The force passes through region, leaving wilted grass and occasional slaughtered animal in its way.
Few adventurers notice the trail and attempts to investigate. It is quite obvious that the number of creatures passing through is quite large.
As they talk about the situation, a wounded merchant with a sole remaining bodyguard stumble from the way undea headed. The adventurers heal the merchant and the soldier, and the merchant complains about lost goods and lost protifts. Also dead guards.
By his words, his caravan was attacked and utterly destroyed by hail of arrows, to the point where nothing is left that could be salvaged. The adventurers attempt to entice the guard into joinign them, but the wounded guard firmly refuses. In the end the merchant decides to head to soubar along with his last guard, to hand over the guard his pay and bonus, and probably get drunk while thinking about future.
The adventurers decide to follow the "army".
They walk along the trail, and eventually they catch up with the force that stopped for a while.
They see large number of archers, few foot soldiers. Many undead appear to be incredibly powerful and strangely well equipped. A seemingly sentient skeletal knight stands in front of them.
As adventurers approach, the knight walks towards them, and address the living, its words are seeping with anger, and malice. The creature radiates dread.
The knight accuses adventurers of troubling their master and interfering with their affairs. It seems that they're about to get slaughtered, when somebody manages to barely turn the situation around, while speaking that they had found some of the items the master of undead sought. They offer long-sought diamonds.
Once another undead investigates the diamonds and nods, approving them, the skeletal commander contemplates. One of the adventurers cracks few jokes, the undead makes its mind, and demands repayment for the trouble caused by the living in the past. It points at that adventurer and orders to bring him close.
The group's opinion splits. Few of them do not care, and few do not wish to sacrifice a life. Those that oppose, decide to fight the undead.
A fight breaks out, the 4 adventurers of the "opposing" group are very quickly slaughtered. The skeletal knight wipes out his blade, and proclaims "In the name of our master, I bestow upon you existence unending". And raises two of the fallen as zombies.
And now negotiations are possible.
One of the advntuerers asks to get the corpses of the fallen. Another offers cooperation of the group behind it. And one more asks for details.
The undead allow taking the corpses, and offer few details to the ones that request them. And claim that those remaining behind has proven to be useful and are allowed to remain alive. For now.
The skeletal army starts moving away to their unspecified "order". For some reason they leave adventurers turned into zombeis behind.
The remaining few look at the zombies, and decide to slay them in order to raise them, once again, as living.
One of the adventurers teleports to safety, while remaining two head to soubar. Along the way, they encounter, once again, an armored figure that roams those lands seeking people to duel. The figure is now battered and heavily damaged. But once again, it points its blade at the adventurers, inviting them to duel. They decline, and the figure leaves, disappointing.
The party decide to bury one of their comrades instead of raising, as one of them claims that this particular adventurer sought death and wishes his life to end, and manages to convince another.
A simple tombstone stands in the northern region.
They head to soubar, find the priestess, and raise the fallen. They spring to life, and discussion and retelling of the events begin....
