Isn't there also a new Svirf "secret" village Area in the pipe line??

yup, it was a tad paused, but earlier today I took the project. Asuraking made the map, I'm making NPCs and conversations.

I should be done with it by the end of the year, hopefully it'll be in game by early january

edit: also, remember, rockrun is NOT a svirfneblin settlement anymore. This is a new village entirely, though it'll be in the upperdark (not sure exactly where, though.)

That looks amazing!

As to where, there's a non-functional transition in Blackrock that isn't being used

Maybe the tunnel run scout in Mist Lake, next to the quest giver for the elemental, could guide Svirf (and ONLY svirf) to Rockrun? And put a passage in Rockrun to Varalla's that has a magical password that only people who speak Svirf can read and the passage is too small for medium characters? (Speak Friend and enter from LoTR but it's Svirf instead of elf).
Possibly. Or just let svirfs choose to be surface or UD characters, like tieflings can.

We'll consider something.

Brilliant! I hope this comes to pass. Great idea.

I managed to try out both routes to Rockrun, Oghrann is definitely less populated with monsters... if only I'd thought of going invisible on my first try through Forgotten city  At least the mobs don't have any wacky true-sight weirdness, it gave me a chance to finally see that map, very cool.

As for the survival rolls at the various transitions, and the "in-between" map you get shuffled to if you fail a roll, I do like those changes. But I can see how it might get frustrating for a character with no survival investment/gear. I also found my way to the upperdark exit into a certain cave... I totally was not expecting to be unable to go back the way I came after fighting through the murder chests  WAY better(and more fun) surface exit implementation than it was before.

Any spawn point that is in the upperdark would be great, but if the new Svirf hang out is going in soon, then it might be a moot point(I don't think there's many deep gnomes running around).

Buy the uncaring Ao, please no.

Svirfs are likely to be the LEAST common Race that can be made into a Player Character, AND found on the Surface.

All that needs to be done is that Svirfs are given the option to always spawn from the Nexus to the new Svif village, and, that the Svirf village gets a Home Location out the gate.

Agreed. I don't think we need surface svirfs. Regular gnomes are annoying enough. I think they should just get easy passage between the new svirf village and S'shamath, and they can find their own way to the surface like my UD tiefling does.
