Re: Coming Soon: Pets
If they use summons mechanics, then they will auto-attack, at times. That'll be annoying since they likely won't survive a round.

Re: Coming Soon: Pets
Easily controlled by commanding your summon to just follow you (VEE I believe), which prevents them from attacking. And when needed, commanding them to hold their position (VWX).
But I can probably remove some of their combat scripts, or make them run away from combat instead.

Re: Coming Soon: Pets
One other thing: no matter what sort of mechanics they use—familiar or companion—these Pets will take up the Summons slot, or....? I'm thinking of whether or not such Pets would conflict with a Wiz/Sorc who already had a Familiar, for example.
Regardless, Pets sounds like fun! Cheers.

Preference would be to use the swarm slot given swarms have lower durations by comparison and aren't so frequently called upon.

Seems to be that slots are actually defined by local strings, so it can just have its very own "Pet" slot that does not override any other summon.Aspect of Sorrow wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 11:15 am Preference would be to use the swarm slot given swarms have lower durations by comparison and aren't so frequently called upon.
So yeah, will probably go with a summon slot then, for equal access. But for people sad about not being able to control it like a familiar, I am intending on adding a better GUI to make controlling summons easier.

SO the pets will be larger than a level 2 ranger/druid pet then, it seems.

As they do not scale, yes, they come in at normal size.JustAnotherGuy wrote: ↑Sun Feb 13, 2022 11:16 pm SO the pets will be larger than a level 2 ranger/druid pet then, it seems.
You can see it as druids/rangers raising their pets from birth, while other people buy them later in their lives.

That makes sense. For my own purposes, I was planning on tiny "puppies". But I can see where the full grown is better overall. Otherwise we'd eventually have people running around 2-3 year old baby animals, lol.Rhifox wrote: ↑Sun Feb 13, 2022 11:21 pmAs they do not scale, yes, they come in at normal size.JustAnotherGuy wrote: ↑Sun Feb 13, 2022 11:16 pm SO the pets will be larger than a level 2 ranger/druid pet then, it seems.

Puppies can come later, but I'm starting with basic animals for now.

Of relevant concern, as I am unaware if any change has previously been made to address it:
Do Warlocks still have 1/2 CL for the purposes of overcoming Spell Resistance, as default for the NWN2 base game?

I play a baker. Sometimes she provides counseling or treatment.
Ask about our Breadflower daily special to save five coppers off a purchase of five pastries.
She seems unusually interested in cursed items.
She has also been seeking a variety of gems and stones.
