In pve the bosses already have insane resistances against sonic damage
In pvp the damage can be
fully countered by a sonic immunity or silence. Bards don't have access to disjunction.
Bigsby and hips can also be used to move away from the aoe. I don't really think it deserves a nerf when you look at what other classes can do.
Silent immunty is not ready at hand or on items for many builds and to almost any non caster build.
Further it does not address the abuse system in it durning pvp
Nerf the damage.

I do not think all classes should have an answer to everything. If you do not have a death ward against a necromancer or a sonic immunity against a bard you should be at a disadvantage

This seems like a knowledge issue, dmg is easy to counter.

Piercing lasts a few rounds, slashing is only for one round and mobs are often alone. Procs don't interrupt combat round.

Yes, the pierce lasts two rounds, the str is x2 in one round. One target for less damage over two rounds, one aoe for more damage over one round.

I play a bard and I agree that bards being better healers than clerics and druids is ridiculous.
As for the damage part in pvp, lrn 2 sonic immunity + silence.

General Announcement wrote:This and some other balance changes will go live with a 100 RCR period, in the coming weeks. Expect more info soon and an "even" more general announcement on the RCR period. As always mechanics are subject to future changes, at staff's discretion.
STR and HP unchanged, BAB increase is replaced by an AB increase.
Former formula :
BAB increase equal to an high BAB character of that level
New formula :
AB increase equal to 1/4 hit dice +1.
I'm not sure if this is a buff or a nerf. Isn't there a cap on how many ab bonus you can have at once?
8 from Divine might + 5 from greater magic weapon +3 from divine favor +3 from recitation means +19
The cap is supposely +20 which means a cleric won't benefit from bard songs or greater heroism?
Actually with +1 from aid and +1 from bless it already goes above the cap.
Do clerics really need the nerf?
Things that do count towards the cap:
Attack bonuses on weapons
Enhancement bonuses on weapons (including enhancement bonuses from spells like Holy Sword and (Greater) Magic Weapon)
True Strike
(Greater/Mass) Reduce Person/Reduce Animal
(Mass) Snake’s Swiftness
Haste (and all those spell like abilties that grant Haste)
(Greater) Heroism
Tenser's Transformation
War Cry
Inspire Courage
Divine Favor
Bless
(Mass) Aid
Prayer
Recitation
Battletide
(Greater) Magic Fang
Awaken
Nature's Avatar
Divine wrath
Battle Master

It does put more value on classes currently under powered and ignored such as war priest. Changing it to AB from BaB will also mean that you will no longer gain additional attacks per round.
