Were did our UnderDark Dms go?
Since the last Moirhyanda event there has been the lack of UD Dms about or none at all. I just want to know WHERE are they..maybe get new ones down there that want to be on and play there with the lonely few that are there and are not Morihyandas.

Re: Were did our UnderDark Dms go?
I would like to second that request. Even though the surface is getting events every so and then, I have been playing in UD for quite a few weeks and I have seen absolutely no event in that time. I did not even know of the Mori hyanda event since I am not part of the house.
People often complain about how the UD has less RP, stories and population than the surface. I do know for a fact that there are many people who already have or recently started UD characters and this is very nice, not to mention that there can be very intriguing stories, conflicts and other interesting social encounters in Ssamath some of which I have witnessed with great pleasure. The thing is that in order to make that even better and closer to the experience offered in the surface, some events are needed in order to draw the attention of players to the Underdark. Many PCs out there have really nice backgrounds and if a DM was to listen to a few conversations over a week even a story-focused event could easily be designed IMO. I do not mean to look selfish, I know there are many things that have to be done and I do NOT demand events from the DMs, but a fact is a fact, and the fact is that UD needs some events to put some life in it.

Im just frustrated i guess, there are plenty that want to be Dms for the underdark and will make great DMs. Adzling for one would make a great Dm i would vote for him in a second, eviloth ....even though he is a Lloth loveing spider catcher....or Zkenic which iv rp'ed his character this past month. I dont know if there are issues with other DMs or if theres a debate on whom to choose but if others are gone let someone else take the seat and help us out down there.Im sure theres real life issues we all go threw just let someone thats able and ready to go do it thats all.

Re: Were did our UnderDark Dms go?
Isn't Rhicora suppossed to be a UD-focused DM? Maybe she's in US and I have never seen running an event since I live in EU, but still I think there are DMs who play during EU peak times. I mean, even if there are not, I simply do not understand the following: There are quite a few capable DMs in this server, most of them run events on the surface only even though I have never seen the term "surface DM". If there is no such thing, I would like to kindly ask the DMs to start giving us drow some love too. [we may be the devil incarnate but we still like hugs and.. err....er... well at least we don't kill you white-skinned ones on sight like you do meannies! at least not often ].
If on the other hand there is indeed a distinction between surface and Underdark DMs there are two options depending on the actual situation
A) We need more for the UD and honestly even some not so good ones are better than nothing
OR
B) If there are enough UD DMs one should actually wonder what is keeping them from running events and do something about it.
No offense, but the main responsibility of a person designated as DM is to run events and help with creating RP opportunities, stories and mini-campaigns right?
If I'm saying something wrong feel free to correct me.

Re: Were did our UnderDark Dms go?
I think that one of the problems DM's face with running events in the UD is that a lot of them don't really know the UD very well. Also there are a ton of areas named "Underdark" and in the past I had a DM pulling out his hair trying to find the area that my character was in!
The UD needs a Sammaster the Mad to spice things up once in a while. The kind of events that pretty much any UD character can get involved in.

Don't worry so much. The staff is considering adding additional Dm's all the time but there is a qualification process. This is not UD specific, the surface has seen a decline in DM activity as the summer is ending. It will pick-up soon, so just keep patient and courteous and grateful for those that have put in a lot of time in keeping us entertained which is a hell of lot of headaches than it is fun for the DM.

He would probably explode, or more likely not be able to DM much. Dunno how many people know the hours he puts into making the UD a better place already lol.moore1. wrote:i would even throw Mar3usmc in there for Dming the underdark..i know he is a busy man .

Thats the problem of UD. People start to get stereotypes about UD. Even though the Sshamath is completely different from Menzo and other cities. I say that UD mst be balanced and we must educate people and advertise the city of Sshamath as city of relative liberty and many options. And make UD funnier of course. ; )
When someone calls you elitist, he automatically admits that your RP is superior to his.

Re: Were did our UnderDark Dms go?
Hmmm... and I was wondering why all these drow who play females treat human males like dogs. Some of the priestesses act like the world is theirs, which is partially ok given the lolth priestess usual arrogance, but still many don't seem to understand that in Ssamath their political power is almost nonexistent and act like nobles and such, often abusing people. Of course it may just be me, or on the other hand some people should read some lore in the forums.Rainbow Prism wrote:Morndinsamman wrote:Pfft.

Back on track, I don't see why DMs would have a problem with that, I mean, DMs are supposed to actually know the lore of Ssamath and perhaps even help random newbies learn what makes Ssamath different.
RP and marvellous storie-campaign opportunities are just around the corner people, it's just that some of us have to actually take a step and look.

Re: Were did our UnderDark Dms go?
I always liked that there were a few Llothian Priestesses acting all snotty. It adds to the flavor. If the players are thick skinned enough to understand that their character (or house) will never rule Sshamath, then I say let them act like &*&*&*! all they want.
Doesn't the lore of Sshamath just set boundaries on which group can have the power? Is it necessary to enforce the lore on the character's behavior to the point that either everyone makes a male drow wizard or plays on the surface?
I apparently don't get it.
