A (possibly Intriguing) RP Along the Sword Coast

Unread post by Melisende »

Greetings and Salutations,

My name is Melisende, I am a troubadour, which is to say that I weave tales and occasionally magic into music and song for any number of ends the most familiar of which to the public would be the amusement and perhaps edification of the listener. Be assured therefore that I shall endeavor to not bore you overmuch (or overlong) in this posting.

To wit, I and some of my sisters - in gender and intent, if not by race - recently set out on a path to adventure. No longer were we content to be mere subcontractors to aged wizards yearning for wyvern egg fry-ups, fetishist tanners looking to create amazing technicolor dreamcoats from troll hides, or rude, crude, and dim-witted mercenary captains with a fondness for orc head in aspic. No, not us, we wanted and still want more from the adventuring life than glorified parcel delivery. We want to be a band of sisters who are, as it were, doin' it for themselves. Put another way we are characters in search of a not-overly-tired-plot (from here on to be denoted as NOTP) involving scheming villains and magnificent heroines (no, I don't mean the stuff you shoot up with in order to find relief from your cares).

In order to avoid any accusations of discrimination we would be more than happy to have this extended RP involve males as well as females. In addition to those noble in spirit bastards, dastards and others who are ambivalent about good works are welcome and indeed encouraged to take part. Just keep in mind that for the NOTP to work we need participants who are willing to play their part within the story arc without petulance, tantrums, or a desire to blow it all up. All should feel free to improvise but the intent here is not to create a chaotic pell-mell for loot.

With that brief introduction out of the way, the floor is now open for suggestions and dare I say a working, collaborative outline. Something epic or building to an epic denoument is what we are generally looking for, though just maybe it should not involve cataclysmic shifts in divine pantheons or, for that matter, in tectonic plates.

The year is 1546 DR (or thereabouts as I understand it)...

Err, yes. It has been pointed out to me that the year is in fact 1346 DR, which I knew, but missed anyway. Head in the clouds and all that, you know, the artistic elf stereotype.

Sil'vimand Gwenth'r'rydrell would be interested in a community of mutual admirations if that be the intent?

If high venture and occasional excursions to places of danger are the aim then I would most definitely be interested. Known for being a bit aloof and hasty, Sil does have a desire to help and his heart is true.

Indeed, as a Sister whose heart is pure and true, I would like to point out that hin mushroom soup is absolutely delicious and I for one am happy to forage said fungi for a free bowl!

But in truth, I think this a great idea.

I hear there are some hin that would like nothing more than to make an elf casserole, but I'm sure they are just rumours....
