I am also of the mind that this split is overall fantastic and a great job from all developers, I can’t thank you enough. Stoked for patches to start rolling out and correcting the minor issues thus far.

I'm not really sure a server split has been done on NWN2 before, so it really is the frontier IMO. Even with the bugs, the fact that it is at this step in the procedure should be looked at as a win.

In regards to instability, the server has always gone through periods of instability when the population limit was fiddled with, so having this adjustment period is not surprising.

From what I saw of the server split test a while back I loved it. The outdoor wilderness areas are absolutely great and something that was sorely missing before.

Sometimes I wonder, wouldn't we just make a game from scratch ourselves with this wonderful team.. Keep up good work guys!

It would just be that—and how it appears to be in most instances—DM events are held on DM maps/Areas, anyway (yes, there have been a few exceptions lately...but that is just lately!).

Do PCs need their packhorses on DM Area maps? Most likely 95.675% not. Would DM Areas separate from Public Areas help with transitions and buffs, resting—or not if you are on the Rest clock timer? Yes, it would help that lose of buffs, loss of Stealth, loss of summons...for when on EITHER Server, actually.

Lastly, I expect to read a response shortly that says "this was considered, but...", and I'd be glad to know why it was considered, and why it was instead made as it is now. But perhaps, in lieu of the current situation of REALITY, maybe it should be reexamined, how exactly Areas are split between the Split?!?

I swing by to check out the server after being away for quite a while and I can't say I liked any of what I saw. I'll not type out the long list of issues I have with the split, as they've all been pretty much outlined in this and other topics by other players, but I agree with most of them. Steve's suggestion would certainly fix a lot of them. It'd not be ideal, but it'd be much, much better than the current state of the server.

Complete vault wipe + level 20 max and alt feats (I forget what they are called, but basically allows progression beyond 20) with RP EXP magifying adventure EXP would be my preference. But it won't happen.
