Where are you guys testing new stuff? Is there an updated version of JEGs?

well, right now mostly testing stuff in game...since it's implemented. That said,

There is not a new version of JEGS (public or QC), most of what we were testing was on server 2 over the past several weeks (QC only server that only gets opened for certain periods of time).

Not sure if that is what you were looking for, but hope it helps.

I was wondering about this as well. Where can us normal players test all the new stuff before doing the RCR? I wouldn't want to pass up on 100% RCR offer, but I also don't want to mess up the new character by not testing and examining new content.

I'm not sure when the next JEGS release will be. Right now the devs are mostly working on fixing active bugs.

That being said, the nice thing about a 100% RCR is that if you don't like your RCR you can redo it. At the moment, then, you can technically test the new content live on the server.

As noted, we will give everyone a week or so's heads up before we switch the RCR back to the 50% level -- so if you find you don't like the new content and want to go back to your old build, you'll certainly be able to do so.

Just remember to transfer your items and gold when you do it, either with a player or with a DM. Don't campfire it, because you're risking the loss of all your items if you do that. Especially while we're having DDOS attacks.

*Ahem* I'd just like to point out that some poor souls don't get to play with the new toys.
If you're heavily invested in the Wizard class the fact that scroll scribing is broken (Many spells do not scribe and those that do can't then be copied into a spellbook) means you can't RCR without losing a big chunk of your high level spells.
So some of us are sitting in the corner watching all the cool things go by.

Not to mention that not all of us have 30 or epic level toons which they can RCR to test the new content.

I'm sure they are working on fixing the bug. Everyone should be given a chance to rcr their characters.

^ Good points above. And I'm sure JEGS will be updated to feature the new content at some point in the future. But it's important for us to make sure that all of that content works in the live server environment before we release it for test-building purposes. Right now the content is being patched and repaired too quickly to really release a reliable trainer.

The fact that it's being patched and repaired so quickly is, of course, a great testament to Duster47 and Rasael, as well as our QC team and those among our bug-stomping players who are reporting live bugs.

I am hoping the RCR's will be 100% for some time while things are fixed. I would rather not reroll any of my casters until everything is working as it should and set in stone. That way I don't have to do it again and again.

Fear not. As noted in the announcement, there will be plenty of advance notice before the RCR bot is scaled back to normal levels.

I'm just going to go against the flow here and say that I hope the 100% RcR feature gets turned off sooner rather than later. I mean, it's great that players get the chance to optimize( ) and try out new things, but this free XP refund is, IMHO, not at all good for server/character continuity. We now have a plethora of new characters in the teens(some in the epics) running around, which sounds great at first, until you take a look down the scry and hardly recognize anyone, then realize the vast majority of these RcR'd mid-level characters will have offered zero to minimal RP that establishes them in our persistent world.
There are no level 30's, only level 20's with benefits...

LET'S NERF THE RCR SYSTEM!!!

But seriously, so many shelved lvl 30 PCs are being RCR'd into builds simply to "try out" which is the most powerful, and capable to solo the most bosses possible on the Server, solely in order to gain mad lootz as quick as possible.

I am glad that we do have the RCR NPC—considering how many PCs I simply erased before it existed—but I also wish there was some sort of limit to its use, like 1 x per month, per CD Key.

I really do not believe that RCRing straight to lvl 30 with a totally new character concept—especially if it is solely to see how well you can game the Server for lootz—does anything to further/generate RP.

This is just my opinion, and I really don't blame anyone for doing this, since it is within the current rules/paradigm of the Server. But damn... :|
