A man carrying a fire genasi would have been seen walking the to Baldur's Gate flanked by a rapidly moving hin and an elf that seemed to be discussing the genasi's condition. When requested by the guards, the mask on the genasi was removed and the group made their way to the Temple of Ilmater. After the elf informs the sisters of the genasi's near death and alleged insanity, the man placed the genasi on an open bed. After tying the genasi's feet together and one arm to the bed, the man hands an apple to the elf and leaves. The elf remains near the bed and awaits word from the sisters.

Ameris Santraeger makes enquiries as to the nature of the admission, and then goes off to consult with the other clergy. He has a worried look.

---------------------

Later, the priest arrives into the temple with a group of disparate adventurers, with a half dozen sacks of wheat, which they carry from the rough direction of the docks to the temple. The adventurers appear to be members of TRUST, barring the sorceress Telia Navra. The group shares a meal afterwards.

Over the course of the next day or so, Ameris is seen carrying these sacks to a home in the East Gate district.

A number of dockworkers come by with a nasty, infectious cough. They are treated with potions provided by the elderly Brother Marcus.

A small woman and an obviously sick dog enter the temple to be intercepted by the good Sister Adolina. After a moment of "conversing"--loosely defined, as the small woman did not speak at all--the dog is treated to a potion and a much-needed bath, while the rather unhappy woman gets a change of clothes.

Over the course of the day, the small woman is either seen playing with the less malodorous dog in an oddly bemused way, or hiding under one of the tables tucked in the corners, folding paper or playing with the figures she had already made. She seems to make a point of avoiding other people and groups, going off to hide when too many come by.

Some time later Koryeneer enters the temple with a little child by the name of Cassandra in tow. He would be seen asking if an elderly fellow by the name of Darrell had been in for blessings as he had been complaining of a cough earlier to the child his grand daughter. Koryeneer left the child in the care of the temple until her mom described as a fisher on the boat Sunny Day by the name of Stacy returned to pick her up. Koryeneer did confide in the sister present that he feared worse for the child as her grandfather had yet to be located and many ships were not making harbor once the left port in fear of the sickness. Kory would then turn to leave and patting the child on the head as she playfully hangs out with a new found dog in the temple.......

During the day a human known as Tegan and a elf known as Sywyn enter the temple with the body. They try to revive the man to no avail, taken by the disease that is causing disaster to the district.

Later the woman returns explaining more casualties - these ones she could save.

"I thinkt he importaint thing is to make it known that anyone with a small cough to be cured of disease, if you need anything else I will be out on the street"

With that she departs for more patroling of the docks.

Though the Song of the Morning is occupied with it's own local issues, the news of the plague brings about the dour countenance of both clergy and templar alike. A caravan makes the long journey north to the Ilmateri Sanctuary in Baldur's Gate on behalf of the temple, given the distance and their own mission it is likely all that can be offered from it's allies in the south. Beneath the leathery tarp of the horse-drawn cart are crates of fresh fruit and vegetables from the temple's own fields, along with a number of healing poultices concocted by the Dawnpriests.

After a short chat with Ivan the Druid and Sister Adolina, Endelyon left the Temple of Ilmater, heading towards the East district's market. An hour or so later, she would return, followed by two porters, one carrying a large wooden box and the other a smaller one. The first would be filled with close to a hundred cloth masks, appearing new and never worn. Though the masks were quite simple in appearance, they were clean and functional.

The second box would contain several wooden toys; dolls and toy soldiers and things of that nature, mostly. She would offer Adolina a warm smile as the second porter set the toys down. "In case you have to house any children who have been afflicted," she would explain, making a slight motion to them.

After dropping the goods off the small woman left the temple once more, glancing towards the infirmary door with a more than slightly worried expression as she stepped outside.

(( Following DG's example, if this RP is acceptable I am more than willing to have whatever amount of coin the DMs deem appropriate for the purchase of these masks and toys from Endelyon's inventory. If there is any problem with this RP, please let me know. ))

Ameris, upon arriving in the temple for his daily shift, expresses pleasant surprise at seeing a dog within its confines. He is less surprised about the child, Stacy, and indeed goes out of his way to greet her and introduce himself as "Brother Ameris, the stuffy one" in the hopes that this will make her laugh.

News of a death caused by the disease, however, clearly troubles the priest, and when he talks to the sisters about the supply situation he grows concerned.

"Our supplies dwindle already? It has only been three days..."

He would then speak with Brother Marcus and the sisters of the alms recently collected for Soubar.

"We received a large donation not for that specific purpose, but for good causes generally. Perhaps I should use some of that to organise a shipment of medical supplies from the south, now. Just in case."

He would then begin to speak to those he saw in the course of his duties about assisting in such a task.

///I am hoping to do some RP IG tonight at approximately 21:30 GMT revolving around resupplying the temple, if anyone is interested all are welcome.

Amidst the bustling efforts of the temple, a new arrival takes up residence, apparently for a long term stay. He would introduce himself as Khalso el Tamir, a Templar of the Golden Cup, hailing latterly from the House of the Broken God in Keltar, Calimsham - the largest Ilmateri temple in the realms.

His duties appear to encompass safeguarding the Sanctuary of Ilmater in Baldur's Gate, as well as those who visit it. He sets about them with an austere resolve.

///A DM Maecius approved post about the arrival of a new NPC to the Temple of Ilmater - I understand he will be present IG in due course. A physical description of him can be found here:
Hidden: show
Maecius wrote:(( As far as who Khalso el Tamir is? You can imagine he is a olive-skinned paladin of about twenty-five years with dark, slicked-back hair and coal-black eyes. He is stern and serious, perhaps to a detriment (imagine an ascetic who will sleep on the floor if you let him), and sometimes judgmental about those who seem to be having too much fun. He wields a massive falchion, with a buckler strapped to the left forearm, and wears chainmail instead of plate (he claims it is to enhance his maneuverability). He will only drink water, saying that teas, juices, coffees, alcohols, and other drinks are "unnecessary luxuries for one such as I." He will fight to the death to protect his charges, and is a skilled warrior. ))

*With the Gate under the curse of the plague, the activity around the temple is frentic and fevered, but to watchers' eyes the arrival of Khalso el Tamir is well noticed, noted and reported back.

Like a small pebble dropped in a lake, the knights arrival spreads ripples through the network of those who hold the Church in less than pious regard...*

Brother Ameris sets off on a mission to retrieve supplies for the temple, accompanied by Koryeneer, Sani, Telia Navra, Luke Darius, and Jon Arrington.

Prayers are conducted and potions imbibed to cleanse the travellers of any contagion.

They then travel by magic to near Nashkel, and buy all the healing supplies readily available in that town.

They try to do the same in Gullykin after a trek there. It does not meet with as much success. The group decides to quench its thirst, however; despite the unsuitable furnishings in the local tavern.

Finally the group returns to Baldur's Gate, laden down with healing supplies fit to potentially heal four hundred and fifty souls, if properly administered. The supplies are used to restock the temple of Ilmater.

Thank-you for the RP those that came!

Ameris recieves on behalf of the temple a donation of masks and gloves, as well as some food, from a Chauntean, Edmund.

He then receives some funds from a dark clad figure (OOC: Tegeus Cromnis), which seems to offest much of the recent expenditure on supplies.

*since offering a donation of bandages, ungents and salves, the same thin figure has been glimpsed at times walking near the Church of Ilmater. Only if you knew the tall, thin monk might you raise your brow in surprise.*
