Right now I'm level 22 and haven't seen a single protection from evil wand or staff in the auction hall or found any protection from evil potions in any loot drops during my entire play-time, and I check the auction-hall two or three times a day.
I suppose that unfortunate reality is going to be easily dismissed by you as more complaining. I don't mind criticism, but it actually has to be constructive. Just out of curiosity, what class is your character Leo?
Rogue 3/Swashbuckler 20/Weaponmaster 7. Potions of protection of alignment are not called as such, so it is easy to miss them. Sometimes you have to look in the description to see what effect does the it have.

I examine every item before I sell it, I have not found a single pfe potion in 22 levels. Revealing to me that you chose to combine the most over-powered prestige classes doesn't do much to convince me that the underdark is reasonably balanced towards melee classes either.

Did you check the potion shop?

I checked every shop I can find in Sshamath.

I am not sure why you refer to the WM as several PrCs but that aside, 5th level of Weapon Master was my 27th level.

Ahh, swashbuckler is considered a "base class", which doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me since it was added with the expansion and not a core class of the game, but terminology aside my point still stands. You could just as easily start AA at level 1 and call it a base class. The name for it is not as important as the point.

Hm, I see. I have never met someone who thought Swashbuckler one of the most over-powered classes. Are you by any chance interested in making a swashbuckler? There haven't been that many of them lately. Plus, you could bask in that awesome power that they get.

If he had started playing an offensive spellcaster wizard, I suspect we'd be looking at complaints about the rest timer being too long and monster saves being too high...

I don't know what you're trying to achieve with your sarcasm but it's not appreciated. Are you going to honestly tell me that landing a x3 critical hit which drains 2 pts of strength and constitution on a roll of 13-20 did not factor in to your class choices at all? Or the +4 AC +1 Luck of heroes combined with drow's intelligence apptitude and the application of your int modifier to damage?

I'm a ranger with spells and the rest timer is way too short. Even at level 22 I never ever have to even think slightly about my spell selection and I've got a wimpy progression table. I don't know what you hoped to contribute to this discussion with that remark but thank you for your input.

If your spells' duration is too short, check the Fountain of Endless Elixir in Southern Sshamath, as Iso said. It is the best potion shop on the entire server, in my opinion. Although I am surprised that a character of your level doesn't carry a stash of such useful potions as potions of warding, stoneskin, blurry eyes, shield, heroism, heal, etc...

You've complained that spellcasters have their cake and eat it too in the UD, but my experience is the opposite. Your forum join date is three weeks ago, so your experience of the UD is rather limited at this point in time.
As time goes on, you will learn how to fix the mistakes that you've initially made. You made a character thinking that things will be like X. You found out that they are like Y. Your options are to push for changes so that things are more like X, or adapt to the setting and deal with the fact that things are like Y. You don't seem to be all that fond of adapting, as most advice that I've seen given to you has been ignored.
Yes, your join date is a factor in my comments. I've seen it many times before, and it will continue to happen again. I thought I knew it all when I joined this server, but you really do need to adapt to the setting and not push to have the setting adapted to suit you.

Either what I say has merit or it doesn't. The time and date of me signing up on the forums is irrelevant. I abstained from signing up until I decided this server was a good investment of my time. Like I said, my character is level 22. That didn't happen over night.

That's fine. Can you tell me at how many days exactly my opinion becomes worth entertaining? Is it at the one month mark? Two months?
You're essentially making an argument from authority saying "I've been here longer than you, therefore your opinion is invalid." Have you actually addressed anything I've brought up? No.

melzaren, you are the first person in 3+ years that I have seen bring up these complaints. In all my time playing in the UD, I cannot remember another player making the complaints that you have, in game or on the forums.
As time goes on your character will acquire better equipment. Eventually, what is impossible now will become challenging, and then it will become easy. You have to keep in mind that your character is probably not using the best equipment available to him. Since you haven't posted your build on NWN2DB, we also do not know whether or not you've made a weak or strong build for this server.
I've played three characters to level 30 in the UD, and two others up to level 20. There are many others with as much experience that haven't seen a problem with the balance in the UD.
That said, it took me four days to get to level 2 in the UD when I first joined this server and the place was very daunting. That's just how it is, and many players like the challenge. If you want easy mode, perhaps try the surface?
