Agreed. It is LONG LONG LONG past time for the pure melee builds to get some love.mrm3ntalist wrote:First, its a great update, with much content that we can build on.
Caster clerics will be much more fun to play and more efficient, both in casting and turning.
Many new spells both divine and arcane. A few changes on current spells as well.
There is a new level4 paladin spell, that will allow for more tactics. There are a couple of strike spells too.
The downside is, that even though casters get many new toys, new prcs, new spells, meleers got nothing and some changes will make it even harder for them. Its tough to see a pure melee character nowdays - I think its going to become even harder.

I trust we're getting a grace period of free re-builds when this update comes out?Boddynock wrote:Agreed. It is LONG LONG LONG past time for the pure melee builds to get some love.mrm3ntalist wrote:First, its a great update, with much content that we can build on.

Re: Incoming Update
Is that old summon pet button in this update? There's a lot of content my character can't go to since the second I go into one door, he's crippled.

I really want to see a PRC with orc blood requirments that enhances Barbarian to . . .well. . . not amongst the worst classes on the server. I'd say worst but then 15 people would get offended and/or disagree with me.

nothing like that in this release, though we have discussed some general changes that may improve barbarian a bit. Though I think everyone would agree more is needed to make the class worthwhile.

Re: Incoming Update
It really isn't that hard to make a good Barbarian-based build.
But like nearly all builds, it must use UMD if it can solo the Server.
Magic is already King on BGTSCC. All mobs and Areas were adjusted in order to be able to handle the wifflestomp any divine or arcane gish will bring.

Blablabla magic stuff blablabla
Melee update when?

Then what's the point of melee build if you're forced into magic?Steve wrote:It really isn't that hard to make a good Barbarian-based build.

Do you mean they were buffed recently or that they've always been like that?Steve wrote: Magic is already King on BGTSCC. All mobs and Areas were adjusted in order to be able to handle the wifflestomp any divine or arcane gish will bring.

There, barbie fixed.

Melee builds always depended on magic in DnD. Bring magic-user friend - problem solved.

Re: Incoming Update
*Design content for melee builds, that don't rely on magic*
*Everyone uses their magic characters to defeat it and complains about lack of difficulty*
*design content with magic in mind, strong melee characters that don't need no magic suddenly become obsolete*
There is no escape from this nightmare.
