RP, no. Adventure... technically also no, but you'll rarely find someone who manages to make a dungeon run enticing when it becomes a spectator sport. By and large, the best times I have are when I'm adventuring with a group with a similar power level (which sometimes corresponds to actual level, though not as often as I'd like) to my own, and can RP as someone who's actually materially contributing to the adventure.

It's part of why I'm so sensitive to the server's questionable balancing: It blurs the already thin line between grinding and adventuring.

Agreed!

Ohhh, I need to get around to checking whose languages are broken. I know Virin's a mess with all her sneaky languages duplicated, but I can't remember who else I logged in on before you rolled that back...

Will there be a way for people to understand the language changes in-game?

For instance:
6. Goblin is being renamed Ghukliak
Maybe say this in the language picker:

Ghukliak (goblin)

I double that. Having racial languages somehow marked with "common" description would be very useful when picking languages as not everyone knows how goblin language is called.

Hello,
Can the Server please get the Time domain?

Funny…it’s even listed on the BGTSCC wiki!!!

Or, https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Time_domain

Bump on this question. The Wiki nor this original listing of the new(ish) PrC states or stated that TWF disabled Elegant Strike bonus. Can this be confirmed to be intentional or not?

It seems rather important to make sure the Wiki reflects this, either way. Cheers.

EDIT: It seems, via testing on the BGTSCC JEGs, that Elegant Strike WILL apply to TWF after Resting. However, if one then unequips weapons, then reequips, TWF will not apply the Elegant Strike damage, only when 1-handed.

More adjustments coming in the next patch or two (or three, depending on our patch schedule and how quickly I can pass through the remaining language files):
  • Cipher normalization. Lowercase is normal text, uppercase is uppercased text. None of this "lowercase is uppercase but uppercase is lowercase" or "uppercase isn't same as lowercase" nonsense that my last update exposed.
  • Sign languages now throw out a random emote for the whole message instead of trying (and failing, because incorrectly-formatted 2DAs) to use a cipher with one emote per letter.
    • Despite not technically being a sign language (or using emotes), Animal Empathy has also been changed to use this system instead of ciphering the whole message into apostrophes.
    • Due to its nature as a means of secretly communicating in plain sight, Shadow Cant is a special case. While Drowsign and Animal Empathy go through a random list of emotes, Shadow Cant makes a Bluff check to select an emote list.
    • There are multiple emote lists for any given word count. These lists are selected by dividing your Bluff roll by the word count. Higher results will result in less overt signals, and exceeding the final threshold will emit no emote at all.
    • In addition to some of the more obvious messages, listeners (observers?) can also notice there's a secret message by passing an opposed Sense Motive check against the speaker's Bluff result.
  • A few dictionary fixes.
  • Ruathlek now uses the existing Ruathlek cipher instead of recycling the Draconic cipher/dictionary like Arcane used to.

Ewe wrote: Fri Nov 12, 2021 2:51 pm Due to a longstanding engine bug, Automatic Failure for Will and Reflex did not function.

This means if your saving throw beat the DC on a critical failure (roll of 1) for Will or Reflex you still counted as "passing" by the engine despite the combat message stating the save failed.

We are in final stages of development and testing of an engine level patch that will fix this bug.

I know this is a huge change, but I felt it was such a core rule to d20 that it ought to be respected and put in the time and research to create a fix.

At this time the staff will not be issuing RCRs for this change, as it is considered a bug fix. Our current stance around propping up builds around certain known bugs is "do at your own risk" as those bugs could be fixed in the future.

Note: this effects all saving throws be they against PCs or creatures.
