Yep. It was kinda my first real effort to powerbuild, but luckily, it's power lies in CHA, so I feel like I have some backup to the RP. But, even though it was a powerbuild, I still had a lot to learn in how to play it. That took some time, learning as I leveled up. But once you get that OOC knowledge, it is amazing.

And really, player knowledge is the most OP part of any NWN2 server, and just most games in general. Learning the mechanics IS part of the game, and often very, very fun. It's just always not necessary to have a good time.

You do realize M3nt means the Shapechange spell, and the Polymorphing mechanics?

You can utilize Shapechange spell with either an arcanist or a spirit shaman/Druid. As long as you get to CL 29/30 so to retain buffs, it’s really not difficult to Rule all content.

I made an unoptimized build with 16sorc levels and just the basic feats that synergize with shapechange. CL30 60+AC, 10regen, 40+AB using the hornd devil. Using only a +4Deflection item and a Charisma item. I have to wait for the server to reset and I ll post the vid here. Using items, different shapes etc, they can kill the Frost king, Balor and can tank the white dragon - i dont know if they can actually kill the white dragon unless there is a form that the equipped weapon type ( adamantine ) can transfer. Even then its iffy

This can be considerably improved, either by improving the melee stats, or giving the caster a different function such as blasting. You can also use auto still to tank the bosses even when you need to get out of shape for whatever reason. I am sensing nerfs coming this way as well

I do have one question. Is there really no deity that prefers the katana as a weapon?

That sounds similar to my build idea monk 3 /fighter 12/ druid 5/shifter 10 and horned devil form. I just have no way to test if the build works until I get into the epic levels.

With just 10 levels of shifter you lose a lot

Another way to get these feats is Fighter 24. After Fighter 20; Epic Fighter Bonus Feats can be spent on Epic feats. (It is how Fighter 30 can grab +10 Great Strengths for example.) Edit: And now you do not even need Thief Acrobat to do it. Edit II: Another reason to roll a dexterity based Fighter I suppose, I am not complaining.

As promised. An unoptimized build with just a +3Cha item, a deflection item and a regen cloak - just the bare minimum with PRCS to get the ideal BAB and feats that synergize with polymrph. It was a braindead playthrough, without the use of any debuffing spells such as Bigby 5, Curses etc. It tanked everything, ate a mords and didnt need rebuff - out of shape, ethereal, cast spells. Cleared 2 areas, ate all the spells and still went out with full hp - no heals, no umd. The Frost giant shape or the Maur can do the same to the balor but +4 items will be needed to deal with the mords when out of shape. The Dragolich will be even easier with the dragon shape looking the most ideal. It doesnt get any easier than this,

Again this was a build with just the basics. One can swap the 10Sorc levels for a PRC that will give better stats, or make it a better blaster or just increase the CL for more fighter levels etc

The shifter will dwarf this

This does seem to be going down the exact same route as the Polymorph changes when they came out. You don't see many shapeshifting wizards around, despite all the work that went into the changes and the new forms, do you.

No, but seriously. Take that build somewhere that isn't the frost giant pushover and it'll flop over like a wet sheet of paper. (And not the CR 23 lizard cave either...)

The shifter better dwarf this or it'll go exactly the polymorph wizard route. As in, "Yes, technically you possibly could make one that sort of can solo one easy zone, but why would you take one instead of the established work horses". And keep in mind that the shifter might just end up with stats like those, except without the elemental shield, the displacement, haste, premonition and so forth.


And it's not like you'd even pick it up for RP alone either. You have druids and poly wizards already if you wanted to play a shapeshifter. This needs to stand up on its own, otherwise we'll just keep our massive druidic population with more coming.

Thanks, looks like a good build with enough space to improve once shifter goes online. How did you get the second +12 dmg besides the +12 str bonus? weapon spec unarmed for +2, mastery +2, but neither weapon nor gloves transfer.
