Re: Player Names
Mealir would hear tell of the Coast Way Adventurer's Guild having formed in the Elfsong Tavern so very recently. And, if Mealir was present at the Elfsong for any length of time—even taking a single drink would be enough—he would hear of or even see a man going around introducing himself as Odilon the Guardian, and himself being of this fledgling adventuring guild.
All said, sooner than later, and even possibly as Mealir is hanging up this poster in the Elfsong, he would be tapped on the shoulder by a man—this Odilon—who would address him so:
"My good fellow...if you need able hands both brave and daring for a deed that presents adventure and promise of profit, then I would speak with you further...and introduce myself to you as Odilon, Guardian of the Mnemonicon, and one of the Coast Way Adventurer's Guild...at your service."

A bronze skinned elf with hood drawn low, sits in a nearby booth alone, quietly sipping from a crsytal stem glass. His eyes remain on the glass but his attention is taking everything going on around him in the tavern, including the Captain posting the notice as well as the man engaging him.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Mealir, staying for a drink at the Elfsong, would reply to Odilon after sizing him up briefly :
"Well met Odilon. Coast Way adventurer's guild ? Heard it formed recently... hey at least you don't call yourself the Titans or some such ! Good simple name I say. If you're staying around for a couple of hours I should come back to the Elfsong. Then we'll talk about the job and you could present me your adventuring company ?
For now though you'll have to excuse me, I must hang a couple more posters, two adventuring groups are needed at least after all !"
With a smile he would then bid farewell to Odilon and leave the tavern.
// I'll log in this evening then

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
A diminutive young woman could be seen running around the city, a heavy oilskin sack slung over one shoulder. She would stop at a few key locations in the various districts: the Temple of Ilmater, the Shelf of Many Books, the White Mask Theater, and the Merchant's League.
She would leave a sheet of paper and a card to the possession of an available representative of each place before running off for the gates, already a little short of breath.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
After a palatable meal (a glass of whole milk, a jar of presumably first-class honeyed cucumbers and a turquoise-gilt box, which harbored fine-tasting biscuits) in the Helm & Cloak, a gamely expressive-faced Dave Counterpunch is seen strolling towards the Shelf of Many Books.
A beige colored document in professional-political script titled rather incendiary: The Grandmaster, is clasped firmly in his velvet-gloved hand; suggestive enough the finally finished article itself could withstand exceptionally horrible battering rams.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
After having spoken briefly with the Captain, Odilon observes being observed by a smooth-faced individual in the back of the room.TheKai wrote:A bronze skinned elf with hood drawn low, sits in a nearby booth alone, quietly sipping from a crsytal stem glass. His eyes remain on the glass but his attention is taking everything going on around him in the tavern, including the Captain posting the notice as well as the man engaging him.
As is his way, Odilon marches across the room, ale in hand, and plunks his large frame down opposite the sitting observer-from-a-distance.
"Well met my good fellow. You seem the curious sort...are you here to hear the wonderful song of the ghost elven maiden? Or...do you seek more?"
Odilon shifts his weight, then waves to the barmaid to have a drink for himself and this elf, delivered to the table...on his tab.
"I am called Odilon, and at times, I represent the Coast Way Adventurer's Guild. Most that sit at these tables are individuals seeking adventure...could that be you? I have been wrong before...but am I wrong this time? I think not...."
Odilon grins at the hooded elf, and waits to see if his outwardly friendliness makes an impression.

The elf tenses as the tall human approaches. He doesn't speak for a moment while the large one orders the drinks and sits. Judging him to be somewhat jovial at the moment, the elf relaxes his guard just enough to meet the gaze of the human with a small smile on his face.stevebarracuda wrote:After having spoken briefly with the Captain, Odilon observes being observed by a smooth-faced individual in the back of the room.TheKai wrote:A bronze skinned elf with hood drawn low, sits in a nearby booth alone, quietly sipping from a crsytal stem glass. "Your intuition is correct, sir. This guild you speak of..I have heard talk of it's budding. An interesting prospect for myself and one that could prove...useful."
He does not look up as the barmaid puts two drinks on the table, instead saying in a melodious tone "You may call me Arumil"

"Then, my good pointed ear fellow, you're in! Welcome onboard...I mean, you're hired...no...I mean to say there is a hole and you're best fit to fill it...no, uhm...the door's open to ya...damn, blast it..."TheKai wrote: The elf tenses as the tall human approaches. Odilon thinks to give up trying to find the best words...and failing. But then:
"The Company welcomes you, good fellow. Fair shares, a little danger, great rewards. All you need to do is take a bold step!"
Odilon beams, his smile an ambassador of his diplomatic attempts with the elf.
"Come...tell me about yourself, and I'll share you my story as well. Soon we'll be good companions—along with others."

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Kheeldriver emergency relief force
*frantic scribbled notes start appearing all over the coast*
The undead force outside of Kheeldriver is expected to reach the village of Kheeldriver tommorrow!. I will be forming up a relief force of whoever is willing to fight for the town. We will teleport north from the Boarsky bridge in the morning. You can expect bad odds, and most likely we will be defending walls.
Initial scouting reports indicate the attacking force will consist of large numbers of mindless undead, zombies, skeletons, and large golems. There is a heavy taint of plague in its wake.

Sani
ps: You may have had disagreements in the past with me. I am willing to overlook those and work with you in order to save this town. I do not care who you are, if you are willing to try and stop the undead, your welcome. However, no summoning undead, demons, or turning into demons etc. Use your common sense on what skills you have that we will not be forced to react negatively to.
((( event is 15 GMT, 10 AM CST, Saturday 4/18

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
It is said that the tall red headed priestess known as Tegan, has been walking around the gate of late. Her attention has been specifically around empty buildings and lots making small notes in a notebook as she admires the buildings, walking around them with a curious expression, excitement is evident on her face. Between times the woman carries on her traditional regime of handing out big beautiful flowers and sweet kind words.

It was a lavish and well-attended affair.

A three mast merchant ship docks in Baldur's Gate. A Notorious Red Wizard boards it. A few hours later, it sails away.
"Cast off, brothers and sisters."
The luxurious ship sails away with unatural speed, disapearing from sight.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
A man stumbles into the gate, bruised and broken. He looks around confused, while walking aimlessly around the gate. He can sometimes be heard muttering things as:
"Wh- .. Where am I? . . . Who am . . . I?"
Those who know the man, might recognise him as Drake Naïr, though they might now realise that they haven't seen him around for a long time . . . Perhaps his battered appearance is an indication why . . . ?
