A strange portal near Beregost

Unread post by zoombee84 »

Rumours spread across the land of natures strange behavior around beregost. Lightning storms, unstable flames, popout out of nowhere
A few adventurers had investigated the phenomenon and found the source of it.

A portal had been opened but not just any portal, this one was fluxing between the elemental planes.
So powerfull it was, more like a tear in the fabric of the prime.

Eventually the brave adventurers had managed to eliminate the danger with the help of an angel, but the question remains. .

Who was the one behind this? Who has the power to create a portal using both the weave and the dark weave together ?

The adventurers set off to consult with the mage of Highhedge, he agreed to look in to the matter on his free time.

Loud thunder is heard near the bridge towards Beregost.
Minutes later, Air elementals accompanied by Goblins are swarming a group of adventurers. These protective folks take it upon themselves to eliminate this threat, taking up a guard position as they make a small camp just past the bridge.

For a while the area seems calm, too calm even. . A wandering Tormite comes to investigate. After he leaves, loud rumbling can be heard from the direction of the Goblin mines. More elementals show up, the group of four decides to investigate.

When the come closer, they are struck with awe as they see a large shimmering portal, just in front of the cliffside. Moments later more trouble springs forth from the portal, the group fights them off bravely. They hurry to come up with a plan to close this portal and after carefull consideration they decide to let a celestial handle it.

The Celestial advise this group to find out who opened the gate, as the magics needed to do so, are worrysome.
They decide to head to the mage at High Hedge estate to ask for council.

The mage sends them off, with the promise to look into it when he has time.
The group agrees to this and will seek him out within a short while.

After a long night battling the forces of chaos north of Beregost Entresi is bare bones tired. He thinks back on the elementals that surged, and the goblins with their weird map drawing of their tribe slaughtering Beregost. The fine group of adventurers he battled with, such as the great Bre and his angelic host companion, which may have given our realm precious time to find a wizard to combat this new threat, and Azorel who alone defeated a mad wizard claiming to collect giggles. There was a lass by the name of Elli who offered us all sage advice for one so young.

Sleep comes and with it the restless dreams of madness. Giant rifts, with unseen horrors.....planes far removed from time...chaos chanting in a mad chorus of laughter and pain. What is to befall the sword coast, and all those that call this region home.

Waking with a start at the Friendly Arm Inn Entresi washes and readies for the road once again. Upon smelling the fresh morning air he recognizes Bre at the auctioneer, and waves himself over.

Thalantyr, the well-known wizard of High Hedge, sends word via a couple couriers that he has looked into the matter and will await one, some, or all of the party involved to come speak to him in greater detail.

Bre quickly writes a brief note handing it back to the courier to be delivered to the mage.

"An audience with you is greatly appreciated, our group of adventurers will meet up with ye as soon as possible. Kind regards,
Bre" The signature is hasty but neat nonetheless.
