Word around Sshamath is that Bregan D'aerthe has seen a change in its leadership and that the drow known as Conjurer Vesche is now the outward face of the mercenary company. Wirg, the orc who previously held that position, is said to now be the second in command.

To Rlyd of School of Enchantment and Charm
It has come to our attention that you have tried to take one of successes of the School of Conjuration and Summoning in regards of neutralising the threat of the Crimson Skulls and steal it for the School of Enchantment and Charm which never had anything to do with those magical artifacts. The magistrature of Sshamath has received reports of this slander from citizens of S'shamath and have decided to give you a warning.
Don't do this again or else there will be severe consequences for such blatant plays on reputation of Schools of Magic and spreading false information to undermine their efforts done. The Magistrate issues a fine of 10,000 plak'la to be paid at earliest convenience.

The Conclave of S'shamath
Rlyd records the secretive message from the Conclave scribe Scribe Xundus Dyrr and posts it throughout the conclave with a response.
Esteem Scribe of whatever school or master you serve, I regret to inform you that your secretive taxes of slander are quite evasive in nature. I am sure the school the conjuration have sought you out, in order to recover whatever pride the a school has left as it falls under the behast of bre'gan mercenaries that decide who do not serve the city proper. In which i remind you are not lead by fearn.
Unless a chronical of of the crimson skull Issue is declare for public observation, I see this as no more then a tax collector attempting to extort coin from the prestigious school of enchantment and charm. I fear such actions through secret channels envelop weak resolve that harm the prestige of our beloved city and to pay such coin through a trival amount easily payed, This would would admit some sort of fault, is beneath the school of enchantment,
The school of enchantment is and as always serve the city and the conclave, and are not corrupted by foreign organizations of Menzoberranzan. If a council is need to to declare faults in earnest, then that may be so and should be done publicly and if the so offended petty parties will not release said information, the school of enchantment also reserves this right to not declare their information as well. As this dication was not afforded to the conclave proper I see no legal bearing.

Rlyd adds an addendum to the poster.
I will however personally donate 30,000 plat'ka to the city for use in public works, defense of the city, or whatever the conclave dictates. As some refuse to pay their fair share of taxes to our glorious city of dark weaving. This donation, is not an admission of any wrong doing and I wish to make that apparent, tis only a citizen wishing to support his esteemed city.
((dm can deduct 30,000 gold from rlyd)

S'shamath Daily - The Spider Kiss Baths
By now it would be known through S'shamath that since the last turning a group of regulars likes to occupy
the Spider Kiss' baths quite often.
There are mentions of wicked amounts of alcohol and food being ordered every time. Some say dice games, acrobatics, and witchery are involved.
Be warned, The Water Witch's tradition has taken root.

For the past cycles, those travelling to and from Sshamath would have seen stone workers make changes to the cavern structure just outside Sshamath in Varalla's Passage at a cave opening. Once they are finished, a rather inviting door is seen instead of a plain cave opening which before required a wardstone to get past. There is also a signpost outside, clearly marking the door as Bregan D'aerthe's headquarters, informing the public of that they are mercenaries and information brokers. A bench has also been placed outside and a crop of mushrooms, all quite eye-pleasing.
Anyone pondering aloud on these changes would soon hear of that Bregan D'aerthe have opened up their own bar for anyone. However there would be a warning word too, that any misconduct would not be tolerated. That the band of mercenaries have taken fingers for even small slights.

After a being absent from the streets of Sshamath for nearly a turning, Bregan D'aerthe's Master of Hounds, Daug'aonar, is seen once more. The drow walks, as always, in his blackened and sharp edged mithral plate mail, but instead of a hood and mask, he now wears a distinctive helmet wrought into the shape of a snarling hellhoud. Its jaws form the visor, which he keeps closed, so only beady eyes and a tiny strip of flesh is visible. The visible scarring on even that strip of flesh is evident. His Bregan symbol is much in evidence.
Daug'aonar walks more stiffly than he once did, as if pained, and yet the same sense of surly aggression radiates from him.
He visits the Bazaar, circling the various stalls, and speaking to each merchant. He makes it known that Bregan is fresh from successful contracts that have benefitted the city and the Conclave, and is now available for other paid work. He suggests services such as assassinations, escort, and deal brokering.
Following this, the drow is seem visiting the Nau'klar in the Darkwoods. He takes a seat there, and watches those who come and go, greeting those he knows with a simple nod.
From this cycle on the drow is a common visitor to Sshamath once more, and pays regular visits to the merchants, repeating the same offers as before.

Darkwoods Daily - The return of the Witch
After being gone for close to two turnings, the Water Witch could have been spotted, looking worse for wear, as she entered Darkwoods with a pissed off duergar in tow. The two disappeared into the same hole they used to rent in the past.

Some time later, the aging gray dwarf could have been seen going to the Nau'klar while the Witch headed to the Tower.

DM Arrakeen wrote:Unbeknownst to Daug, a hidden and patient observer has kept an eye on the Master of Hounds during his intermittent walkabouts in the Bazaar. Taking note of jaluk's behavior, stance, and words spoken to merchants and other of their ilk, the observer has remained undetected. There were options to weigh and calculations to make. Rash decisions rarely brought profit, he knew it well; and profit was what he was concerned about most of all. After a thorough investigation into available prospects, he reached a conclusion.
It was time to make the first move.
One of these cycles, while Daug was busy talking with some trader, he experienced a prickling feeling at the base of his skull. Call it what you will; instinct or years of experience, it mattered not. The alarm bells rang for a reason, for they heralded the coming of a beast. A shadow moved at the corned of jaluk's vision, and soon a hulking presence emerged from behind a pile of crates; a whole 7 feet, 260 lbs and bared teeth of it. The Master of Hounds found himself facing the torso of a not-so-friendly-looking Quaggoth.

Daug'aonar tenses up at sight of the beast, a hand moving down to his cleaver by instinct, despite his knowledge of the city's wards. Behind his visor his eyes narrow in reciprocated aggression. He looks up at the Quaggoth, his own diminutive and spiky form very much in its shadow.
"What?" he says, in undercommon.

S'shamath and Darkwoods Daily - A searching Witch
The odd findings at the Tower brought the Witch to the other possible location. To her dissatisfaction, this place was as empty as the one at the Tower and offered a similar evidence.

She thereupon continued her quest throughout the streets, alleys and various establishments found in Darkwoods. The Witch did not hide her presence, but neither did she ask anyone any questions yet.

At long last, her search brought her back to the center of S'shamath. Maeve canvassed the streets for a while before deciding that it was time to change the approach.

The Witch could have been seen procuring the scrolls of sending at the local Thayan Merchant.
