlight the woman styling herself as a bardess under the stage name the Moonlights Muse plays her latest song to those whom lend an ear, a bright and joyful melody performed on her Ashwood lute and accompanied by her gentle voice. She presents her song under the title Moonlights Companion and gives an impassionate performance, beaming with joy at the audience and smiling brightly each time she breaks in to the chorus.
Bringing her melody to an end with a prolonged chord, looping the ending as she breaks in to a soft and joyful laughter, she bows and curtsies to those paying her attention.
The entertainer continues throughout the late hours of the night, performing various of her own works such as The Flight of Karn and The Cycle of Season, as well as a number of interpretations and covers of primailly Mintiper Moonsilver's vast musical catalogue and a dozen dwarven drinking songs from the north.
Any interested patrons in tipping the minstrel are kindly directed towards the various temples and benevolent efforts in the city, that will aspire to lessen the suffering of the victims of the war.

before the begining of all things.
A prelude to most gods,

"Fierce a battle there was fought,
between the darkness and the light.
And where once were only one,

Thus when Shar Selûne defeated,
all her children then was born."

Should any such recipe be be delivered to the establishment, the Breadflower Bakery shall make all available effort to host a stall for a minimum of one full week at the location and menu-theme of the delivering party's choice; or upon the Tradeway outside Baldur's Gate if there is no other preference. Alternate negotiations are available at seller's request.
Should any news or contact be sought, please address correspondence and deliveries to:
Sayushi Furuki, Breadflower Bakery
The Lucky Coin, Hammer Hall, Greenest.

Re: Rumors & Events of Baldur's Gate
A parchment is posted in several places for easy reading
OOC: Honestly, yes, please if you have any ic or ooc questions about the BSF, please ping me on discord or send me a PM. This sort of thing has been going on and off for like 2 years now. I know some of it is IC driven and that's fine, but some of it isn't, and I'll be happy to clear it up either way.
Hello Everyone
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I am putting ink to parchment to address a few issues I have heard of lately and want to put to rest. These issues are brought to me by my staff and members of the Bladestone Foundation and Warrior's Rest on multiple occasions of late but never has anyone simply come to me to ask for clarification directly as the Headmaster.
1) The Bladestone Foundation is NOT part of, a subsidiary of, owned by, ruled by, controlled by, or influenced by the Whitewood Vanguard.
Yes, a member of the Vanguard currently owns part of the shares of the Bladestone Foundation and Warrior's Rest and the Vanguard members are often there.
They are there as paying patrons as is a lot of people. We see traffic ((NPC, DM vetted)) from multiple places and people such as the Merchant League and the local farmers and villages as well as Beregost. However, that does not make the Foundation part of, owned by, ruled by, or controlled by those individuals or groups. This is the same silliness that has been rotating through for years in regards to the Foundation for whatever reason. Last year we were supposedly owned or controlled by the Blackroses because some of them stayed in the inn. Before that, because we didn't immediately throw them out, it was the Black Abby or the Zhentarim. Before that, we were supposed to be an extension of Candlekeep and an expanding militant arm of the Library. Prior to that we were a Ducal Military Outpost there to impose Baldurian rule upon the surrounding land.
None of this has been true, clearly, as they are all rather mutually exclusive. Neither is this nonsense true. The Bladestone is controlled by exactly one thing:
The Bladestone.
If another group wishes to pay to use our facilities as are publicly advertised, that is there prerogative. It does not make us "owned" by them simply because another faction visits regularly or has shared membership. That would be like saying because members of the Radiant Heart and Darkhold have had many non-violent conversations and co-habitations of the campfire on the road by Baldur's Gate, they are clearly one in the same. Further, how common is it for people to be members of more than one organization? This does not put one organization under the thumb of the other simply because someone participates in both. The Radiant Heart and Doron Amar have like members in leadership positions. Does this mean the Heart controls Doron Amar or visa versa? Of course not. Neither is this the case here.
2) We are not a militia or a mercenary company. We are a school and an inn and a trade post.
Do we have guards? Yes. We live and exist quite a ((ICly anyways, not map wise)) ways away from anywhere in a dangerous part of the Coast. Do we have patrols in the area? Yes. Part of our goal since establishment has been betterment of local community. To that end we have had several outreaches to local farms and towns such as Blueglade and South Pine ((npc towns, DM vetted and evented)). Our patrols through "no man's land" are to discourage bandit activity and make the area safer for travel for people coming to or from the area. Recently, some of our guards are taking part in helping guard caravans of refugees from the war in the North's hotter combat areas to further south away from the fighting. Are they in our "sphere of influence"? Not typically, but they are innocent people who are caught in a dangerous situation, and our people helping a community at large an in need. In the same way we also brought food into Baldur's Gate during the last year's winter famine, and the city is clearly not in our sphere of influence either.
3) We are not an exclusive club.
We welcome pretty much anyone outside of a few exclusions. All that is required or requested is follow the few very simple rules when in the property, which are clearly posted. All are welcome to come, train, enjoy a drink, whatever per the services listed at the school and inn.
4) We ARE a school, inn, and trade post.
The Foundation in the last few years has worked hard to become a community center for the "no man's land" area it is based on. We have partnered some with the Rocky Creek for a fully staffed trade station for the locals and any travelling merchant. We offer short term and long term classes in combat, combat theory, weaponry, and are working on adding some magics to that list as well. We have a fully staffed inn with couches, a hearth, plenty of seating, and a bardic stage. We have a variety of rooms for rent for long and short term, as well as other facilities that can be rented for events and meetings such as the arena and conference meeting room. We have an expansive menu of food and drink and very few rules.
I hope this puts to rest the majority of questions and rumors about what the Bladestone Foundation and the Warrior's Rest are and are not.
If you have any questions about these sorts of things, bring them to me, either in person or via letter dropped off at the Foundation ((PM)). Please stop accusing my people of being something they are not or telling them the Foundation is "clearly" doing something it isn't.

Re: Rumors & Events of Baldur's Gate
Strange tremors, and rumors of collapses in part of the city are heard. Rumor holds that unexplained lights, rumblings, and eventually explosive collapse occurred in the abandoned area known as the Undercity, under the repeated efforts of a small group - an Ilmatari priestess, a noodly wizard, a pair of paladins, and a blonde-haired man. Though these fellows have gone to the cursed place beneath the city monthly for over a year, until now darkness still reigned there. However, there is word that after whatever events occurred today, a certain temple lays in ruins, the ground permanently consecrated and the presence of the tormented souls that corrupted that place freed. The ceilings are said to have collapsed, that placed kissed by the sun for perhaps the first time ever. Anything further is just conjecture, though perhaps eyewitnesses could speak to whatever occurred.
