Clambering nimbly over a series of logs, an enterprising goblin slinks speedily through the bush towards the building materials, anticipating a quick score in snatching up whatever valuables he can. Maybe even a nice sturdy construction tool that he could bash his way up the tribe hierarchy with, he thinks to himself with a singularly evil mind. Spotting a Dwarven made pick axe he darts towards it, dirty fangs frothing with anticipation. The goblin manages to get within several feet of it before a silver arrow slams into his forehead, robbing him of a last thought as it pins him stone dead to a half-assembled crossbeam.

Hanging his longbow back on the branch next to him, Whale Bone settles back down into his tree perch and dozes off again...

Whale Bone watched as Kaltyra walked slowly off from the Temple of Oghma's small garden. He munched loudly on the crispy wedge of Shambling-Mound that he had fried in animal-fat and salted: the only noise besides some mirthful singing sounding out from somewhere in the Keep's grounds. Ponderously he sat there, his face a smiling mask of be-tusked stoicism, his huge eyes shining with decades of suppressed feeling, and his heart smashing against the inside of his chest like a morningstar.

"All am change" he muttered through crumbling bits of kale. "All am go, all am leave."

Feeling welled up in him, filling his huge frame and, unsatisfied, continued up until it practically radiated out through his big dumb eyes. Eyes that had saved him from doom countless times at the hands of adventurers and authorities alike. Eyes that had learned long ago that all living beings shared the same desire in their secret depths; To Be Understood. Eyes that were watching one of the most sympathetic beings who had ever cared for him leave, possibly forever. Eyes that he covered now, all the time, but why? Eyes that could not be covered in the Keep- to Whale Bone's mind could not be covered in the presence of Oghmas; in who's eyes Understanding was the only doctrine and Truth the only law.

Almost shivering with sadness, he scooted back and reclined against the temple's cold stone walls, wrapping himself in Oghma's wisdom like a warm blanket.

*Whale-Bone stands in the pouring rain, reading words that he can scarcely bring himself to internalize- new rules most dire to his found faith, and dire to the constants to which he has rooted himself in order to survive his new home on the sometimes brutal Sword Coast and stave off bouts of sublime loneliness*

*Unbuckling and removing his brawling cap, he stands for a moment letting the rain seep into his scraggly hair and drip over his brow, sliding down his nose and tusks to drip off of his chin. He wipes the rain from his eyes wondering if he is wiping away tears as well. In Truth We Find Ourselves he thinks, keeping close to his heart the doctrine that has prolonged and saved his life time and time again in addition to giving his soul oft-needed respite. Sighing, he lifts his head high and strides into Candlekeep*
