Re: Were did our UnderDark Dms go?
too busy with RL, and quite honestly there is nothing that intrigues me enough to carve out time to play.
Only been waiting for 2 years for the Underdark to get some attention from builders and dev team.
No offense to Manny, but he may be the only one working on this aspcet of this PW.
How many updates to the surface Vs UD? hmm?
Surface rules, UD sucks ass.
This coming from a player who has devoted a crapload of time and effort into the UD.
take it for what its worth.

Re: Were did our UnderDark Dms go?
I can attest to Moore1 (Val'feng) involvement in many plots. My character has actually moved towards the Charnag, with his aid, as a result of his original goals being met. All of which I've captured in my characters Bio.
Been trying to seek out new story-lines to pursue outside of House Mori'hyanda and give the Charnag a bit more presence in the city as you noted earlier. Have something tentatively setup now to tie up the loose ends RP-wise to close out one story arc.
Last night we did have quite a few folks moving through, might've been because it was a weekend, or that there was a small event in the tunnels. In any case we had some good RP interactions, thanks for that.

Just wondering: Anyone tried to offer service for the items? I am pretty curious what he asked... Was it the same thing or he asked various services depending on the cost of the items?

Re: Were did our UnderDark Dms go?
I'm back. It's been a damn harsh semester, and there were some events that prompted a fairly quick departure back in September, but I think I'm ready to roll again. Hopefully some of the faces of the Underdark still remember me.

I know for sure that there's been plenty involving surfacers in the underdark.
And there's not just -dm- event, tho.

Re: Were did our UnderDark Dms go?
((I have been running several adventures in the Underdark on server 2. Tonight I will run an adventure around 6pm EST based on the 2 main themes that the adventures contain. It will be on Server 2 if you want to join in. The levels preferred are mid to high but not over 22nd level.))
The adventures involve Illithids and Duergar attacking Drow patrols that routinely monitor the caves and their indigenous creatures. The Duergar have an uneasy alliance with the Undead. They have also brought Fire giants deeper into the ground to assist them. The Fire Giants help them as much as they can, but they have their own agenda and a seperate sense of honor where fighting the Drow is concerned. Recently a strange merchant has been recruiting Citizens to help him retrieve powerful magic items. It is mostly a rumor. The merchant drinks in Glauras Wings and pays well acoording to the information circulating.

Re: Were did our UnderDark Dms go?
that was some much needed love for us DM orphans of the UD !!!Hungry Hungry Mindflayers
Tuesday, April 5, 2011
In Central Sshamath, Kord and Ozoch meet in front of Ithic, the mindflayer merchant. Ithic complains that he tends his merchant stall too much and hasn't had brains in a long time. He hires Kord and Ozoch to get brains for him.
Kord and Ozoch leave Sshamath and go kill many duergar, but then remember that mindflayers like their victims alive. At that moment, a mindflayer ambushes them. Ozoch kills the mindflayer. The two return to town, with a plan to simply summon a monster and give it to Ithic to feast on.
In town, Ozoch offers Ithic a summoned wolf. Ithic is unimpressed.
Another mindflayer approaches the stall and claims that he saw Ozoch and Kord kill his brother in the tunnels of the Underdark. Kord throws a cold dwarf brain at Ithic and runs away. The second mindflayer gives chase, but cannot find Kord.
Ozoch confronts the second mindflayer, and the encounter turns violent. A beholder merchant destroys the mindflayer for Ozoch, and demands gold for services rendered. Ozoch pays the beholder.
A Sshamath guard comes and demands to know what has happened. Kord insults the guard and is promptly speared in the stomach. Kord falls to the ground, dying slowly and painfully. Ozoch bribes the guard and the guard leaves.
Ozoch then turns to Ithic and offers Kord's brains as a meal. Ithic is delighted and prepares to eat Kord's brains right then and there. The Sshamath guard returns though, and tells Ithic to take his meal inside, away from public sight. Ozoch helps Ithic move Kord into the tent.
Ozoch leaves. Ithic bends over Kord's head, probing with his tentacles. At that moment, Kord struggles back to consciousness. Kord stabs one of Ithic's tentacles with an arrow and stumbles out of the tent, fleeing for his life.
Rewards:
XP for Ozoch and Kord
a big thanks to Mister Roger for that unexpected event, that turned a kill/loot night into a very happening session with Kord !!!
it was a blast really !!
tho i did feel like "Dum and Dummer" of the UD at time, the int skill roll didn't help one bit !!! the ending was just grand !!
i am now thinking of running a brain supply line to the Mind-flayer, it seems like a great busyness opportunity!!! *wink*
anyway thanks to both (player:Kord and DM:Roger) for turning a bland night into an amazing one...
*two thumbs up*

Re: Were did our UnderDark Dms go?
I've had three DM events in the last week or so, two with actual UD characters and one surface going to UD. I'd say they are certainly still around. they were 3 diff dms also by the way.

DM Blackstaff and I have been scheming.
Blackstaff has far more UD knowledge than I, but I have more surface evil experience. I'm trying to hook you guys into the larger geography without breaking the theme. It will take us a little bit to get our sea-legs and up to speed, but we want you to know that we love you! You are our special, unique butterflies! [Edit: if those last two statements made you ill, then you are probably in the right place.]

Just thought I would take a moment to teach people to read between the lines here. Observe:Mulciber wrote:DM Blackstaff and I have been scheming.

Only teasing... Maybe. This is the Underdark they are talking about... As long as the RP is good, and everyone has fun, does it really matter how much blood is shed? =PMulciber wrote:DM Blackstaff and I have been scheming ways to RP you all to death... possibly painful ways.

You are our special, unique soon to be crushed if you are not careful butterflies! [Edit: if those last two statements made you ill, then you are probably in the right place. Or so you think... looks might be a bit deceiving...]

Don't tempt me, Meri. How much do you think a Saint would fetch in the Underdark slave trade?
