A scorched body on the tradeway

The two fist watched as their fellow soldier, Kert told the two swordsman, one in blue, a human, the other in dark, an elf, that they had broken the law, a fairly tame discussion of the laws of friendly dueling on the tradeway began, Doran Amar was mentioned. Escalation happened, and Kert attempted an arrest, the two men refused and began to walk at a fairly leisurely pace away from the gate, heading toward the tradeway, smirks spread across their lips.

The two watchmen looked on, curiously now, as Kert drew steel and took chase, disappearing down the tradeway and into the lightly forested area and out of sight. A half an hour goes by, and the man fails to return with his arrests, the watchmen become worried and head out a ways down the road to find only a gruesome sight. The missing soldier hanging from the tree his face and flesh burned and badly lacerated by what looks to be the blades of nearly 8 swordsman at least, to the trained eye. Beneath it sits his scorched shield, and burned into the base of the tree, a symbol depicting several arms bent to form a circle, each of them holding a wicked blade.
