Alice grew up in the forest. Under the guidance of the Masked Leaf, she became a druidesse. As a gnome, she also has the talent to speak to animals. On her travels, she met Krishek, a giant spider. At the time, Krishek was only 3/4 of a (human) feet. But he grew fast.
She didn't encounter civilization often in her travel in the wild and usually choose to avoid it. That is until she walked to the trade way. There she met wolves that lived outside of the forest and bandits that would attack anyone. She decided to stay for the time being until she can learn of why the wolves started living on the edge of Baldur's Gate.
